Seiko's latest release of the King Turtle comes without something. . . the cyclops! Take a look at the three latest iterations of turtle, complete with a sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel. longislandwatch.com/shop/?sea...
@@GunGuy258 it almost seems like its just one of those things we are taught when getting into the hobby. its always like “…its great except for the cyclops..”
I don’t need it, but my King Turtle Manta has it and it looks great, and is a nice change from other watches. The watch world can be such an echo chamber about certain things which end up unfairly panned.
The *king* turtle has always had sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel insert with a slightly different bezel grip. They're a premium cost vs the basic turtle line which has none of these things.
They're not *bad* at the price point considering the specs. Diver's cert 200m wr, sapphire, ceramic bezel, really premium bezel feel, wearability and legibility are great with this case design. The movement is nothing special but they typically keep good time. Shop around and you can find them for under 500 from an authorized dealer, which is quite fair for something that says Seiko on it. You can find all of that functionality for much less, sure, but this specific model has remained desirable because of how it performs. Many people love them.
