Sparked by electrical transmission lines and fueled by 100-mile-per-hour winds racing across the Mayacamas Mountains, wildfire-ravaged thousands of acres and hundreds of buildings for seven days. Empirical weather analysis and fire behavior forecasting coupled with heroic firefighting made this a model for responding to wildfires that continue to threaten California. It has become apparent that we must document and share what occurred to better prepare future generations. This is the story of The Kincade Fire.
