The original take-off cult classic from the highly successful team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker (Airplane, The Naked Gun), this "uproariously funny [film]" (TV Guide) launched a thousand laughs and serves as a precursor to the raunch-fests of the '80s and the blockbuster success of the Farrelly Brothers films. Oh it was. America was a great place back then. we had a sense of humor, people had jobs, could own a car AND a home without literally working yourself to death.. basically, all im saying is i long for the days when a Man could be a Man, a Woman could be a Woman.. we could all laugh and drink a Willer without having to take out a fucking loan to buy it. or watch a movie without falling asleep in the first 10 minutes, because we all had to work 18 hours just to pay bills our parents paid with ease.

Hare Krishnas were known for handing out literature and selling flowers and incense. The joke is, as Hans-Christian points out, they loosen up by going out and getting drunk afterwards. Zucker, Zucker and Abrams feature Krishnas in both of the Airplanes movies.

Nope truth. Having a German mom and the privilege of staying in Germany our American beer is truly awful in comparison. American beer is a 'product' that by design doesn't fill you up. German beer is actually nutrient rich and if it doesn't fill you up the high alcohol content will lay you under the table. My German family calls it 'rice beer' and would usually drink 4 or 5 cases a day while on vacation here. Budweiser was their beer of choice.

Hare Krishna's play a role in not only this, but the two Airplane movies (also from Zucker, Zucker and Abrams). The commercial itself is a parody of the "It's Miller Time" commercials of the 70s.
