The Kinks, one of the most brilliant yet criminally underrated rock bands ever. Ray Davies has never received the credit he deserves as songwriter, and a singer. I saw them live three times in the late '70s & early '80s, and was never disappointed.

In the 60s there was rebellion. There were the Beatles and innovative nest. So were the Rolling Stones and then there were the rebellious Kinks without apology. They paid the price and remained noncompromising and today they still remain the same. And that is why they are relevant to this day.

I sat in the front row in Melbourne in June '64 at the Beatles concert, then the Stones in Feb '65. Sorry to say never saw perhaps the greatest band of them all: the Kinks; certainly the greatest song writers. And Yes Dave Davies is underrated as a Guitarist!. I still might get to see them as they are the only 60's Band with all members still alive!

Saw them in the late 70s at the Milwaukee Arena. It was right after they released Low Budget: still one of my favorite albums. Went with my girlfriend but most of my buddies didn’t want to go. Didn’t share my appreciation for them. They didn’t even sell out the relatively small venue but they put on a great show. My girlfriend became a fan.

The Kinks were such a special voice through the 60s & 70s. IMO Ray is a master songwriter, eclipsing Lennon/McCartney and the Glimmer Twins. Waterloo Sunset was the quintessential pop song of the era. BTW, Dave is an under-appreciated guitarist. He was the first one with metal chops.

Fascinating, unique, and genius in composing. I'm now 70 years old but still love the Kinks sound. I'm so grateful to grow up with their great music . Celloloid heroes are still around. One of my all time favorites and I come back here often to watch and listen to this... I still get ticked that Dave plays one of the best intros and lead guitar ever and they can't keep the camera on him.

They never seem to! The fans still joke that Ray always paid off the camera men to keep the camera on him! Sure seems that way!

@@HamiltonRb he didnt huh? again, go listen to his massive catalog. and remember, they didnt have the backing of Press or Record companies here in the America during the first 5 years of flux of English Invasion into the States.

@@jackthompson1974 We all have our favorites for sure, and loved the Kinks myself. Went on Rolling Stone's website to see how they rated the greatest for another viewpoint. They had Dylan as the best, then McCartney Lennon. Jagger/ Richards was at 6, Ray Davies was at 27, and for the commenter who likes Jackson Brown ( I do too), he was 37 in the top 100. Really who cares, we don't know them & they don't know us

One of the all time under rated bands ever. But I don't think that they give a damn. That makes them so much more special. Beautiful, silly and Bestest bands ever. Loved them live. They included each and every one of us. Not every band can claim that. Then again, they are not like every other band. Thanks guys.

Not sure how to put it. I'll try this: one of the livest live bands ever? 50,000 voices in a baseball stadium singing choruses together. I mean everybody! Always worked our way close to the stage before the Kinks' set. I'd turn and look around, everybody up and singing..la,la,la,la Lola, etc...

Great fucking song, one of the Kinks best❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’m going to be 70 years old tomorrow so I have been there from the beginning during the British Invasion 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I think they were underrated; Ray Davies and Dave Davies were and still are are brilliant!!!!!!
