this track was totally sensational at that time, and i'm still listening it in 2022. particularly i love the sound on the intro, it makes my heart thumped.
Gracias Hashem.
Man growing up with The King of Fighters series was, and still is, awesome. Great music, characters and gameplay for a fighting game. Will always remain my favourite fighting game franchise ever.
18 years have past and K.O.F 96 still is the best OST/AST for fighting games that ever existed!! 18 se passaram e K.O.F 96 ainda é o melhor OST/AST dos fighting games que já existiu!!
kof 96 playability was like when Raditz first stepped on earth in DBZ ..... it gave us such an overwhelming open minded idea of years of ultra epicity to come , ____ and they really delivered ... SNK really WAS THE BEST JAPAN COULD GIVE TO THE ENTIRE WORLD OF FIGHTING GAMES
@@bigshorty4855 KoF96 did try to break the mold by boldly cutting off many projectiles and interduced the rolling mechanic. I think if the devs had few more months of development/testing time it would have become a perfect expereince.
@ElBandito yea, it would have been 97 😂. 98 is basically a perfected 97. Actually, 96 with 97 superpause, comboing into command normals would have been fucking goat with 96's cast. The characters should ofcourse have said command normals and extra supers too though.
Those were the summer days when I played KOF. Man I remember that epic moment when I was playing KOF and after some minutes, a sudden dust storm appeared that darkened the sky and winds were blowing. Best part was it was during Esaka BGM stage ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Any of his songs in the Orochi Saga, Goodbye Esaka in 2000, Blaze in 2003, Esaka Remix in 2002 UM, Esaka Again in XIII and Yappari Esaka in the upcoming XIV (not released yet)
@GoosyGoose's Lair after some research he's quite a legendary drummer, esp in his solo. You might appreacite his work in Get'n Up for Women's Team AST in 96'
Pfft. You're just jealous that King of Fighters is still better than C(r)apcom in terms of AST and gameplay. In everything else however, Capcom still dominates.
Hear the arranged soundtrack from the King of Fighters compared to Capcom's OST for Street Fighter (2, not the one in 1987.) You can see that SNK put a lot of time on this part of the AST compared to Guile's theme. Guile's theme sounds like the arranged theme of Zero's theme from Mega Man X3. I think Esaka's theme is better than Guile's theme, but it's on par with Ryu's. As for the gameplay and aesthetics, SNK is still going strong, but Capcom still keeps the slow motion defeat at every game, and the problem is that it gets stale after quite a while. True, SNK's first games had the slow motion defeat too, but after KOF '98, they decided to alter it up a bit to make sure the fans are still on the ropes. My point is - and you can call it dumb if you want to - that SNK is still dominating Capcom in terms of gameplay, and arranged soundtrack, AKA AST. Capcom dominates in terms of art on their own characters.
Leon JO I'll take Seoul Road over this. But this one is still one of the best. The old SNK made the best fucking music for their games. Capcom couldn't hold a candle to SNK's music
Guilty Gear would like to have a word with you. But really, Goodbye Esaka has this trashed far as I'm concerned. Something about farewell songs that makes it have more punch.
This song got me listening to video game music waaaaayyyyy back in 2003/2004. It was the first time a game I had played years earlier, where I distinctly remembered the amazing soundtrack years after having played the game. It's because of this game's soundtrack that I've enjoyed branching out my musical tastes for almost 20 years. I owe A LOT to the KoF 96 OST and AST for starting me off on an amazing musical journey.
every time when i heard this song...reminds me those days in the arcades spending time not only with my friends also reminds me an age when the fighting games are in the glory and now in the 2020 withing for the KOF XV i realized i am privilege to live in that era.
3:41 - Power Emanation/Emanation Power - FEEL MY POWER!!! 3:06-3:18-3:41-3:57 - Melhores partes.
The look and feel of SNK style, the contemporary trends, and the soundtrack... Look of that they achieved back them!! They were heroes! There is nothing like that today. Maybe Yakuza games atmosphere comes second, but SNK was just 20 years ahead of their time.
Most of classic SNK design was about more than just the game, on the early 90's the ex-director of Street Fighter 1 wanted to do a game that heavily focuses on the story and presentation than anything else. But the thing is that Fatal Fury got shadowed by Street Fighter 2 that rocketed on his wacky characters and gameplay compared to the stiff gameplay that fatal fury had, less wacky characters and stupidly cheap ai. But SNK kept improving each year on their craft rather than releasing the same game over and over with minimal changes like Capcom did with Street Fighter 2
