This was the same relationship I had with my moma...she was an old school nurse and I was a party girl....she raised me by herself and I was an only child. We loved each other with a passion but fought really hard, if I had ten hours to spend telling what a wonderful moma she was, it still wouldn't be enough time....5 yrs ago, she could no longer by herself and the Lord mercifully granted us 3 yrs of peace and love to round out her life..she passed away on February 21, 2020...life for me without her has been the hardest thing I've ever had to endure but praise to the Lord, He has walked hand in hand with me...
The Judds were a big part of my childhood so this is extremely tragic for me. I still have every cassette tapes and CDs they ever made. Rip Naomi. Thank you for your amazing music talent
R.I.P Naomi. My heart goes out to both Wynonna and Ashley. I hope that just like her diagnosis of Hepatitis C was used for good and to bring awareness and to end some of the stigma attatched, her death will be used in the same way. The Judds are part of rhe soundtrack of my childhood. It was not my music, but my moms and now it always makes me feel nostalgic and wistful for the simpler times of the 80s, before the internet before cell phones, when kids always played outside on their blocks and their parents felt safe letting them do it. The Judds were the foundation that some of the most influential names in country music built their own sound. There are so many famous Country singers that you can hear The Judds influence. They will always be considered to be one of the all time greats. I truly pray for peace and healing for the Judd sisters and all those that loved Naomi. She will truly be missed 💔💔💔

I used to listen to their songs back when I was 11 yrs old in 1987, 88 all the way to 90's. I'd listen to their song on a tape on my sister's Sony Walkman. Listened to some singers too like Don Williams,, Eddie Rabbit, Dan Seals, Cat Stevens, Glen Frey, The Eagles, Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn, Donna Fargo, Tammy Wynette, etc. Aaah memories. 😁😊😊
Its hard being a mom and knowing how to do everything right, we make mistakes along the way but we are mimma bears if anyone tries to hurt our younguns. Naomi loved her girls more than anything she will always be in their hearts. I hope god will help the hurt they are feeling now

Goes to show, mother was right. Wynonna resisted but mother led her straight. A child she didn't expect and who's father rejected, yet Naomi gave her the world. That's a mother's love.

I will always feel deeply grateful to have seen The Judds perform live at the Greek Theater w/ my dear sister. They were fantastic!- and so fun & funny. Winonna kept teasing her mother about twirling all around the stage.
Having to give up what she absolutely loved, gave her her depression. Having to retire from her very successful life, not because she desires to do but because of Illness....it was not her choice but health's and this plays on your mind.....it was taken away from her‼️

There is another clip on YT where she speaks about "Grandpa"-- her Great Grandpa was a murderer who killed himself in front of his two sons; her Grandmother, Evie, she described as a "peach" who killed her husband (Naomi's Gpa) before running away with her lover, who "accidentally" died in an accident just a few months later. She said she thought of these memories every time they performed. I thought that was crazy how the actual meaning/inspiration behind a song that is a favorite of so, so, so many people is just such a crazy backstory... Naomi Judd, back in the 80’s, was one of the SMARTEST and MOST DRIVEN Country singers of the entire era! She was a hard worker...the engine that literally propelled The Judd’s to stardom. Having worked in radio back then, I honestly can’t remember one MALE singer who had the guts to do what she did to make it big in the music industry...
She and Michael married to young. Noooo, she married for the wrong reasons. My wife and I were younger then they were when we married. I just turned 18 and she just turned 17 a month before we married. It will be 43 years this coming June.
You all were lucky in love. I was married too young for me: I didn’t have the maturity then. I see couples who stayed together and although God’s grace still stayed with us , I earned a degree, have wonderful grown children, grandkids and so many joys- I still wish I’d of stayed married. The factory I worked at in the 80's had the radio on a country music station, I normally listen to rhythm and blues, I started listening to them, I like their song "Grandpa", it touched my ❤, made me reminisc about my own grandfather, my condolences to their family, rest in peace Naomi.

The one thing she didn't win was the ability to be happy. If you you lose joy and feel hopeless then none of those things mean anything to her. It's terrible and at the very least, people who don't believe in depression may open their eyes that no matter how much great things in your life, it can mean nothing. I've dealt with depression and at times it is so severe that there's nothing I could have that would allow me to appreciate it. It's a cruel disease. It's almost as if there's a wall in front of your brain that will not let anything positive pass through. RIP, Naomi. You didn't deserve this illness nor does anyone else.
I haven’t watched this yet but I wish there was an updated version. Everyone gets more of a grip on things of the past as they age, people often get more transparent. Naomi began speaking of her sexual abuse trauma etc. Generational trauma. Speaking the truth is how we heal. Rest In Peace.

Kindness for anyone with mental illness. It is like a humongous bear over you everyday. Unfortunately the illness will eventually take over no matter how hard a person fights it. I've seen it with 3 family members. Regardless of what anyone says or does the illness is most frustrating & unpredictable.
They got their start when Wynonna was 18 and she and her mom won the mother daughter pageant back in the 1980's. If it wasn't for them entering that pageant who knows where they'd be today.

Being a DJ at countless radio stations all over the country playing their music and also in the Army from Florida, Nashville, New York to California back at concerts and writing stories as a broadcaster and marveling at the beautiful talented ladies but as with every else in life there were good and bad points But we hope and pray 🙏 for the entire family The Judd’s. 🙏
I wonder how much nurses made where she was, back then. My mom is a nurse. Since 87 or 88. I think she said her very first job as an RN was like 8.50, maybe 10.50. At a small hospital in central Florida. 💕

Amazing talent and ambition. I wish I had that drive to write. I always say someday. Naomi had so many losses which could have caused her depression. Also could have had had Aspergers which enabled her to prosper in her talent. Many writers and singers have a hard time socializing but they sure can sing. Only God knows Why!
From working with Asperger's students, I don't think she had it. After finding out she was sexually molested as a 3 year old, I think that's what affected her. Theres a great Interview on you tube, with Naomi, and one of the news show hosts.
