I rewatched the final sequence and Nick Nurse doesn't actually signal timeout until Tyrese is already on the floor and losing control of the ball. He holds his hands up before that during the inbounds, but seems to back off from signaling initially.

Two games ago it was OG Anunoby ripping a ball away from Kelly Oubre. Last night it was Deuce McBride ripping the ball away from Tyrese Maxey. The 76ers are letting the Knicks take these wins from them.

Kenny Smith called out the pushoff by Maxey on Hart in the TNT postgame report. Not a casual fan's take. Also, Nick Nurse does a pump fake for the first timeout, and only vehemently tries to call the 2nd timeout when the ball is out of Maxey's hand. Also, the Philadelphia challenge that got overturned to give them the ball was nonsense. Even Charles Barkley said that, and he is a Sixers fan. Sixers coaches, players and fans need to stop blaming the refs and take ownership that their team choked and lost the game. And this is with Knicks playing without Randle (the national media feeling sorry for Embiid but completely ignoring Knicks without Randle is infuriating). The Sixers have played the Knicks 6 times, and won 1 game. If you lose that many times to the same team in the same season, maybe you are not the better team.

Had they called the foul, Stephen A would be saying “You don’t make that call at that moment”.

SAS you are not a real Knicks fan. You’re rooting for whoever serves your purpose. ESPN needs to stop covering up for the 76s training staff for letting Embiid play through a malfunctioning eye nerve issue.

I understand him trying to be unbiased but Stephen A couldn’t sound more like 76ers fan than he did here. Knicks can’t control whistles. They kept playing and took that game while Philly got lost in the moment. Legler’s break down was spot on.

As a neutral Celtics fan, so I'm an enemy of both of y'all, 76ers did not get robbed. There's a baseline camera angle that shows that Maxey was out of control and fell while spinnng, Hart and Brunson didn't foul him and looked worse from the broadcast angle. Nurse pump faked a timeout initially and actually called it once Maxey lost possession. Now they could've called Brunson's hold on Maxey's jersey which kinda caused him to not get a hold of the ball initially, but they also could've called Maxey clearly pushing off Hart to get open, so that kind of offsets tbh as this is playoffs so more things are let go

SAS wants to say sixers were fouled at the end, yet lets ignore all the calls the Knicks didn't get, including the reversed challenged call that made no sense. Yeah another worse take by SAS, in the end sixers could have easily won this game with one smart move in multiple opportunities. Brunson had two bad games and no Randle, up 2-0. So everyone is just going to ignore the bad overturned of the foul on DDV before that allowed 76ers to have possession and score? Or the fact that, in the same clip talking about Maxey getting mauled, he blatantly pushed off hard on Josh Hart to clear room to get a clean inbound pass? Or even after the first miss from DDV's 3, they couldn't box out to secure the rebound and gave them a second chance?

I really have no idea what Steven A is trying to do here, he clearly hasn't watched any of the footage back, and there's no other commentator saying the game should have gone the other way. The closest the others are coming is saying that there could have been a call, basically what Legler is saying.

If Maxey got fouled the Josh Hart got fouled when Maxey pushed him right before the inbound. What Knicks fan doesn't acknowledge that foul and says the Sixers got robbed?

Stop it @ 00:47 You see Maxxey on the ground, no timeout requested....As Maxxey inexplicable rolls the ball out and Hart grabs it, Nurse turns and signals timeout, but by then it's a loose ball and the Knicks gain control. Nurse was a fraction of a second late.

Maxey pushes off Hart, Lowry throws the ball wide of Maxey -- who is the foul on? no one has the ball, Maxey doesn't have control, he grabs it and goes down and then tries to pass it or something...why? There was a push on both sides, but no clear possession, until Maxey tosses the ball to no-one, and the Hart tosses it to Dante.

All this Sixers Sympathy and Pity Party and woe is me narrative is sickening.

All the ref really bailed Kyle Lowery out. He missed 2 crucial FT in the last 2 min. And also why would you pass it to Maxey who is doubled when Embid was only being guarded by one player and he is a great FT shooter.

The most spectacular part of the sequence is Hartenstein’s pass to OG. In the middle of securing that rebound he threaded a needle between 2-3 players. So many times they try to tip that kinda rebound with one hand. IHart lifted off and got that one. It’s the rebounding that will break Philly if they can’t score enough to ward off these sorts of hustle plays.

I agreed with everything Legler said, actually thought particularly on the Nick Nurse stuff he was SPOT on. Nurse wanted it both ways. Thats why he held his hands up in the TO position but didn't connect em like you see every coach do when they call TO hoping they got it in. Then put em down when Lowry threw it in THEN tried to call TO again when the ball was already loose. Terrible move & he payed for it. The one thing I dont agree with was that only NOW does Embiid finally have that #2 star next to him in the lineup for this to be happening now. This is absolutely not the first yr Philly & Embiid had an all star along side him to dominate the east. He has and they have been a top 3 or 5 team in the east so I dont feel bad for him this yr or this injury.

It was a great game! Knicks up 8 in the 4th. And embiid and maxey get 2 touch and 1 calls. Embiid drew that offensive foul on Mcbride. Lowrey got a touch foul for 2 free throws. The refs did a great job of making it close, but let the players play in the final minute. Great grtitty game!
