This is one of those programs that was simply too good for television. Julie herself said “it was like the viewer had to wear a tuxedo just to watch our show!” By the time they won their seven Emmy Awards in May 1973, they had already been cancelled.
I saw Robert Goulet sing in Sydney, Melbourne and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, this huge fan of Julie Andrews never saw her live. She is one classy lady with a superlative voice. How good is Cole Porter!
Wow! The fantastic vocal range of Julie was beautifully exhibited in this duet from Porgy and Bess! I could listen to that again and again! Superb! Brava!
I ditto that!!! I could also listen to Julie sing forever. UNFORTUNATELY a doctor slipped and destroyed that perfect gem!!! Now I only cry whenever I hear the recordings of what once was!
Aren't there original masters of these shows that the one or two-generation copies you got? I guess it's better than nothing. Robert Goulet was my favorite singer in the '60s.
Awesome tape ! Julie Andrews & Robert Goulet are perfect together ! Their rendition of “ Porgy and Bess” is magnificent, gives me goosebumps every single time....love them💕💕
Julie was Robert Goulet favourite costar they loved to sing and act together .Other artists he liked to sing with were Judy Garland and Barbara Cook among few others but Julie was his all time favourite and Robert Goulet and Carol Burnett were hers. Julie and Goulet were glorius singing together
@@lindamarsh3335 well she was very happily married at the time. And she doesn’t always choose the songs for the episodes. I’m sure she has a say but there’s so much she has to do every week. I’d be shocked if she chose every song too.

@@janetprizio8535 close enough. It was a LONG time ago. Don’t think I realized it was the show and my comment was about the actual play but either or it’s crazy to think this was so long ago
Don’t know about Julie’s feeling about Robert Goulet. She probably appreciated his voice, but he can’t hold a candle to her as a person. However, this is a great show. Wish we had these variety shows today. Are there any?!?
The only male musical comedy actors who were of Julie Andrews' and Robert Goulet's caliber were Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and Richard Burton and Gordon MacRae.
I never cared for the way Julie styled her hair. I don't know why. Its not a bad style but not my favorite. This one is better than the Sound of Music style though.
I was in a little theater production of Camalot in 78. I was a chorus singer and a dance extra. The women Director was as bad as Michael Curtis. Mean It was a nightmare. I had aspired to be a pop singer and some retired soap opera actor, at the rehabilitation center, I was to work on a High school diploma equivalent up there. He stated that they needed a chorus singer replacement. I ignorantly thought if I passed the audition I will be paid for the job. I thought it was professional. when I found out it was a volunteer, I felt duped. I could have walked out and I should have, but I wanted to learn the craft of the theater. I felt this was going to be a good education, a free acting school. It never worked out
