@@Stuka87 it strongly depends. The first electric VW EVs hadn’t temperature controlled batteries, and they were absolutely fine in winter…..because they used expensive hybrid cells, which have a quite broad temperature field they work and load in. Maybe the Kandi had those cells, too? 😂🙈
That looked like fun. I was surprised about how bad the 500 was, I always thought the 500 was Fiats answer to the Mini Cooper. The 2CV was as expected, its name is Two Horses so that's truth in advertising.
@@exoticargeo Thanks, you are right. The 500 came out in 1957. In the video they mentioned 1971 which I now assume is when theirs was built. In the 1950s Europe was still recovering from WWII so it made sense that they would be building cars with lawn mower engines. But in 1971 it seems surprising that they hadn't upped the HP a bit.
This was a great video. Reminded me of the series they had on the track when Roman would select a race and they'll do it. Great, hilarious presentation and I'll admit, I've watched it twice!
Time to hack into the speed sensor and half the voltage(assuming that’s how it works). That would theoretically half the speed at speedometer and maybe get a 70mph top.
That was fun, but sadly you guys haven't got another important people's car the Trabant 601s (Trabbi) there! It probably would have nailed it: the 26 hp 2 stroke engine got more torque and the car itself is lighter than the 2CV. I'm looking forward, once you will bring one to your show😊
@TFLcar you guys should try a drag race with the kandi in reverse. Maybe the speed limiter will only work going forward, and you’ll be able to go faster in reverse.
If you ever needed an engine for those classic cars, a Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle engine might fit and would definitely be an improvement (146hp for the older 2300cc and 165hp for the newer 2500cc)
Push it off a cliff. They actually had it up to 50mph on their first drive, somehow. Downhill? But it needs the ecu to be cracked to remove the limiter.
A Ferret Scout Car does high 29s, outperformed by an archaic miltary vehicle that would do over 50mph flat out. I have seen proof of concept,, the Fiat just needs a a 13B rotary. The Froggy thing?? Replace the door handles as the lean on them cornering. The 'real' cars are running at a disadvantage, mile high air will not help at all.

My vote goes for the Fiat 500, it taught me how to appreciate driving to a new level. Slow, temperamental, noisy, yet so lovable, probably as close being as a car can get to being human ...
I'd like to see how that Kandi does with the speed unlocked. I'm sure it's not great, but might be worth the 5k at that point. At the very least the batteries and components are worth close to that. Way cheaper than the cost of a new golf cart. I'd honestly see if I could convert that thing into one, or something else, if the speed limiter can't be cracked.

If I had to pick between these cars it would be a tough choice between the 2CV and the 500. I'd probably go with the 2CV because of the ride and the full roof open top. Both great cars though. The best fix for the Kandy would be a stick of dynamite 😁
Funniest videos ever! I was going to suggest getting a horse to pull the Kandi but after watching this i have determined the best course of action is to sell it as a golf cart... Maybe even mount some golf bag holders
I think you guys bought this car only for entertainment because its simply horrible i cant imagine suggesting someone this "car". besides that the other two are horrible too😅😂.
