I feel you ,I am indian too and I weep everyday knowing the fact that I was born here and not in the beautiful fields and valleys of Ireland ,I always feel like my soul is trapped somewhere around Ireland .
India has its own rich history of pipes! @TheSnakeCharmer is proof that music transcends the barrier of culture. I live in California and I love Ireland too. It's on my bucket list :)
Good luck in this difficult time .. but remember we Celtic people have suffered so many invasions and troubles for more than a thousand years but our music has kept us as we are today .. so be strong
I'm 4th generation American and my family comes from Ireland and Scotland. The music is like a mother telling her long lost children to come home. I miss a home I never been to
I wouldn't call it the British Isles while in Ireland though, people may get a little agitated at the mere utterance of a title that seems to suggest British political dominion over both islands, in reality there are two separate geographic islands Great Britain which contains England,Scotland, Wales and Ireland containing The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the latter being a political entity part of the United Kingdom, which forms The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. Anyhow that was just a heads up, enjoy your visit and don't get yourself stabbed
The sheer delight of this music and show has made me through my crutches away, I get up on to my own 2 feet for the first time in almost 2 years, I kicked off my boots, I cleared the floor and got back to my old Ballet dancing, I did not miss a move or a step as I Flew around the room. when my wife and kids walked in after been out shopping, they the greatest shock of their lives, I put this down to the miracle of great music
Whenever the news are bad, whenever the sky is gray, whenever your mood is not the best, listen to Irish (Gaelic) Folk Music and you will feel much more better. Greetings from Austria!
The redhead on the violin... such beauty. Not just the aesthetics, but her joy, expressiveness... just wow. *ahem* So the beginning of Two Steps From Hell's "Away With Your Fairies" track is actually a rendition of "The Kesh Jig". You learn something new every day.

@@sl_721 Yes, and let's not forget the "Black irish" from Spain..."Hey Paddy, did you ever meet the Dada of Ignatius Jones? Well, neither did he...show me an Irish man who met his biological Dad..even Mommy can't remember who it was ."Irish, its what's NOT and never kept a job for 3 days running" Look at your sorry state
I have loved Celtic music for over 54 years. About 6 months ago I discovered my Great Grandfather was born in Northern Ireland. So I guess I came to love the music born within me from my paternal side. I was thrilled to learn of the connection.
Bagpipes are not associated with Ireland. Irish musicians play Uilleann (ill-an) pipes, which have a softer more soothing tone. Bagpipes are of Scottish origin.
I grew up listening to them with my grandma. Makes me feel proud of my Irish heritage. I have ancestors from Ireland who migrated over here to the states during the potatoe famine. My grandma would take me to shows like these when I was a young girl. I now own all of their cds
I'm not Irish... but its music ,language and accent have always been my top favourites among other nations. I genuinley admire the people as well... I remember I was so young when I heard this song... in Titanic?...maybe! Great work Girls! Love you xoxo
I ❤the Irish! And their music, warm and welcoming presence, talented musicians, wonderful dancers, wonderful dancing, their accents, the love they have for their families, CHEERY pub atmospheres, that they know how to PARTY, their cities, their castles... oh, who am I KIDDING?? I'm moving there! lol! One of my good friends is from Limerick, now living in Dublin. I also, have Celtic ancestry - Welsh, Scottish, and part Irish too, but I'm English, lol. Well, born, raised, and reside in England currently. THAT FABULOUS tin whistle, I ❤it! It's THE ONLY whistle that I could listen to it ALL DAY and not be MAD! This song is played in Titanic, while Jack and Rose are dancing, I think.

Do not know what happened that affected you this much, but always remember you are not alone. There are people who love you and care for you. Live is hard but also beautiful. God bless you and give you strength on your hardest times. I am a veteran who suffers from PTSD and have to face pain and depression every day. Look for your loved ones, and do not be afraid to look for help from them and / or professionals.
Ah! The 'oul spoons. When I was a young lad we had a 'bring a musical instrument to school' day. We didn't have any in the house at the time so me father handed me 2 spoons out of the drawer.............true story..... :D
My mom ma is from Ireland and her husband was from Denmark .. I remember old songs fishermen would come in from the sea they'd gather sing playing the spoons. Such beautiful memories near & dear to my heart.. My ma said I have a relative who is writer to magazine and other's who are old Irish relatives I always wanted to take my mom there..

I’m moving to Ireland in a little over a year and I’m so excited. It’s been my dream to go for years. Most of my family’s Irish on both sides and I’m so happy that I can finally do it.
This reminds me of back home. I heard this tune a good many times. I'm from Newfoundland and the Irish roots are strong there still. People still play the Accordian, Spoons, Guitars, scattered Fiddle and they do a free style of Step Dance. Not as Complex as the traditional Irish dance but it's fun. I really enjoyed the music. Thank you for taking me back home. :)
