mate that looked like southern channel .... thats not one very often used especially by a charters its longer to get through and curved in shape (you can see in this video the waves being taken on a slight right angle). Definitely lifejacket material .... good eye bro
that was a charter boat and they used the southern channel?... thats what happend to the big loss of life a few years ago ... that channel is far more dangerous than the northern
0:56 I don't know if there's enough time to catch the swimming pools as well 😂the Manukau bar is very dangerous , even the bar in Manukau is more dangerous😂, I went over the Manukau bar a couple times, on a calm day too but the waves come at you fast and they leap up at you they're steep and the bounce up from the bottom, I haven't been over the bar in Manukau ill probably just get thrown through the window😂
@@mitseraffej5812 the Manukau harbour bar is the sight of new Zealands worst shipping disaster, and isn't called the notorious Manukau bar for nothing , its shallow and very rough even on a Very calm day when we went over the bar we were free falling off waves for a couple of seconds, the waves leap up from nowhere and they can disappear from underneath the boat out of no where, the conditions are like if you were jogging with a bucket of water, the waves leap up into you from all angles and they crash into each other, and when the tides going out or is out huge sets of waves about 15 feet tall in groups sit there rolling in one spot, a terrifying yet amazing sight, if your engine breaks down in that moment you'll get dragged into them and killed
@@Insert.anger50 I’ve regularly cross the Manukau bar to fish. The Coast guard radio channel used for the bar watch covers south to Kawhia and north to Kaipara. Seldom hear boats coming out of Kawhia, mostly only on the most benign of days.
