Hi Craig, thank you for your video as always interesting and professional. I immediately bought the detox shampoo to use it before the mask for at least the first six treatments, to be sure my hair is perfectly prepared ... but I don't want to overdo it as I always do 🤭... I have very very dry hair and after the k18 mask I use a leave in conditioner ( briogeo or gisou or moroccanoil) and an oil (moroccanoil or gisou) ... should I consider them "many products" to wash with a detox shampoo, or should I buy the ph maintenance shampoo and use that? I have no idea what is meant by "many products" build up on the hair ... Thank you and as always: bravo! 👏👏👏
Hi Laura, thanks for watching and for your kind comments, I really appreciate your support. So the detox shampoo is gentle enough to use every shampoo (I’ve been using it a lot and my bleached hair is very sensitive) it doesn’t strip the hair like some can. The product layering you’re doing is FAB and you’re using lines that have great formulations, so intermediate deep cleansing should suffice…the pH Maintenance would be a good addition but not essential. In a sentence - if your hair feels like it needs clarifying, go for it…you’re clearly someone who knows how to work a routine. 👨🏼🙌🏻✨
Thanks for the video Craig! One question: if I were to incorporate a purple shampoo in the routine, should it be done before or after the k18 shampoo, and which of the two formulas should I choose? (Oops that’s 2 questions 😅)
You’re most welcome, thanks for watching. I’d probably suggest doing your first shampoo with the purple shampoo. As for which one to choose…tricky to say without having you in front of me, it’s really down to what you want from it…
Hi Craig👋like you being a blondie. I have to say, I wanted to love K18 it was everything I want, no faff treatment, sadly my hair isn't liking it. I tried leave in conditioner afterwards because it was so dry and frizzy still made no difference. I only use now before toning my bleached hair.
Hi Lou. Thank you…I’m so into it, ha. Hmmm, I will say, it is accumulative in the hair, so it’s worth using it for a while (you may well have done so) conservatively to see. I’ve had clients that love the way it makes their hair feels, others that want more silliness/slip etc, who use other things over the top. The one thing we can be sure of with regular use is that hair will be up to 94% stronger…and I’m so here for that regardless of how my hair feels. Thanks for watching.
Hi Craig! Thanks so much for creating your wonderful and very helpful video. I only wash my hair once per week and have very hard, well water at home. In addition, I suffer from a very itchy scalp (which is itchy no matter whether I wash every day or once per week.) Would you recommend I use the clarifying k18 over the maintenance shampoo? I also have very porous, fine, thin, shoulder-length hair. Would it be best to use one pump of the mask or two given the high-porosity of my hair? TSM!
…and thank you for watching, I appreciate your support. I would probably suggest the detox - it will gently deep cleanse and ready your hair for the mask. It’s tricky for me to say how much mask anyone should use without being there in person - I’d suggest starting with 1 pump and seeing how you get on.

I just bought the ph prep shampoo very eager to try! Olaplex just isn't doing anything for my poor very bleached hair. I used the k18 mask today as my ends have been worse than usual and now after one go my hair is so much softer already. I'm wondering if since the shampoos remove build up in hair, how does the peptide ingredient benefit the hair at the same time. Hoping i've finally found something to let me grow my hair lol
Hi Xtina, thanks for watching. The detox shampoo is deep cleansing (and gets the hair in an optimum place for the mask!) but the formula isn’t stripping - I use it on all my bleach outs. Glad you’ve found peptide POWER! Keep me posted…. 👨🏻🙌🏻🧬
I experienced extreme frail dry breakage split ends look using Clarifying Shampoo K18 & OUAI to prepare for leave in conditioners mask of K18 and OUAI ...greatly disappointing/hair had breakage and found out it can strip the hair of moisture 😮Big raves on YT but going back to Moroccan Oil Products. ❤
Hi Mary, thanks for watching. Sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the Detox shampoo - I use it in the salon to take off all my colours/bleaching and I’ve not experienced it removing moisture. Glad you have something that works for you.

Hi there, thanks for watching….you can comment whenever you want! The detox shampoo is keratin safe - personally, I would get whoever is doing your keratin for you to recommend what they think is best to maintain it as there are LOTS of different sorts of treatments.

I used Olaplex shampoo and conditioner on all my clients for over 5 years - I haven’t used the Olaplex clarifying shampoo but what I can say is those %’s I quote in the video are from a clinical trial and very impressive. Both K18 shampoos have a micro-dose on the peptide in and seeing as it repairs at a deeper level than anything else, I’m now shampooing all my clients with one of the two.

Hi Craig, would you be able to advise me on their mist? I got the mist months ago and I have no idea how to use it at home! Do I spray it on after washing my hair as a leave-on like the mask? I am so confused... I only cover my grey hair at the salon and don't process hair at home at all. I don't want to waste the product, as I can't return it anymore. But can't find specific info/directions for the mist use at home.

Hello, how are you doing? Thank you for this video! I still wonder if the shampoo would be good for me. I have been using Alphosyl (coal tar) shampoo on my hair for 7 years as it's the only thing that works to make my psoriasis bearable. I also have curly hair so usually double shampoo, condition, cream curl and gel every 5-7 days (double shampoo works better than a single shampooing). So with this in mind, do you think replacing Alphosyl by the k18 detox shampoo would work? Any experience with k18 shampoo and psoriasis? (I am also on oral/injections for psoriasis but they unfortunately don't work that's why I keep using Alphosyl)
Hi there, all good here…hope you’re well, thanks for watching. The coal tar shampoo you’re using has a medicated effect, where as the K18 Detox shampoo is a clarifier - I have no experience of the new products on psoriasis and I’d advise you continue on with what gives you results.

@@elise49323 You’re most welcome. Side note - I have an extremely sensitive scalp, with dermatitis from time to time, both shampoos work for me but I still use my medicated products from time to time.
I wash once a week and have a problematic scalp. I have used both and I find that the Detox one works best for me. Since I only wash my hair once a week the stronger cleanser is better. This is the only shampoo I have used that allows me to get clean hair and scalp in one lather. Like you, I usually have to double wash. The salicylic acid and the low pH, I think it's 3.8-4.2, helps keep my scalp calm. If you tried one I'd go with the Detox.

Would I use the clarifying detox shampoo just once and then use the ph maintenance after that ? Or do I just use the detox before the mask each time ? Could I get away with just the maintenance instead of using the detox ? I do have hard water , but don’t use a lot of products .
Hi Christina, thanks for watching. The brilliant thing about K18 leave in mask is that will work whatever shampoo you use. The Detox is there to slot into a routine if you use a lot of product/and or have hard water, every 3rd shampoo should be enough…the rest of the time you could use the pH Maintenance.
Craig, can the clarifying shampooo take out toner, I got my hair highlingt and the toner that was use make my hair charcoal color instead of platium, colorist told me she can not make my hair highlight in the back platium cause is almost black and can not lift to white to match my silver in the front. thanks
Hi Martica. Sorry to hear you didn’t get what you expected. K18 Detox shampoo is “colour safe”, meaning it won’t remove your toner…some of the Malibu C products might be helpful but I’m afraid I don’t know enough about them to recommend. Using warmer water to shampoo with will often make toner fade faster. Good luck!
