What I found the creepiest about this place is that for some reason you cannot see the Erdtree from there. there is a fog effect that is unique to it and in spite of being so close to it the golden light wont reach it. like a god forsaken place.

Dominula was the place that really revealed just how ominous the reign of Queen Marika truly was. Playing souls games mostly has desensitized me to grotesqueness and decay but Elden Ring is different. In this game, there’s no such thing as hollowing so enemies that look like your typical zombie aren’t just decayed…they could be skinned alive. Dominula is a location where the culture is clearly present. This is made further evident since most of the daggers in the game aren’t designed to stab…but to “peel”, especially when you look closer at the designs of the black knives and Melina’s very own Blade of Calling, which bears a striking similarity to the Godskin Peeler. The skinning is most notably seen in the underground enemies, the crucifixions, the trolls, and even maybe….Godwyn….with his flesh residing under Stormveil… Going back to Dominula, I always wondered what the purpose of these windmills are and then it dawned on me. There is an item in the game called the Bewitching Branch. The description of the Branch reveals that Miquella learned how to “compel” love and affection. The secret to this is revealed when you look at the crafting materials needed to craft the item…blood… This brings me to my theory. There is a flower in the game that has a similar purpose, the “Arteria Leaf”. The description reads it “stirs the blood” and has an “enlivening effect” and if we look close, we can see Dominula’s most sinister secret….they grow all over the windmills…to drift the scent….tempting anyone passing by to come….closer…. “Please, don’t take my skin.”

What's amazing about the blue cape on the central virgins, it has the symbol of the black flame stitched into it, same as the emblem that flashes when you cast a Blackflame spell

Yes, finally! Finally somebody has POINTED OUT that the supposed to be maidens are in fact are old as dirt! Hell, when I read the clothes' description for the first time, my reaction was "Ugh if these old ladies are young girls then I am a queen of England". Even their VOICES! Listen to it! They sound so raspy, so old, I even tried to laugh like them to find out if a younger woman's voice can sound like that, well it was like more like a chimpanzee cry😂 The people in the Lands Between, they are all (not including tarnished) look so old and creepy with their extended limbs, their skin is full of not even wrinkles, but cysts, their hair are white and very rare. Though I don't why their arms and legs are so unnaturally long, but I hope you will find it out! Good job! Good job as always!❤

Remember thinking Midsommar when I stumbled across this place. It was the first time I encountered the Godskin Apostle, and immediately thought "oh...... homies skinning the men and starting a cult harem. Great"

I feel like you kinda glossed over why they all are so bloody around their mouths. Sure, they might not be cannibals, but they're all participating in something that leaves plenty of blood in their faces. And I was also hoping that you'd delve into some speculation as to why we only find them at Dominula and corpses of them at Hermit Village.

Rogier is wrong about the night of black knives. I can prove it but you have to have an open mind. Remember that NPCs are not reliable narrators, and can be manipulated themselves. Rogier is sleeping with Fia, that's where he gets his ideas about those who live in death. Sellen demonstrates how Sorcerers use glintstone to preserve their souls from death. So the use of the black knives didn't kill Rannis body but Godwyns soul. (Which doesn't really make sense anyway, how would that even work? It never works that way anywhere else) Ranni saved her soul using Glintstone, just like Sellen did. Something else is at play here. The answer is Fia the Deathbed companion. Who takes life from Tarnished (like ourselves, Rogier, and Lionel) to give to Godwyn and prevent him from truly dieing. Thats why he lives in death. Fia is the Human form of Fortissax. Who like her sister, became a Human. Lansseax became human to found the Dragon Cult and teach dragon incantations. Fortisseax became human to be with Godwyn. Godrick claims to be a descendant of Dragons, So Fortissax (as Fia) and Godwyn are his ancestors. Thats why when you enter the Deathbed Dream (its Fia's dream, shes the one who is sleeping, you interact with her, and the offical strategy guide specifcally calls it Fia's dream) you fight Fortissax. Its how Fia sees herself. And that's why YOU get the Great Rune, not D's brother. Because she was already dead when he got there. She died when you killed her in her dream. The Dragon Greyoll is accompanied by 5 or 6 (I cant remember exactly how many) dragons. When they die she is automatically killed as well. As if they were keeping her alive. They are her Deathbed companions. Lannseax's dragon bolt boosts offense. Lannseax being the offensively minded sister, while the Dragon bolt blessing boosts Defenses, which is from Fortissax, the defensively minded of the two. That incantation is at the Stormcaller church, which is at the site of the battle between Godwyn and Fortissax that ended with the two becoming friends. Rogier was manipulated by Fia and Godwyn who needed a Tarnished to become Elden Lord to put the Mending Rune of the Death Prince into the Elden Ring. I hope you read these. I feel like I'm sitting on the Elden Ring equivalent of the "Plot against the Gods" but no one wants to hear it because "that's not what Rogier said"

It's interesting how many people watch Elden Ring lore videos on RU-vid, yet there's next to no public, in-depth lore discussion & fascination as there was with Souls. Empty subreddits, lore posts never taken seriously, few discussions get more than a few replies. Could just be that the community has become lazy and relies on the content creators now, but subjects like that of this video really show why the game has had a fairly dead forum/reddit lore community since release day. The game's fun, it's beautiful. Yes. But that's it. Here's well made video, as always, but these little stories feel so uninteresting to me. There's not enough unifying the people & places in ER, despite the surface stuff about life & death. Every vignette like this is just "interesting", but it never reaches that sensation of thrilling interconnected emotional meaning that Dark Souls conveys. The game is simply too big, full of little "just so" scenes that come off as shallow because they're thrown in like Monster-Of-The-Week episodes: "now, here's some decrepit murderous virgins". Who cares?

I admire your confidence, but no, this is 100% wrong. Most obviously because you are ignoring the most important pieces of the puzzle, namely the unique woman holding a bone candle who acts as a spotter south of the site of grace, and more upsettingly, you are missing the unique house with three women dancing which can ONLY be reached after defeating the godskin. That is our lore prize for defeating the boss and yall just run right by it. I do think you get close to a likely answer. But it is absolutely not "horney grannies turn to snake man" like jfc, that's absurd. Let's try again. We see crucifixes but with flowers rather than bodies, suggesting they are celebrating not having to use the crucifixes in the traditional manner (at this particular time). Cool, well, let's tie that to y'all's observation about the harvesting of wheat. So, they used to harvest wheat but not anymore... Because no one eats anymore. Thus, they celebrate not having to do the normal sacrifices associated with growing & harvesting wheat because they no longer need to eat. Okay, but what about the skin? Well, how does Goldmask eat? Do you know why he's dressed the way he is? Are you familiar with the sun eaters? A much more likely answer is that the men asked them to. Y'all are also obviously not hip to the trick of the ghosts. They are always interchangable and more accurately describing a location elsewhere on the map occupied by a different ghost. Keep at it tho, even wrong answers are important. Y'all's thinking process & imagination are on the right track.
