Oh my gosh - how did they do it? How could the man hit THAT high note, which I [as an alto choir singer] can sing not without difficulties? King's Singers are and always will be perfect and unbelievable. If only I could sing like that too...
From Left to Right: 1st Counter-Tenor: Nigel Perrin, 2nd Counter-Tenor: Alistair Hume, Tenor 1: Bill Ives, Tenor 2: Anthony Holt, Baritone: Simon Carrigton, Bass: Brian Kay
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nothin' seems to fit Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' So, I just did me some talkin' to the sun And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Sleepin' on the job Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' But there's one thing I know The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me It won't be long 'til happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothing's worryin' me It won't be long 'til happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Crying's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothing's worryin' me. ... ... ... GOD does not have mercy, Marishka. HE JUST doesn't !
I could see how my comment could be miscontrued. Yes, Anthony Holt sings the melody, and he does so marvelousy, I just enjoyed Bill Ives harmony. I grew up with this group, courtesy of both my grandfather and father, and can probably name every single lineup in existence.
@SkyaRuna Countertenors for the win! XD I can get to high Bb and have it crisp and clean on a good day. Some days Ab is all my weary voice will allow though. What's insane is how Tim Waurick of Vocal Spectrum can high the G above female high C and keep going.
I've only heard Thompson a few times on his own, but I actually like Bill Ives better, from what I've heard. They are very similar, though. Bob Chilcott and Paul Phoenix sound much different, by comparison.
@ScottishgirlAnnlorie Anthony Holt sings the melody, not Bill Ives. Bill Ives is third in from the left. He sings Tenor1 :D but yes, this is a good lineup of the King's Singers.
