I'm 15 years old and I want to be a homicide detective. It's been a passion of mine for probably around 4 years now, this has inspired me to follow through with this passion, thank you for the amazing video man!

Whatever one on here is saying is good advice. However what they're forgetting is to be a good detective you have to have good instincts. I was an investigator for 6 years, and I'mma tell you I've seen a lot of people who have college education not able to use common sense. Pay attention to details and if something doesn't sound right, always question it. Learn how to read people by their behavior and mannerisms. Have a general knowledge of your demographics and areas of investigation. Study cultures, backgrounds, and psychological profiles. Read up on the FBI's Criminal Behavior Unit in Quantico. I do wonder why all of that would be prevalent to an authentic investigator. Is prevalent because you don't want to be that one guy who causes an innocent person to get incarcerated. Bell very leery of witness testimony. People don't pay attention and they tend to jump to conclusions a lot!

If you are indeed the age you say and you are indeed interested in being a homicide detective you need to be aware of a few things. First and foremost, you will be traumatized and damaged by the things you will see and experience. This will prematurely age you physically. It will also put a tremendous amount of strain on you emotionally and mentally. You should talk to a psychologist who works with law enforcement so you can get some of the stories they hear. The next I would say is if you aren’t already street smart by the age of 14 then you might not have what it takes. In order for anyone in law enforcement to be an investigator they have to be able to think how a criminal would. This can cause damage to your mental health for a multitude of reasons. Also, you will be a professional liar, all cops are allowed to lie in order to extract information. The only problem with this is that you will begin to lie all the time. It happens to everyone. Only a psychopath or sociopath can be a police officer without taking emotional and mental damage from the trauma. EDIT: I worked as a police officer until I became a father.

I lived up near Cleveland for many years. I left a couple of years after the third teenager was kidnapped by Ariel Castro. Not long after I left, 11 women's bodies were discovered in Anthony Sowell's house and buried in his yard. At the time, I was in a custody battle for 3 of my kids, and the court was trying to make me move back to the area! I had a one year old daughter then, and the three girls were still missing. I told them to pound sand if they think I'd ever move back! I wasn't about to put not only my life and safety in danger, but my daughter's, too! It was bad enough that my boys lived up there. I spent nearly a decade worried that everytime a 216 or 440 area code popped up on my phone, it was the police calling to tell me one or more of my boys were dead or dying. The cops up there were awful and very unhelpful with the situation.

Serial killers go all the way back to the '30s with the Torso Killer aka Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run "The Flats." Now I'm 45 years old and grew up mostly in Ga, joined the Marines in '97 myself. When I played outside i had a fascination with that house and never knew why...until now. he been killing since he was young and then went to prison for a short time...then the killing stopped until he was released back on the streets. Me and my mother used to catch the bus from Coventry over to Page Ave...then I would spend the night most nights because it was too dark for a mother and kid to be walking through East Clev. That was my home away from home. There was always a strange smell but was too little to put two and two together. My God mother probably knew ...maybe that's why she never let me come outside alone.

@@tonyharden7630 Have u ever looked at the statistics between E.Clev.and Mentor? They go by per capita of every 1,000 people and E.Clev.has 17-18k pop.like u said and still has a higher probably % rate of being a victim of a violent crime then the 50k+ in Mentor. Now the % is close between the 2 but then again one has over double the population.I'll go walk any street any time of the day in Mentor even the so called "ghetto of Mentor the headlands" Ive done it.Your analogy of using Mentor a town that has had 8 murders since 2009.Where as our ghost town with less than half their population had 17-22 last year and at 15 for the year now. E.Cleveland in the top 10 worst cities for crime in Ohio.Mentor is almost 40th.We see enough those white preppy Mentor people out here wit they Cardinal stickers in the windows driving around buying their dope. Now u right most of the time common sense is more people more crime but petty theft and theft holds the biggest % of crime in Mentor.Whats businesses have to do wit the crime out here? I dont understand what that has anything to do wit? Y'all dont have a clue about the $#it going on out here cause they dont put any of the $#it in the news when its coming out of East Cleveland when the last time you heard of a murder coming out of East Cleveland on the news? But they happening.Over the last month in North Collingwood theirs been 9 armed robberies probably more by now been told its the waste 5 n dirty 30's.Over at the courts they jacked 3 buyers for their rides just over the last 2 weeks but you dont u hear bout none of it in the paper, t.v.news anything.Out of sight out of mind dont talk bout it then no one will ever know its happening. Now see an outbreak of armed robberies happen in Mentor or people getting jacked for their rides and see how fast its on the news. You was right about Parma etc.etc but then again its only common sense to know more people more crime thats not difficult to figure out but our ghost town still has a higher probability %rates of becoming a victim of a violent crime per every 1,000 people than a lot of cities in Ohio even with higher populations.Thats a fact sir.

There will Never be a society of completely equal humans. It just doesn't work that way... everybody can't be rich and famous or it wouldn't mean anything, and there has to be people to mop the floors and take care of the trash. The beauty of America is that your lot in life is largely tied to your ambition, which varies greatly person to person. Unfortunately, parts of the government have convinced a large swath of the population to give them more and more power in exchange for that gov't stealing from everybody else and handing out crumbs in return. "Keep me in power in exchange for project housing, no jobs, and some free food" - modern slavery if you ask me. That's basically the same exchange, they just put the whips away and started pretending to care instead.

And the ending broke my heart into pieces hearing her son say he cries cause he misses her.
