I love watching Americans reacting to uk comedians. Especially because like you said they are absolutely shocked and their faces are priceless. It's never not funny no matter how many times I've seen it so it never gets old. Hopefully you get what I mean by it never gets old

You are the funniest person on the planet, and tell your Mam that we all have a nurse that's a bit of a "cough."
@georginawatson9057
@georginawatson9057 8 месяцев назад
We've all also met a massive "cough" nurse or doctor that thinks they know absolutely everything. For instance they think that they know your body better than you do. Some of them even think that they know more about certain medical issues/conditions that you've been diagnosed with and dealing with for years and sometimes decades. Even though they've either never heard about it before or heard the name and had a slight idea what it was before they met you. Although now because they've met you and you've told them a bit about it and they decided to look it up on the internet for all of 10 minutes. They're all of a sudden an expert on this specific medical condition/problem and apparently everything that you've said and everything that you know about it and have been told about it by the actual expert is all of a sudden wrong. Or apparently you lying about certain things like how much pain it causes or your lying that certain things help and somethings make it worse. Apparently as well the expert didn't tell you or say to you to avoid/try something to see if it'd make a difference and the expert wouldn't/couldn't have ever said/told you what you said to the doctor. I've had literal arguments with doctors and nurses I'm A&E and even on the wards in the hospital. That I have and have been diagnosed with kidney stones and I got diagnosed at 14 but apparently according to some doctors/nurses I couldn't have them or had them because I was to young and only the elderly get them. I even had a certain nurse make me cry because I was still only 14ish at the time not long after I'd been diagnosed I got took in to hospital by an ambulance and they'd given me all sorts to try to help with the pain and try to stop me from being sick because nothing would stay down and I was dehydrated and in absolute agony with a high temperature and other stuff and in the end they ended up putting a canular in and that was a nightmare because of me being dehydrated but any way theyd tried getting me to take some oramorph and anti sickness but they literally came straight back up so they gave me anti sickness through the canular and gave me IV paracetamol and something else but that did absolutely nothing so they ended up giving me morphine and gave me the gas and air that's basically the stuff they give you in labour where you get the tube to suck on that's on like a big metal bottle just incase you didn't know what gas and air was but anyway they gave them to me and I was using the gas and Air as I needed it because they both really helped but as you can imagine I was high as a kite so I was trying to not use to much of it but because they'd given me them when I got to the hospital I had to go straight in to one of the bays and lay on the bed with the sides up and obviously the gas and air got took away by the paramedics in the ambulance but anyway I was stuck their waiting for at the least 4 hours because I was waiting for results and stuff so I pressed the button that they gave me just incase I needed anyone/anything and by that time the pain had come back with a vengeance because the painkillers where near enough worn off and I was fighting back tears and feeling like I was going to be sick again so I had to press the button and a nurse came and straight away you could just tell that she'd had a bad day or something and was in a foul mood so she asked why I'd pressed the button so I explained everything to her and told her that I had kidney stones and the pain was unbearable again so she asked me out of 10 what it was and I said 9 and that was it she told me that I was lying about the amount of pain that I was in and that I couldn't possibly be in that much pain because I'd had morphine and IV paracetamol so there was no way that I could be in pain and that I wat lying and there was no way that I had kidney stones because I was to young to have them so I even said to her that I have a date for key hole surgery in a couple of months but it was at a different hospital because my local one didn't have a child's specialist so I had to go to a different one about an hour away and that I really was in that much pain but by that point I'd started to cry because of the pain plus I was there by myself and a surgical doctor had only been to see me about 20 mins before that saying that they're sending me for another scan and x-ray to see if there was a stone stuck anywhere and if there was then it was very likely that I'd have to have emergency surgery to remove it so I was panicking about that plus I was there by myself and just to top it all off now a nurse was being really nasty and snotty with me telling me that I'm a liar she also said that I might have been able to fool and lie to the paramedics about how bad the pain was and that I had kidney stones just so I could get the morphine and gas & air just because I wanted it but at the hospital they have access to my medical records and they can do scans and x-rays there so they'll know that I'm lying so I wouldn't be getting anymore morphine, oramorph or strong painkillers so she basically had jumped down my throat and was dead snotty with me and told me that I was lying and that I shouldn't be lying about having kidney stones just because I wanted the really strong painkillers just so I could get high then she started going on about how bad kidney stone pain is and all the damage that they can cause and stuff trying to make me feel bad but luckily for me just as I went to try to say that I wasn't lying another nurse was walking past just as she raised her voice to me and just called me a liar so the other nurse came in to see what was happening and luckily this nurse had seen me in A&E a couple of times because of the kidney stones causing pain and infections so the other nurse tried to tell her that I was lying about the amount of pain that I was in and also lying about the kidney stones just so I could try to get more painkillers so I could get high and thankfully because the second nurse had met/dealt with me a few times she stopped her and told her that she knew me and I did have kidney stones and that she believes that my pain was a 9 out of 10 because she'd never seen me crying because of the pain and told the other nurse that she'd deal with me and someone else needed her help and when the first nurse left the other one felt so bad and just kept apologising profusely for how the other nurse treated/spoke to me and asked why I pressed the button and I explained and bless her she went straight to the doctors and got them to prescribe me something and told them about the other nurse then straight away went to go get the medication for me and came straight back to me with one of the doctors and obviously they wanted to know what happened and spoke to me whilst the nurse gave me the meds and when she'd finished the doctor asked if I wanted her to stay whilst explaining what had happened because they could see that I was really upset and worked up because of what had happened and the doctor was lovely and even she kept apologising to me but you could tell that she was quite angry about it but I stupidly felt guilty for getting the nurse in trouble at work and the doctor told me not to worry because I won't see that nurse again whilst I was there and that specific nurse wasn't allowed in my bay unless it was an emergency and I'm sure that the doctors made her apologise to me as well because she come back with the other nurse with her and apologised to me for calling me a liar and drug addict I'm so sorry I didn't realise how long this comment got but I really really needed that rant it was about 12 ish years ago but I've never actually told anyone 100% of the story like I just did because as you can imagine my family and foster family and social worker that I had at the time wouldn't have taken so kindly to her accusing me of being a drug addict but even though it was that long ago it still gets me unbelievably angry about it and sorry again about the length of my comment

Oh this was just priceless. My mother is a refined lady as your mum. And hearing this made me laugh so hard. She was so flustered when she was found that she had purchased 'beer' sausages. 😅 She also rarely curses. So when she says Damn it startles everyone. 😂 My mother is more like your in laws. I'm hoping I have enough battery life left to make it to 60 years old. She will probably still be going energizer bunny she is. 😅😅😅

Since retiring my mum has a better social life than I do! She retired early (59) during my masters year, so we basically swapped places. I work and sleep, she has coffee mornings, running clubs, meals out etc. Though I still have the stamina to have a drink or 4 past 7pm on a school night and get up for work the next morning no problem 😂
