@@kevinchandler179 absolutely 💯. I was just giving a simple shout out to the man. And the fact that he REFUSED to move forward without taking Stevie, that's foresight and an awesome human being. There's just really no way you can give too many attributes to this man.
You gentleman who are absolutely 100% correct in your comments about this versatile man. I've always been a fan of both him & other FWM band members (esp appreciate & am in awe of such talent (Christie McVey esp)but as a woman, I feel I must add this possibly sexist opinion & comment about Mr Buckingham. He sure was and still is a very sexy mo fo. Intelligence, charm, and ohh so talented & does it w/such finesse. What a fine man! Yes sirs. Just felt a need to add that. Goodnight 😊
What do you mean, that's how talented he is? Are you kidding me, any time someone leaves a band they replace them, if you are naive enough to think they replaced him with better talent, then you are on bath salts 🧂!!! Lol 😂😂I
People living from 1950s to present, have had the best of times, in my opinion. Note how it's all going tits up. Look back, not in anger, but with love and fondness, for an era that is now departed. God, I'm so lucky to have been a part of it.
Eh Stevie ? Lindsay slayed it with Mick coming a close 2nd. Amazing instrumental set. L.B. is soo underrated as a guitarist. He’s right up there with the likes of Clapton, Prince, Hendrix et al IMHO
@@patstocker3658 There is no denying Stevie’s impact on any number of things: Her voice, her aesthetic (which was so copied by girls in my high school days that I can’t even) and her talent. Lindsay is…how to put this politely…sex with a guitar. Vastly talented, in voice and in musicianship.
Nobody is enjoying himself more than the drummer in this clip, because he knows he is participating in one of the greatest hits of all time, in my opinion!!!!!
Being 66 ain’t too much fun. But looking back we were in a golden generation with so much great music to enjoy, and these playlists bring back the most awesome and poignant memories. I feel sorry for today’s generation with nothing but crap to listen to.
I heard on CBC today that Christine MCVie died at age 79. This is heartbreaking news. She was, and ever shall be, a magnificent songwriter, singer and performer. What a blessing for all of us that she graced us with her talent. Rest In peace, beautiful Christine.
Yes, I loved Christine. I actually love ALL of them. That band is fantastic. I really love this song!! I am so sorry about Christine. May God bless her....
@@cindymadden2830 I like all of them too. Without all of them together, they wouldn’t have been who they were or became. And Lindsey Buckingham? Oy vey. What a gorgeous specimen of a man.
I don't think in the history of music there has ever been a band with so many personal issues going on between band members AT THE SAME TIME. And fortunately for us, they turn that turmoil into some REALLY GREAT MUSIC.
Exactly, Peter Criss and Mick are my favorite drummers ever and underrated and underappreciated by far!!! Both, are why millions of people picked up drum sticks in the 70's and beyond!!!
This was my brother’s song. He died in a motorcycle accident in ‘78 at he age of 21. I still miss him, but when Lindsey starts to sing he brings back my brother for just a short while….
When American and British musicians get together this is what you get. One of the greatest bands ever to perform on stage. Their music will live forever.
Omg yes !!!! And when they do silver springs live and she stares straight into his soul when she says "you'll never get away from the sound of my voice that will haunt you"!!!!! And he literally could never escape it but you know it just shows how professional they all were because the tension was obvious but to spite that they didn't allow it to affect the live shows , in fact if anything it made the live performances that much more better and intense ❤ I never had the opportunity to see Fleetwood Mac live , however I just recently had the pleasure of seeing Stevie live in all her glory at 76 years old the amazing Gold dust Queen rocked out the arena and left us all with a wonderful timeless memory I will never ever forget❣️💯🥰
I love the smirk Stevie give Lindsey after the line " How can I ever change things that I feel". Says everything about their relationship. Amazing mix of talent... and in my opinion Christine Anne McVie has never received enough praise for your amazing vocal and keyboard contributions.
I know what you mean about the neighbors listening too. I have fond memories of being in college when this song was out. Everyone on the campus of Central Washington University would be playing this song, along with every other one on this album at full blast. . . . all day, every day. It was the best of times.
They were just so damn talented and influential to many bands!!! These guys, the original lineup Kiss, Zeppelin, The Who, AC/DC, Motorhead, and the Eagles are my personal favorites!!!! 👍
Yup I saw it too; it was a little more intense than that, with Christine just looking sad. At one point Stevie walks towards the drummer-was he the one she had an affair with? Amazing group dynamics. Fantastic performance. Stellar all around
Stevie turns to face him at the crucial point of the song and Lindsey kind of screws up his face to dare to glance at her . Lindsey wrote this song and Stevie said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine "I very much resented him telling the world that 'packing up, shacking up' with different men was all I wanted to do," she told Rolling Stone. "He knew it wasn't true. It was just an angry thing that he said.
Well, I love all of them, but Stevie and Lindsay were an item for years, so who knows 🤷♂️ what is true or not? I am not here to worry about a soap opera!!! Lol
F.M can only be one of the very greatest bands of all time.... Their songs are timeless, their musicality simply beyond any rational experience...Lindsay's guitar work has to be one of the most unique in style ever!! ...the vocal section is just a fairy dream with the rhythm and bass section simply 'untouchable' in the 'world' may I humbly add..Their presence and Christines keyboard presence is something us muso's can only dream about..... Song writing, vocals presence demeanour image and sheer unadulterated talent togetherness and aura go cap in glove with Fleetwood Mac....Take this band to your hearts because when the mould breaks .....it will be the end of music! Nigel H Seymour
I saw them in concert about 15yrs ago & they "Rocked" Really good live show. It wouldn't be the same without Christine. Such a talented women. RIP Christine..🌷💐
I'm an old man now..no expert in music..never been but.. I'm allowed to give my opinion..this is like a baby..its a creation..it never existed before these people came together..gave birth to something that is still here 40 years later.. collaboration... building... social evocative...spiritual.. emotional.. moving... beautiful..this is Godly.. light.. creation! Love
They were all on their A+ game that night. Words cannot describe this. You believe every word of what Lindsey is singing and it seems here that Stevie is in awe of Lindsey. The entire band is pushing each other to brilliance which is nothing short of amazing. Gives me chills how bout anyone else. Wow!
Not sure Stevie was in awe of Lindsey. Probably more reliving the fact that the song is written about her and dealing with the fact that it's a great frickin' song, even though she's painted in a terrible light.
I'm 73 now and I can still remember how in the mid 70' when this album helped me get through one of the most intense emotional crises I've ever been through. Thank you.
This band is so damn great that I don't actually have a favorite member, literally!!!! The girls are phenomenal, Lindsay Buckingham is absolutely 💯 percent a great front man and guitarist 🎸 and Mick on the drums 🥁, what else do I have to say about how great these guys are? Kiss, Zeppelin, The Who, AC/DC, these guys, Motorhead, and the Eagles are my personal favorites!!!!
@@zacnoordewier4882saw them just outside of Melbourne in the late 70s. They got on late and Stevie was completely wasted and was holding onto the mike stand like her life depended on it!
That is low key one of the greatest guitar solos in musical history. Just saying. Lindsay Buckingham doesnt get the respect he deserves when we talk about truly Great guitar players. And all without a pick!
Lindsey has a truly unique style way way way under appreciated.great songwriter as well. They certainly would have never been top of the mountain for a while without him
Lindsay Buckingham’s solo is superb but the drive from John McVie and Mick Fleetwood’s bass and drums is what raises this song to another level. It may be almost fifty years old, but nothing comes close.
Yes, Stevie, Lindsay, and Christine are great, but after listing to these great songs for nearly 50 years, I am more intently listening for John McVie's bass and, yes, Mick Fleetwood's drums. They tie these creative geniuses together.
@ericwilkins1621 Because, if you do your research Lindsay Buckingham is one of best guitarists 🎸 ever, and definitely most underrated and underappreciated!!! Thanks 👍
Yes, it's a real life soap opera. I remember seeing them play in London at the Rainbow just after Rumours was released and they were already in turmoil then. We juvenilely joked that Christine wasn't so perfect... The looks they were giving each other really added to the power of their performance. maybe that was their way of just getting through it all. Memorable, nearly half a century ago.
Despite the decades of interpersonal drama they had, when the five of them are playing live you can just feel how music is just absolutely their first love. Mick Fleetwood always looks like an ecstatic puppy. Their joy is so contagious. Their live performances never fail to bring me to tears.
I remember EXACTLY where I was and EXACTLY what I was doing when this album came out. I was 15, meeting "new" relatives in another province....If you REALLY look hard at the band, their eyes, their faces, the only one that appears to be having a "good time/grooving" is the drummer, the others are looking like it's a chore to be there. Do you think maybe the audience at the time picked up on this? I did, right off the bat. Stilll lovin their music, but this performance feels strained.
Silver Spring is the perfect companion piece to this song. They each take a turn telling each other to fuck off. Although, in this one, which is Lyndsays song, Stevie jumps in and sings the lines she hates the most RIGHT BACK AT HIM. Makes the song better as far as I am concerned
Fleetwood Mac along with other super-groups like The Eagles, Journey, Styx, and Van Halen shaped the music of the 80s and the genre that is Rock Music. There is nothing like them today and will probably never will be again.
I could watch Mick Fleetwood beating the drums all day. The energy, pain, intense look and excitement on his face as he strikes every beat of the drums. He really gets into the music.
I've seen over 600 bands in my life and my one true regret is never seeing Fleetwood Mac live.... It must have been an amazing experience! They are beyond talented...
Is there any other band who could make music like this? The perfect lyrics, the perfect instrumental, the perfect look, the perfect tension....just perfect
My late dad used to say ,"son sometimes you hear such a beautiful a song so good that it takes you away, your feet twitch involuntarily ", the best guitar riffs and drum combo I have ever heard.
@@trustnuthinman5778 Hard work? The best songs from bands were sometimes made and recorded in 5 minutes. The beatles said that. For electronic music nowadays you need to be half engineer nowadays (knowing the softwares inside and out. Also mixing and mastering). I'd say it is as hard as learning an instrument. It used to be alot easier to create music!
One of the greatest songs ever made, by one of the greatest rock bands in history! Your music will last forever, thank you Fleetwood Mac, true artist! RIP to the great Christine McVie, will never be forgotten
You should have heard them back in their early days when Peter Green was the guitar player. They were much more of a blues band then; Green was an incredible blues guitarist. Look him up online if you're into great guitar playing.
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song. Phenomenal group, Buckingham is out of this world on guitar, it’s like he is making love to that guitar on this song. There will never be another group like this.
