Actually, mainly reverse swing/dip. Starc is not 10 mph quicker, about 5 mph, still a difference but speed is not the only thing. Many other guys who can bowl almost as quick as Starc but they never beat the bat like he does. Malinga is another example who's yorkers dip a lot (used to, he's slow af now).
starc leads by speed ( 5-8 mph) and also the dip he creates... bumrah creates a difficult angle with his slingshot action... so starcy is the best....but yeah bumrah is also a great exponent... it would be gr8 if he could create the same dip
and yes an excellent observation....that it's exceptionally tough to play starc 's Yorker in a test whereas bumrah can unleash his Yorkers in the death overs only so it seems.. can u pinpoint how does he create that dip......
Round-ish arm action, not as low as malinga but he gets the ball to come from outside off and drop to middle/leg while Bumrah/Bhuvi sort of just angle it in which is easier to line up and get under.
One thing almost nobody mentions is the length of his arm. He makes full use of his arm length. If you want to bowl a perfect yorker like he does, check out Starc's and Bumrah's arm elongation at the last moment while bowling the yorker. They elongate their arms to reach the yorker length. I've got some dope results doing that. It makes things much easier. If you want another example, check out a footage of Waqar Younis' yorker ; he makes full use of his whole body, like driving his body towards the base of the stumps.
Agreed. That's right. It does make things easier. I have tried to copy both their actions and it was easier to get the yorker right with the arm stretched.
Negative people will always think negative.Tell me which player doesn't get any injury ? Even Sachin injured so many times, although he was a batsman.but starc is a bowler & bowler gets more injuries than a batsman.
Burmah seams the ball. Burma seams is always pointing straight down the wicket. Starc has seam towards fine leg. Starc is clearly class ahead Bumrah. Plus Burma's action seems to unorthodox.
Burma's action is pretty unorthodox. Not many would decide against bowling and decide upon killing Bangladeshis but that's what they do and it works. Strange how it works right?
