It’s only as good as RB stays away. So as long as RP is a meta tyrant, we won’t see a lot of RB so it’s safer to play SteelSong. Steelsong also has a harder MU against RP though. So SteelSong in a good place, but when GS is gone, that’s going to hurt how good it is since it is so strong against GS.

Banning a card is NOT only about power level issues. As was pointed out in the video, WHEN Bucky hits, it's nigh unbeatable. When it doesn't hit, it can be very underwhelming. Theoretically, this is the balance point. The deck is either great, or it isn't. The problem with Bucky was NEVER it being dominant, but rather it keeping so many decks out of the running. Discard as a focused archetype is just a bad idea, especially when it can be paired with removal as is the case with the E/St deck. You have to play to the board to escape the Emerald discard, but then you get hit by the Steel removal. It makes for a situation, that against a lot of decks, you're not ao much Plating a card game as you're watching someone plat Solitaire, while you just hope to topdeck well enough to squeak out a win. Bucky was a problem since set 2. He would have only become oppressive as new sets were added, if left untouched.

@@SummerAustria and yet, I'll answer because you don't seem to understand how card games work. Ame/R is consistent. It's linear. That's the deck's biggest strength. It also ends up being it's greatest weakness, because players KNOW how to beat it. That's WHY it isn't a problem. Discard decks, regardless of Bucky, create horrible play patterns that turn the game into nothing but a topdeck race for the opponent to find anything to play to just hope for a chance to win. When the Bucky deck hits, it IS almost unbeatable. It is EXTREMELY hard to come back from your opponent building to their board, forcing you to lose a card, and then getting a card draw on your turn. If something like that was happening on turn 4, then it isn't so bad. But that happening on trun 2 IS gamebreaking. As for WHY Ame/R continues to dominate, well, that's not hard to understand. As I already mentioned, the deck is EXTREMELY linear. It has lots of outs even when mistakes are made. You can play sloppy and still win. The Bucky deck needs a better player overall, because again, for the millionth time, when the Bucky deck doesn't hit, it becomes considerably harder to starve your opponent out of the game. That, in turn, requires actual skill.
