The winner for the 2015 show was Greg Zall for an exquisite container with marquetry wrapping the exterior. The piece exemplified the criteria the judges were seeking: focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail; sensitivity to material; and a modest and respectful interpretation of archetypes from the past.

The judges for the 2015 Krenov Foundation award were David Marks, Paul Reiber and Laura Mays. David Marks is a well-known woodworker and teacher, living in Santa Rosa, and host of the TV show Wood Works for many years. Paul Reiber is an Advisory Board Member of The Krenov Foundation, and graduate of the first year of the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program in 1982. He is a woodcarver, living and working in Caspar in Mendocino County. Laura Mays is the director of the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program and president of The Krenov Foundation.
