I hope Coach Deboer gets a pocket size when to go for 2 chart and when we score a touchdown in the fourth quarter consults it and not before. These decisions should be made before the game, not in the heat of battle.
Can’t even watch this after Nashville! It’s not that Alabama lost but HOW THEY LOST. On HEY Coach Wednesday night, a caller talked about the disappointment of Bear Bryant’s 1975 team opening with a loss to big underdog Missouri. I attended that game at Legion Field and didn’t die because Alabama lost as I’m still supporting the Tide almost 50 years later. Losses to big underdogs happen, but sadly I’m seeing a lot of TOXIC NIL IMPACTS NOW. I hope Alabama beats South Carolina and we don’t experience other NIL quitters.
I remember that game well. It was on a Monday, which was rare back then. We thought they would win by 30, but only scored 7 points and lost 20-7. That was a very big upset and might have cost Alabama a National Championship.
This wasn’t just on the defense. How the hell you not know that 2 players with the same number can’t be on the field at the same time? Flag on the play, ball back to vandy and the rest is history.
Both success and failure can get us off center. Stop teaching the players to celebrate during the game. We are Alabama football. We recruit good players and coach them up. Making big plays is normal for us. Play the next play.
Alabama is starting to look like old Miami Hurricane thug ball. Stop showboating. Play the next play. What would you think if the flight crew came dancing through the isle after getting the plane to its destination? This is Alabama football. Act like you've been there before.
