Sideshow Bob is stuck in prison writing death threats to Krusty, luckily Krusty can't read. He comes out of prison right as Krusty the Clown is having his comeback special. There's no better time for revenge.
This was a fairly simple video to make, i think the hardest part was covering bart in the plastic explosives scene. Before, changing the bloody note would've been difficult, but it's become fairly simple to do now.

Even in (especially in) the late 90s, Fox didn't want to run that bit. The producers had to meet with executives and explain that Krusty's Chinese mockery was SO awful, and SO clumsy, that no reasonable person would think it was a real insult directed at them. Nowadays such offensiveness wouldn't air, even if used satirically.

now that you mention it, i think that was the only episode where Krusty is illiterate. In other episodes he is shown reading scripts, letters, critic reviews or miscellaneous like debts and gentlemen magazines. Weird thing to bring up once and never mention again, i guess they favored his jewish roots instead.

@@D0NU75 Actually, twice. The clip in this episode from "Itchy, Scratchy, and Marge" seems to be trying to reinforce his illiteracy... but then again, that has been somewhat disproven. Although he did mistake the spelling of "Children" for "Cauldron", so maybe the problem is he's just really bad at reading most words. I doubt he reads those "gentlemen's magazines" for the articles like Homer.

Great flow, very natural, the comic timing of the editing is good as ever and the juxtapositions in this one were brilliant, creative, and hilarious. In a weird way, this is the best use of old media. I wish in the ending it was revealed that the real Sideshow Bob is sitting in a different country as its president and laughing knowing he got away. He also framed Bart for it all. I think there was a season 20+ where he is a president or a mayor of a different country.
