Yet again, we find more bodge repairs on Shmee150's classic Porsche 914 project. This really is a financial disaster and one that we said we would restore! Another episode in the bag and many more bodge repairs to face. We are slowly getting one step closer to getting this car back on the road!

This never ends. Wonder how much this would cost for a normal customer. The skill and craftsmanship of these guys is next level.

It would cost far more than it will ever be worth. Shmee really should have looked for a better example as this one is full of bodged repairs but RU-vid videos will more than cover the cost
@jwalster9412

They probably would have rejected this amount of work for other customers. I have a feeling they might only do large scale repairs if they can get them on camera.

If Ryan knew how much rust and bodge there would be back at the start, I’m sure Tim would have said “bin it, I’ll buy a decent one!” as there is no historic value for this car. However, you’ve got to admire Ryan’s patience as well as fabrication skills. Keep them coming, there will be plenty more episodes I’m sure 👍

As a 914 owner, I watch these videos with a combination of horror at the state of disrepair of this car and the way in which it is still expertly repaired. But you would have to say that the cost of this restoration will far exceed the value of the car. Just the hours spent on bodywork is unbelievable.

So this is all great and all, but don’t you guys have rotisseries? This looks like some proper self-mortification to me. Also, get some dry ice to remove sound deadening. So much easier. And what about the laser machine? Don’t see that being used much anymore, isn’t it as good as advertised? I tried to get the body of my project laser cleaned, or rent a machine to do it myself. But it turned out so expensive that I went for the trusty sand blasting in the end. Must have been a good choice as you guys don’t even use it while you have one. And how is your dad doing? I like to see the master at work sometimes again 😊
