i cannot believe its this effortless to get professional information on skating from someone of your caliber. thank you Mr. Asta for helping the skate community
Hey Tom happy to report that with your help. after 3 nights of practising, I have landed 3 clean backside fifties on a rail. I'am 40 years old and never thought I would be able do to that in my life! Next I'm gonna work on backside smiths. Thanks Brother for the help!
Got back into skating last year at 32 and I watch ever video you drop! Growing up in the 90s as you know we didn't have this accessible and holy cow does taking your advice help! A real service you are doing for the skate community bro! Much love!
Man. When I was a kid I would’ve been amazed by this: one of the best pros in the world teaching you legit, practical tips right on your phone. For some reason I never learned feebles growing up, I don’t know why I neglected them. I guess it’s because The Incline Club skatepark (bike oriented) I was always at only had down-rails, I didn’t get many chances to skate flatbars, so I learned most tricks on down-rails. Feebles scared me in that context. Parks back in the early 2000s, in my area, were few and far between and mostly sucked. The parks today are so sick.
Subscribed! Love you Tom, been skating 13 years now, your videos helped me hold my back tails, finally got bs tail over the manny pad ledge at my local
You may not be the best nosegrinder in the world but you’re definitely one of them. And that’s why we all watch your videos. Thank you for what you doing 💯
Really enjoyed this one Tom 🤗. And to those watching(especially skateboarders), click that subscribe button already 🙏. You're all so lucky to be living in these times. Could only dream to watch weekly tip videos from a pro back in the 90s 😢
I needed this so bad. 38 abandoned impact for the most part and grew up with small town parks and the the big square rails. But they just built a new park with only round and I know in heart I could do feebs and smiths and 50 variations if I'd just quit being scared of the roundness. I can Smith ledges and feeb blocks and I've felt the cool roll over lock-in round rails provide cause I can front willy 😅 well on them at the new park surprisingly. But man I'm hoping these tips will help me with the confidence. Again I can Smith or 50 to front broad square rails but round is sketchy. (Edit: oh and boardslides on round have been no issue.)
Ayy thank you I prefer round bars also... And you should always throw in a gnarly trick at the end of your video it hypes me up so much. That fakie front krook to fr feeble was so sick. Gracias!! ❤
Right when he mentioned leaving out some tricks i immediately thought of noseslide. When I was a kid I never wanted to try those on any type of round rail. When u do a nose slide on a ledge there’s really no balanced involved u just slap it into place & gold all your weight over the foot that’s on the nose. Doing it on a rail seems like it would be a hell of a lot different. On a round rail u have to be balanced the second u get onto it
what you said about the front foot sticking to the rail on front feebles is exactly why I stopped doing them. Started happening and then just spooked me hahah
Thanks dawg , you have a great ability to hilight and breakdown the steps for learning new tricks , I am re learning at 40 , and your vids give me hope , inspo ,stay awesome dawg ,
Massive knowledge from the one Tom Asta!! Booyakasha!! Yeah, this type of content in the 90's would've made skating progress SO much faster back then. It's definitely helping it progress now, as we can all see daily. Thanks, Tom!! Glad U realized what an amazing tutorial and educational type of space RU-vid can be when utilized correctly. You're helping a LOT of people. Us old guys included. And our kids!! Lol.
Oh man, this vid was so amazing, if only I could give it two likes. I would like to see your approach to tricks such as bs smith and fs krooked grinds on rails/ledges. I look forward to part 2!
I was so happy that I literally kissed the screen when u mentioned the problem whit the heel doing front feebles ill try to do what you said today hopefully it works. And I love what you're doing keep up the great work 🎉🎉thank you.
Yo been watching your content for years on Instagram and was so hyped when i found your youtube months ago, because of videos like this i finally got confidence in grinding / sliding on ledges. sometimes even rails. Been an Flatground / Hip / Gap guy for most of my years of skating. now i can almost say i can do anything. Thanks for the nice videos! keep it up. Greetings from germany bro
Awesome content, thanks!!!!! It would be super super cool to get a close-up of what the trucks look like on the bar. Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!! I wonder what the skateboarding would be like if every Pro andn every Legend posted videos like yours(????), there wouldl be so many more radical skaters out there.... HAPPY SKATING FROM VB/VIRGINIA BEACH!!!! ✌😎✌ By way of the Inland Empire!!!!!
Man, this is the first vid i've seen of yours. But this is incredible information. As someone who's been skating a long time, i understood everything you said so easily. Now i'm hyped for a flat bar sesh. Thanks for this dude. Front crooks on ledges would be a good one to do! I've got them fakie, but can't do them regular to save my life.
Love this video, I’ve always had a hard time doing both feeble and smith grinds. This video motivated me to go to the local park and finally put some effort into learning them.
Awesome channel bro im 29 getting back after acl and meniscus surgery its been 2 years since and your videos have gotten me so pumped to just re learn again thanks boss!!
Have you ever done a backside 360 trick tip? I've always been fascinated by how yours looks so different than most people's at the highest point of the ollie.
very nice of you to prooduce content for youtube tom ! I think that this video is the one i learned the most from but i watched all the others too and enjoyed them just as this one. thx for the work and keep it going. Greets from germany 🛹
Youre soo good at explaining tricks man. I wish to have this fluency when I start up my youtube skating channel. Youre gonna hit 100k this year man I know it
Do you use stretches to warm up before you skate? What's your routine before you step on the board? I'm not much older than you and I have to stretch before I skate, but I do the bare minimum. I want to know your routine if you've got one.
i could do more stretching for sure..maybe ill put a vid out about that as well..but i take about 5-10 mins to stretch and loosen up before i actually step on the board. id have to make a vid cause i dont really know the names of stretches im doing lol THANKS for watching !
