Bout damn time. So many "football fans" that don't understand how great a player this man was. He was sadly overshadowed by so many other legends from that era, all because they didn't win a Super Bowl like guys like Jack Lambert. Congrats and long overdue Randy
I was asked by my coach in 1977 to speak at a Little League Awards Banquet. I was All Conference offensive lineman. Mr Randy Gradishar was the Key Note Speaker. What an amazing man he is. This was one of the high lights in my life. Congratulations, Mr Gradishar. So, so long overdue. 😊
I'm a Denver Native born and raised there, and I am so happy for Randy it is about time!!!!!!!!!!! Should have been in the Hall of Fame a long time ago!!!
Outstanding Recognition for One of the Greatest Linebackers/Defender/Team Leaders in the History of NFL Professional Football!!! It's taken way too long, but it's well-deserved...and having those special Team mates there to celebrate with him makes it so much emotionally deeper experience!!! Way to go Hall of Fame!!!
I remember Randy so well both in his college days and at Denver (some of those games survive on video) He made an excellent transition from college to the NFL which many don't. Fine career and deserving of the HOF.
After listening to him during this video, I knew that he was a great playerfrom watching him on TV when he was in college, as well as a Bronco. Randy is still so humble and thankful for his teammates. Most Broncos do not realize that if not for his knee injury in college, that he would have been long gone before drafting him with the 14th or 15th pick. If Randy had been completely healthy, he would have been gone at 4 or 5. Randy had a torn ligament in his knee that was fixed but some doctors said they were unsure. Ralston Called Woody hayes and asked him about the knee and was assured that it was fine and that RG would play for a decade or more and be his best player. I actually met him in Colorado Springs where he lives and works and he is the nicest man ever. I asked him about that and he told me when playing, that he was so competitive. Randy also said that many people confuse nice with weakness. Congrats to such a deserving man for the Hall of Fame.
Congrats, Randy. Atwater will always be my favorite defensive player - if they ever send him to induct a WR, they might refuse to answer the door out of fear.
How is TJ not in the HALL? Look at 1977 in the regular season, and the PITT PLAYOFF DIVISIONAL GAME that same season or, or what happened to Denver’s defense after an injury totally sidelined JAX right before halftime of SUPER BOWL XXI in his last game ever. With TJAX = 10-9 BRONCS.. WITHOUT JAX= 30-10 GIANTS. And, if they can put Hester in for kickoff/punt returning TDs in an era where blocking and releasing to head downfield on punts, or kickoffs which come/came from further upfield, is/was somewhat more restricted making it easier to return kicks for big gains/TDs,now/within the last fifteen seasons vs. the rules back in the ‘70’s&’80’s, then..HOW IN THE BLEEP IS RICK UPCHURCH not in the HALL for his returning of punts and kickoffs for longer gainers and/or TDs, in a much more difficult era to do just that breaking free, including dealing with flying wedges and defenders heading downfield as the long snap was occurring and also as the kick was hitting the foot of the punter? Or, how are FUMBLE RETURNER AND INTERCEPTOR FOR TDs=BILLY THOMPSON and SHUTDOWNER LOUIS WRIGHT out of the secondary..NOT IN THE HALL? If they played in NEW YORK OR PITT OR LA, THEY WOULD BE IN!
Bubba Baker had 131 sacks! and he's not in the Hall of Fame😡 he broke Michael Strahan's record when they didn't count SACKS. It's a shame he's not in the Hall of Fame. He was a sack machine they have guys in the Hall of Fame that don't belong there but Bubba Baker does.
Please do NOT make the new uniforms include white helmets. It looked horrible and too similar to the Bills. Update the pre- SB32 uniforms, powder blue and orange with the current logo and powder blue helmets.
