Back in late May, Myself and Maxson ( ‪@glitchFan2428‬ ) Decided to pay a visit up to The Keighley Bus Company, to try out some of the native elderly Volvo B7TL Plaxton Presidents - Which typically only operate school services on behalf of West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
During various holidays throughout the year, they occasionally make it out into public use, making for the perfect opportunity to grab a ride on them - This particular example from July 2001 was new to Burnley and Pendle as fleet number 2713 for "The X43" (Later known as The Witchway).
It's been with Keighley since 2012, With some light modifications made when it arrived (Including a repaint and some new interior branding), but this motor otherwise remains pretty much untouched from the day it was new, including it's carpeted ceilings and comfy 1990s style seats - It looks lovely, especially inside.
Enjoy a decent run on Dalesway, Putting this Euro 3 machine through it's paces.

I’d love to get these Euro 2 and 3 Presidents in Keighley although I know very little about their typical workings. And they’re going in September I think thanks to new electrics for Harrogate 36, once its B5s are refurbished What’s the best way for me to catch these old beauties?

@@ChilternTransportProductions These actually often make public appearances on the local routes out of Keighley when the schools aren't in - Pretty much all of the standard fleet (outside the Rosso examples) can and do operate public services on occasion. The most common one to see in public service is Y716 HRN, as it's actually in the modern livery, so they pretty much work it 6 days a week, week in, week out - But other common examples include PL51 LDX, PN02 XBT, and YD02 UMY, which all work pretty often. The other Y plates on the other hand, range from difficult, to nearly impossible to find in public service, apart from very occasionally during half terms (They mostly get laid up over the summer months). I'd say your best bet is to wait for the first half term after term restarts in September, and go for it - We scored 3 in one day (and would've gotten a fourth had we of not went to Bradford when it appeared) during a half term, which was when this was filmed.

@@kieranstravels The only problem with that is I fear they’ll be withdrawn by then. Otherwise I might just do that if I knew they’d still be around then

@@ChilternTransportProductions Paul Turner has already confirmed via Transdev Enthusiasts on Facebook that Keighley won't be modernising until the electrification of the depot beginning 2025, so it's likely the presidents are safe until at least December. Still, it's not a bad shout to try going down on a summer weekday at some point soon - If you are lucky, you could still score a decent few in a day, There's 4 out at the time I'm writing this!

@@kieranstravels Decent! Yeah, I might try one summer holiday and then you said October half term might be best afterwards? Although isn’t there one diagram somewhere that works onto a 62 and 64 in the peaks?

@@ChilternTransportProductions Burnley's B7 BVD semi regularly works Rosso routes on behalf of them - Though that, I rode it right through the pennines from Rawtenstall to Todmorden. The Keighley ones typically only do the K routes, as well as The Dalesway.
