This is a masterpiece. The only thing you left out was the short time Kane spent practicing dentistry.

I never knew I needed an anime adaptation of this story line till now.

There's never been nor will there ever be a wrestler with such a complex and fleshed out back story.

Also Undertakers original ring name was “Kane The Undertaker”. Till they dropped the Kane name. I always thought it was Genius of WWF/E giving Undertakers brother the Kane name because that name is connected to Undertaker from the beginning.

Damn, that's a hell of a journey. I'm not even a wrestling fan, but these two have always fascinated me.

Arguably the greatest story in the history of professional wrestling.

I love how you go about telling this story as straight as possible but even you couldn't explain the Higher Power being Mr. McMahon twist.

After All This Storied History, there is no doubt that Undertaker and Kane should ONLY be inducted into the HOF by each other.

Man I forgot about a lot of this. I never connected all the dots before. Great work. Further evidence that the Undertaker character is the best of all time, I really don't think anyone else has such an intricate story. Undertaker is basically Batman, Solomon Grundy, Ghost Rider and Aleister Crowley all rolled into one.

Great video minus a few mishaps with the timeline! Kane beat Rey Mysterio for the title. The Tag Team Wyatt Family battle happened after the streak ended. Undertaker won the 1st Buried Alive match despite being buried afterwards. Still a very enjoyable video though! Great job!

I love this entire breakdown but I have to be a little bit of an asshole and make a tiny correction. Undertaker actually won the buried alive match against mankind. Undertaker had dumped enough dirt for the ref to ring the bell in his victory but not to completely cover mankind. After the bell rang was when all the heels jumped him and buried him alive

Good job over all but you missed a few things. 1. Bearer reunited with Mankind in 1998. He and Kane won the tag team titles, then lost them to Steve Austin and Taker. Kane betrayed Mankind to reunite with his brother. They even attacked Paul Bearer. 2. They won the WWF title at Breakdown which lead to their break up, as they had to fight for the now vacated title at the following ppv. Bearer reunited with Taker here, thinking he would win. 3. Taker committed Kane in late 98, which I just remembered. 4. Okay the Undertaker thinking he is a character angle would be abandoned because of Kane. I think Russo forgot Kane existed. 5. Bearer briefly reunited with Kane in early 2000, then disappeared. 6. Kane had a feud with Taker in 2000. In a match at Summerslam 2000, taking Kane's mask. 7. Edge is not a vampire, he lead s gothic lifestyle. 8. As Taker,'s powers drained in 2010, he reunited with Bearer. Bearer betrayed Taker at Hell In A Cell 2010 and reunited with Kane. Bearer disappeared after Randy Orton locked him in a freezer. 9. Finally after the final death of Paul Bearer. CM Punk insulted Bearer's memory leading to Kane attacking Punk and Taker helping his brother. Whew that is a lot. You did good catching everything you did.

You know, if you really lay out like this, Wrestling is really, really dumb and I love it

I think that was by far one of the best wrestling videos I’ve ever seen it done a excellent job of telling the story of the undertaker and Kane and sadly as much havoc as the Brothers of destruction reeked during their time in the wwf/wwe I believe their time as two of the top attractions in the company is up and they both are ready to move on with their lives and pursue new things except for a random appearance here and there

There's 1 thing that confused me though undertaker was the one who started the fire not kane...

Masterful storytelling at it's finest. So good, that it even intertwined with another masterful storyline (HBK & Triple H.) Very rarely do you see two master storylines mesh together so perfectly longterm. But those two did. Love that WWE is getting back to this with Cody finishing the story. A great story enhances everything.

I'm so using this as a bedtime story for my kids one day

Hell yes! I honestly prefer 97-98 Paul Bearer with no makeup compared to the OOOOOHHH YEEESS. Don't get me wrong, the makeup and voice from then is still iconic and deserves to be remembered, but my god, Paul Bearer's promos from around 97, especially where he tells the story of the Funeral Home burning down are brilliant. He was also probably one of the most hated heels at this time, like after Royal Rumble 98, after Kane had set the casket on fire, the music plays: people cheer and they think it's Taker, then bam! The second Paul walks out, erupts into boos.

I'm a reader.....this would be a heck of a graphic novel. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Good job!!!🎉🎉🎉

Hey there! Do you recommend the book? The comic has overwhelmingly good reviews so that IS a must read, but Kane's book doesn't have the same reaction and I really wanna get a lil more insight into it beforehand. I'm interested in something that deepens the kayfabe itself; the story of the characters outside both the ring itself and the people who portray them. Does the book achieve that goal?

The end of the Streak is still one of the most heart wrenching choices they couldve ever made

1.) Undertaker won the buried alive match against Mankind, but got ambushed by Bearer's goons & thrown into Mankind's grave 2.) Taker finally broke his promise to not fight Kane after Kane desecrated their parents grave

I knew about the novel about Kane (which I've read more times then I care to remember) but I never knew about the one about Undertaker 😮😮😮

The title of this video alone made me subscribe. I often think about wrestlers kayfabe backgrounds and histories (when it was still a thing) and though I know their history, I'm counting on this to be a good video. Edit: After watching I'm glad I did, I hope there's more of these in the future, though I'm not sure how anything could compete with this story.

When the undertaker began to threaten Vince McMahon, Vince, becoming more and more paranoid through his feud with Steve Austin, would be enticed by undertaker's evil powers. Taking note from Paul bearer, he started to utilize them for himself, being a mastermind for a plan to have undertaker take the title from Steve Austin so long as undertaker didn't physically harm Steph or Linda. He did offer his own daughter up thinking that she could draw his power but it was thwarted by Austin. However Vince had to protect his image as someone who would protect his family because there is a pending ipo for the company. Therefore he attempts to maintain good pr by accepting the botched wedding by Austin. once the deal for the WWE to go public was finalized and to take effect four months later along with Steve Austin losing the WWE title, vince's power trip got the best of him as it was now time to reveal to the world his rotting conscience.

This should be made into a movie!
