Jackson is such an inspiring artist, not only musically but also as a creative person. He is the one who comes up with the mv ideas. He said in his recent live that he recorded the idea of the mv in his apartment while being quarantined. But also huge credits to his directors, they are excellent!
its based on a chinese old tail. where a warrior woh died on the field in war gets revived by his generals, so he can dance with his wife who also has passed under a maple tree, where they ythen were burried together to be together forever instead.
Jackson has actually said before that even though he earns a lot, most of it doesn't go to him because he pours a big chunk of his profits into MVs, Team Wang staff, music production etc. So he really doesn't mind spending a lot on MVs as long as the end result is to his satisfaction
He DEFINITELY made a PERFECT investment in the Mirrors album, its MVs, and now this fucking masterpiece. I can't wait to see where Team Wang is in 6 months!!!!!
@@carriex0o and now seeing LMLY, I am still getting amazed more and more. He is amazing and is such a humble, hardworking person, I admire him so much. :)
So, here's what I think is going on: 4 loyalists meet at the grave of their fallen military general or leader, Jackson. They perform a ritual to resurrect him from the grave. They equip him with enchanted armor to give him strength to perform an even harder ritual. As they pass through the forest, their combined spiritual energies literally cuts down trees. They reach their final destination, & begin the final ritual. This ritual is harder, and requires sacrifice, so the 4 loyalists give their.lives for Jackson to complete the ritual, & the woman is resurrected. (I've heard some say that this is based on an ancient Chinese love story where the man never got to confess his feelings to the woman, so he brings her back just to ask her of she felt the same.) Jackson and his betrothed dance together, but only for a short time, as the ritual's power is fading. Finally, they embrace each other, and Jackson ends the ritual, and they descend into the afterlife, together...
Lol, well I appreciate the compliment, but it appears you've misgendered me, lol, unless 'sis' is just a slang thing? Haha, doesn't matter tho, glad u liked my theory
You can tell it was directed by Daniel Cloud Campos, who is a dancer himself. Man sure knows how to work his way around shooting a choreo, he’s so good.
Happy to finally see a comment about Daniel! Jackson worked with him many times and im happy they are still collaborating. Daniel is honestly a genius behind the camera. He has an amazing portoflio
Both 100 Ways and Bullet to the heart are directed by Daniel "Cloud" Campos the director of P!AtD's Emperor's New Clothes and This is Gospel. You can really notice his style through Jackson's MVs as well. And it's cool. The quality is off the roof, it's so engaging I've been rewatching it for since the day it was out... Jackson outdid himself once again too.
@@GymnasticChickz transitions and how the movements are filmed! Yes! It felt familiar to me too so I went to check who the director was and it made sense immediately :D
One of the few reactors who really knows what he's saying, who discuss every detail with knowledge and understanding, and is not trying to impress or gain subscribers by unnecessary commentary and overreacting to music videos. Please keep it up.
Jackson definitely has the X factor, personality and creative talent to be a true global star. We just need radios to get with it and start playing his songs. I really like that you noticed his expression when his girl came in to view, there’s a vulnerability there that used to be hard for him to express but he’s been going strength to strength in his acting.
Big shout up to Daniel Cloud Campos for directing the MV and Kinjaz for the super dope choreography. Jackson is amazing as usual and I live for his vocal
Coming here after your insta story about "100 ways" being one of your favourite MVs based on cinematography, needless to say, I totally agree! This is a phenomenally inspiring MV where less is more where used at their best potential.
The intricate details in the choreo and video direction I believe is because it's pretty much dancer driven. The Kinjaz worked on the choreo and coupled with Cloud directing who is also another great dancer.
I think the greatest creativity of this MV as you already said that we would never imagine a song with a modern vibe blended in so well with an ancient Chinese story setting! Shout out to Team Wang! Shout out to Jackson!
I love the fact that you loved this, I could totally relate to your enthusiasm. I am mesmerized by the wholesomeness of "100 ways". I almost cried when I realized he comes back to life so that he could find her resting place and rip together. That was heartbreaking.
I’m so proud to be a GOT7 fan. I seriously love the creativity like to have bullet to the heart, 100 ways, just right, love loop, lullaby, focus on me etc. Like the stories and directing that come out of them, I’m so proud to watch them and constantly be impressed.
I was waiting for you to react to this PD! Honestly Jackson is the one to watch. 🔥😌 Side note : he worked with the same Director Daniel "cloud" Campos who directed Bullet to the heart with this. Jackson believes that it's not about how famous the director or producer is, it's how well that person understands what he wants to do as an artist and how well they can create it.
his improvement over the years musically is really something. i think mirrors was my favorite album of 2019. for this video, in particular, loved it. great story and as u said he really made use of the lower budget than the typical kpop video.
An extremely artistic style choice from the director and team working with Jackson, and it definitely paid off. I was not expecting such simplicity and elegance combining to produce such powerful imagery that complements Jackson's stage performance so well. Great job analyzing it as well and 10/10 for the review.
I watched this video yesterday, and I don’t even know why since I don’t really follow Jackson or Got7 that much.. BUT! It was amazing. I must have listened to it a million times already
I actually stopped fooling got7 bd feel stupid for not ooking into Jackson, I still find got7 style not really my cup of tea, but Jackson’s music especially as he got more into producing are amazing
Min- Ju you should listen to more bside tracks! i don’t know what your style is but i really recommend the albums: spinning top, present: you & me, eyes on you and 7for7. 7for7 is kind off r&b, spinning top is chill hiphop, and the present album & eyes on you are more pop based. They’re title tracks are completely different from the title tracks. And the best way to fall in love with a group is listening to their bside tracks!

That sound kept playing in my head since I heard it. It's just one of those songs that get stuck in your head and you had to listen to it again at least once to get it out of your system. And the MV was so so creative and beautiful.
As soon as I saw the video, I knew I needed to see your reaction to it. Jackson is a global star for real and I can't wait to see his future unfold. #teamwang
Jackson just keeps getting better and better. I love all of his music but when I heard Bullet to the Heart I thought it was different and phenomenal. I'm so so glad he stuck with that style because now 100 Ways is competing for favorite song from him.
The MV really makes people enjoy it the song more, looking like a movie with extremely perfect visuals Appreciate how you appreciate Jackson as a person and an artist
Thank you so much for praising Jackson pd, this man really puts 100% of his effort to show different sides of him. And I do agree that Jackson has the capability to go global in fact he's slowly getting there, I can't help but be proud of his growth everytime he releases a new song. This man is unstoppable and he keeps getting better and better every damn time. This mv is insane with an amazing choreo and Jackson's voice match this so well. The team behind it really knows how to visualize and makes this a total masterpiece. Lastly, he's a total package, the world needs more of him.
I was waiting for your reaction yay! ❤ I loved this video and song! I agree with you and I feel like he is in a competition only with himself, because he gets better and better everytime he releases a song/video!!
Bullet to the Heart was my favorite Jackson mv, but now 100 Ways is my favorite. The meaning behind the mv (more like a movie) was such a great concept and it's deep. Most his mv's you can interpret it a few ways and it's so creative. Just SO proud of Jackson. It's like with every song and mv, he keeps improving and it gets better and better.
Jackson's continuing partnership w/ the Kinjaz is definitely helping to elevate his choreography to new height. From a dancer's perspective the choreography in the beginning section was so well done & helped the one-shot section a lot.
This is my first time seeing you react to something. I Have always seen you in my recommendations list for years but I never clicked because for some odd reason i wanted to wait for a perfect mv for me to see you react to and when Jackson came with this mv I knew this was the one. I am finally here young man; sorry it took me this long to click on you but I wanted my first time with you to be special and magical and I think this mv was perfect for bringing me to you, wouldn't you agree?
I watched it last night and when I was watching it, I kind of kept on getting goose bumps especially when the chorus would come in. I have to give a massive round of applause to the dancers because they were absolutely fantastic. The music video was beautifully shot and you felt like you were watching a movie.
As a wuxia/zanxia (tv and film) fan this MV feels so familiar - it carries so many visual elements from those genres, and the colour palette in the scenes with the girl surrounded by maple leaves are so redolent of Ang Lee and Yimou Zhang films. I love how the handwork not only serves the narrative (ie casting spells ) but as you pointed out, also becomes the cue for light and scenery changes. I think the MV is brilliant and adds so much to the meaning of the song.
Since Jackson watches reactions to his songs thank you for all the beautiful words and support. It's so important that he knows how much people appreciate his talents and hard work.
He inspires me so much... Like, he’s totally amazing in every aspect, he has a great golden heart, is so talented and has a lot of skills. He’s such an angel
Got7 and Jackson are always coming up newest and dopest things when it comes to music and music video. Like they are all creative as hell and they are showing to the world how to be original and dope. No matter what if u stan Got7 or Jackson, u have a good musicial taste mate
The director for this music video (Daniel Cloud Campos) also directed Bullet to the Heart and Panic! at the Disco's trilogy of music videos (Say Amen, This is Gospel, and Emperor's New Clothes) and through these you can totally see his style which I feel like you don't see often in this industry as you tend to have to be adaptable and I love him even more for it. Definitely one of my favorite directors.
To be honest, his song is totally incredible, and the MV is the most original thing I never seen. At first, I was really skeptical, because I used to not really like Jackson solo tracks, but now, I am totally in love, I will keep myself tuned. Bravo to Jackson and his director!!!
Jackson's creativity comes in really different and unexpected ways. He goes with music that is well constructed and aimed to be catchy, with nice lyrics and beats that might be simple but not simplistic at all. Also, MVs that become art without being pretentious and that are relatable to mass media without following trends
The very first time I saw this video, I knew I wanted to see your reaction to it. The camera work is beautiful, the concept is so simplistic but it’s SO beautiful. Jackson posted that they had to throw this together quickly and I honestly would not believe it because it’s so incredible.
Form of Therapy his exact words on Instagram were “we had limited time and it was very challenging but we managed to pull it off” so taking that into consideration, it’s even more incredible
Thanks for your reaction. I totally agree with you about him being the Asian artist to be huge in the Western world and as you said that is one of his goals.
my theory for this video is that jackson and the woman are both dead but ended up two different places. jackson rose form the grave and those hand movements the samurai/soldiers were doing at the beginning allows them to ressurect him. jackson then finds the woman he loves and raises her then travels with her to where she ended up after death. also, the fact that jacksons grave was in a place dark, sandy, sooty place and hers was somewhere extravagant shows how they could've ended up in totally different places.
I 100% agree with u. Of all reaction videos I watched regarding 100 ways, I like your reaction the most. Your discussion on your point of view abt the MV is relevant, straight to the point, and succinct. I skipped a lot of the talking session in other reaction videos but yours is so pleasing to listen to and watch.. 👍
This music video and song is so satisfying, I have watched this for more than 10 times in a day, the transition and camera work cooperate with the dance and song sooooooo well, this work is a masterpiece, so underrated 😭
I'm so glad you're covering this. I want honestly stunned when I watched the MV, its absolutely beautiful and artistic. I have chills every time I watch it and hear the song. It's beyond a work of art and it deserves hundreds of millions of views. This just leaves me speechless.
I loved the song and the mv, too! I’m not usually one who cares a lot about the mv, I usually and more into the music and dance, but this mv was so beautiful and I love the story behind it.
I felt the same with him when he sad it's actually a 3 minutes but it's that fast u feel like u want more , trust me I kept listening to it all day long without getting enough 😍💕❤️ oppa is the best 💪
Thanks U heard the suggestion to do this 100 Ways MV and always gave on point comments l really like it. His 1st solo album except 2, hit song --Dway and on the rocks hope those can be on your next or next list🙏💯👍🏻
This is like a disney real people animie singing cut. Also, there is a TV show in China all the singers or stars being invited to do a live mv during the show. Maybe you would be interested in that. The show is Phanta City hosted by Faye Wong.
I agree with everything you said about Jackson having the potential to really become the artist that breaks into the American music market. His solo works are not what you are made to expect when you think about artists that comes from K-pop, so I think he has everything to break through this "prejudice" that the western general audience usually has.
jackson has evolved so much, i would say after bullet to the heart he has continually come out with some of my favorite song like ever. and this is my fave yet. gosh i loved this. and the music videos are super simple yet also some of my favourite ever. abseloutly love the video director behind this, jesus.
I love how u break down every single detail of the music video and the song it really opens my eyes on things i did not notice when i Initially heard the song! Overall it helps me understand the song more I really appreciate your content super genius!😊
