Park Jimin is extraordinary by nature for sure but he outdid himself in his solo debut. The capability of his to express emotions by his whole body in via dance and signing is astonishing. Hats off.

The « having to go sane to stay sane » is actually a line in bts’s on. I guess that line resonated a lot with him back in 2020 since he’s bringing it back

I cried with this reaction. We love Jimin as who he is and it breaks our hearts when people mock him since the beginning. Now were proud of him as he sets himself free but please he still needs our support. We continuously defend him you know from the toxic world. We wanted him to be happy. When he knew his Set Me Free Pt2 went #30 Billboard Hot 100 he was very happy. I cried of happiness seing him how happy and thankful he was. He is such a humble King!

Autotune is used when the thoughts in his head are angry and caged. They’re like a separate character. And then his natural voice is used when he expresses his more reflective self and genuine feelings and him finally being free.

Jimin has a proven amazing vocal so he doesn't needs autotune, but in this song autotune is used like special effect to bring an added to dark tone, mastery to this master piece!~ It's brilliantly placed. 👍👍👍👍

Totally agree: cultural reset by JIMIN. A total immersive art experience. He had input into everything and oversaw everything. A true artist, and the whole thing is like a pure art piece. The music, the dancing, the choreo that says so much about the lyrical meaning, the cadence changes, the way autotune got used for effect to emphasise the meaning it was all incredibly pure art!!!!

Pdogg said Jimin would end kpop with this and booyyyy was he right! Loved your reaction! Mine was similar with a lot more unintelligible sounds. My favorite thing about this song is how cohesive it is. The triumphant beat, the warcry-esque choir, his sharp vocals, those cutting but fluid movements, the call and response thing in the 2nd verse with the autotune and vocal effects along with the mv set being a concept of a panopticon. And that ending! Breaking free from a watched system of control as well as freeing himself from his own self thats putting shackles on him and his emotions! It was cathartic, liberating, JUST AAAAGH Purging almost! And done in a way only he could. Its amazing. 100/10. And after listening to the album and this being the closer?! Park Jimin has ARRIVED!

my jaw dropped the second the intro ended and the music started playing, just watched the mv with my jaw on the floor i was so amazed and surprised. absolutely love this masterpiece

the way you went into depth about how you needed actual solo work from jimin in order for him to cement his spot as one of your favorite soloists at 30:43 resonated with me sooooooooo deeply. for me, he's been an artist that i've been anticipating since 2016 upon the release of BTS' album 'Wings' and his solo b-side 'Lie'. although there are songs he released between then and now (more solo b-sides plus Promise and Christmas Love, both of which are finally on paid streaming platforms) that were produced and/or composed by him, nothing can really compare to a solo debut where he's in his true element with full creative control. FACE was the BEST solo debut by a k-pop artist in my opinion and it also made me realize that i'll never be able to dedicate my love to any performer like i do to jimin. also! the autotune wasn't well received by some non-fans (99% being antis) because of how unexpected it was--like you said, we're all used to only hearing his higher register--and it was refreshing to hear an opinion from someone who actually loved and more importantly understood the sound he was going for. i really wish i found this video sooner in the midst of the hateful madness i was forced to witness 😭 your kind words and appreciation for jimin makes me so happy and prideful 🥹💛super excited to watch your Like Crazy reaction!!

I've been waiting for a reactor who just got how much this reflects Jimin himself as he has always been (if not always expressed), and not some brand new foreign side of him that no one thought he had before. Thank you wholeheartedly for your reaction!

I am also a person who doesn’t enjoy autotune. BTS (or the house producers) tends to use autotune A LOT, and as much as I love BTS, sometimes I do wish the songs weren’t so much autotuned. However, I know that the autotune was never done to cover up anything but a stylistic choice. With this song, I just understood it. I understood why autotune was used to paint this inner struggling distorted voice. We are literally watching a cinema, a movie of a protagonist going through all stages of emotions, and we can hear the inner conversations with himself (where the distorted autotune comes in), to the final triumphant “setting himself free”. Honestly, I was so affected by this performance that I couldn’t do anything but think about this song and performance for the whole week. I mean I was not emotionally even ready for the title song release. This WAS a cultural reset indeed. I’ve never experienced such feeling before, EVER. I love everything about this album, and I think Jimin is a bonafide artist and a star of his own right.

Jimin is my ultimate bias. He's the entire reason why I got into BTS and Kpop. Personally this isn't my type of song, however he does it so epicly, and I absolutely love how you love it. The album dropped 3 last March 24 , now the title track "LIKE CRAZY" MV has been out and has been in all charts all over the world. Dance practices for both songs are out now. Jimin was a guest of JImmy Fallon for a talk and performance. I will wait for the album review. TIP: you have to listen to the songs in chronological order. Antis have managed to spread the narrative that people didn’t like the song while almost everyone who listened to it loved it! They tried to use the auto tune to drag him but every professional spoke about how tastefully it was used! But yet antis opinions have somehow magnified due to people constantly talking about them or replying to them even though it was a small group while everyone else clearly enjoyed it! The song is absolutely killer!

Firstly, I need to thank you for the reaction! Kulture Study is definitely my fav review of kpop music. Hope you will react to the whole album or just the main track. I'd love to see it! So, I was a little frustrated when people were saying that Set Me Free Pt. 2 was "too autotune, not fitting for Jimin, a mess". And yeah, I'm not saying you should love every aspect of the song but hating on music is not the way. If you look at the whole album and the premise of it, actually everything makes sense. As it was said, the whole album is « inspired heavily by the emotional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Jimin as a person and performer, the album addresses "themes of loneliness, wrestling with oneself, and finding freedom". » That being said, heavily autotune song is definitely NOT what Jimin has done before. It portrays the war between himself, exhausting him as his voice doesn't sound human. Pandemic made us all feel nonhuman - stagnant lives inside four walls, interactions between people were minimized to almost zero, losing family members, friends due to terrible outcome of covid. All of it lead to anger and negative emotions. For me, this song is a manifestation of these emotions and was not meant to show his angelic airy voice and be "pretty".

The autotune voice and the other vocal effects voices are supposed to be the darker voices in his head. He's using the effects to make them sound inhumane. The dancers are also playing the different voices in his head hence the screaming scene with chaos in the start representing the madness you can feel in your mind sometimes. One of the dancers mentioned Jimin was heavily involved in instructing them what to do to play out the story. The location they're in represents a cage. I'm not sure if you noticed but during the ending you can hear Jimin's background vocals in a much more timid and soft voice pleading "would you please set me free". It's an incredible representation of all the different thoughts in your head in darker times. Jimin did an amazing job and both wrote and composed this song and came up with a lot of the ideas and the concept for the MV. I'm so proud of him

Jimin was always my favourite vocalist too. I like that Suga said to Taeyang, "Jungkook is a genius who is good at everything he does, but Jimin is a different kind of genius, who worked for it." I think Jimin developed a voice that no one else can imitate without sounding like a ripoff, and his heart just shines in it.
