Absolutely not true. It's been well established that Logia fruits don't operate like that. Your misinterpretation is based on Caribou being hit by Luffy or Pekoms whereas the obvious explanation is that either of them simply used haki to punch him.

I feel you. Sadly, it had to be done. Oda was likely running short on time and the majority of the fan base didn't want the Paramount War to last too long. Hell, it lasted too long to begin with considering all that craziness that went on in on area. Remember that Marineford is only a single island and a drawn out fight between an Emperor of the Sea and the full power of the Navy would've completely obliterated the place which would be bad for the story. Also keep in mind that Sakazuki and Kuzan rendered Punk Hazard uninhabitable during their battle. In my opinion, Punk Hazard should've been completely destroyed, but I think Oda just wanted to make a Pokemon reference 😂. If you want to reference Naruto which was ALL war then let me explain how that worked. The only reason the Shinobi War lasted long as it did and still succeeded with the fans is because it involved A LOT of traveling. The Ninja from Naruto can get around faster than any car or even a plane in some cases. The war took place in numerous different locales therefore allowing the war to be drawn out with being complete nonsense that would probably upset the fans. I personally don't care for the Boruto arc. The movie alone made me hate it. Naruto and Sasuke had to be nerfed to the point of being equal to Yamcha for the movie to end correctly which is just poor production quality. Boruto honestly just sucks as a whole though.

I agree 100% and I think is the reason many fans trash the Whitebeard pirates or at least trash Marco vista and Jozu. Not that they were equal to the admirals and Mihawk but for what the manga provided, those three held there own and to me showed a feat that is still high compared to others.

The obvious solution to the escalation problem (starting off with Zabuza, ending with interdimensional alien queen) would be to bringing it back down to relatable levels. Imagine a world without large scale warfare, however, instead due to the instability caused by power vacuums (sound village without orichimaru ect.) we see the rise in modern day terrorism. Coupled with advances in ninja tech, more militant groups are allowed to cause havoc on much wider scale similar to the akatsuki. With this, you could see the return of *ACTUAL* ninja work by the Anbu black ops having a stronger role in keeping people safe. Maybe Naruto as hokage could have to deal with a the moral and societal consequences of having to rely heavily on wet work and extra judicial killings. Boruto, being a prodigy, could enlist in the Anbu and have to infiltrate various militant groups in order to protect Konaha while possibly having to balance allegiances between the them. Instead, we got naruto and sasuke part 2 with shittier versions of both fighting *ANOTHER* member of the alien clan

The main character is being overshadowed by his father quite similarly to Dragon Ball Super with Goku and both his kids. It's like Japanese writers these days can't let go of the original main characters for some reason.
