The Kulture Study: TXT 'Chasing That Feeling' MV REACTION & REVIEW 

Hybe has been on a big Michael Jackson and pop-funk kick recently. With stuff like Standing Next To You by Jung Kook, Sweet Venom by ENHYPEN, and Chasing That Feeling/Back For More by TXT. I watched Back For More live during the VMAs and as soon as I saw their outfits I was like "Oh ok its Michael Jackson time".

This mv is mostly focused on the part of their lore where they transitioned from leaving their “neverland”/escapism where they could hide from all their problems (please check temptation album) to finally accepting growth and it’s pain ready to face their future. The transition phase where you are already in reality but still longs for that comfort from your untroubled old self.

my only problem with this song is that it's not getting the hype it deserves

Thank you PD for pointing out Taehyun, TXT is full of all-rounders and while everyone knows Taehyun is an amazing vocalist I feel like a lot of the time MOA's kinda just brush over it because they 're so used to it. As you said, he's been practically perfect in his skills for so long now and he's even expanded his skill set over their comebacks (e.g the raspy voice from 0X1=LOVESONG). Can't you see me and SRR were definitely his eras and I really think we gotta keep giving mans the appreciation and recognition he deserves for his calibre of talent! My prince of Pop Kang Taehyun!!

I agree with you that after lollapalooza something changes in K-pop groups or soloist. I really loved how J Hope confidence skyrocketed after he made history in his hobipalloza experience, specially in the Busan concert.

I've watched ctf mv like a hundred times and I never realized until you said it, that they start dacing again until they find "the feeling"

Thanks for your reaction&review of the mv!!! Enjoyed your analysis as always. The members have also said that this mv story continues from Sugar Rush Ride and the Peter Pan/Lost boys idea. That after they decided to escape/leave paradise aka "Neverland", they've crashed into reality which they have to face together. So it seems to represent the youth growing pains and having to now face their reality. Like in the beginning, they crash hard underground and face struggles separately to "chase feelings" and then when they have conquered it together, they grow from that and move forward. You're right that the plot seems more straight forward and I'd say its probably because of the direction and basic premise that the director received, having not worked with TXT prior. That's why the coloring and direction in this mv differs from their rest. It was shot in Universal Studios when they were in the U.S. and directed by an American director Christian Breslauer, who's worked with Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, etc. So its definitely more akin to a western style overall with this one (which i gotta admit Hybe has really been pushing for these days). Imo it is an interesting change. I'm glad you enjoyed this as much as I did! And yess to TXT in their popstar era haha. They all really shone in this comeback, their vocals keep impressing us, and their performances never disapooint. Looking forward to what else they'll offer later! P.S. @15:32 is soobin's falsetto (but they showed yeonjun), then yeonjun follows after!! Soobin is usually in charge of those falsetto notes in songs, like in their B-side Dreamer. Hope you can check out the rest of the album, its so so good and the members agree its their fave!!

PERSONAL OPINION but I feel like the feelings they were chasing were symbolically the goals each of them had separately and then feelings coming together at the end was them finally finding a point where they share a mutual goal. The reason I say this is in one of their interviews they talked about having different goals and how they didn't line up in a way that made sense and some of them were only going with whatever the others wanted. They had to sit down and actually talk about what they wanted and expected as a group. This pushed them to actually try to set goals that would work for everyone and have something they could strive for together.

The actual editor was actually the bearded guy seeing the comet who appeared at the very beginning of the mv.

I personally loved this song, and I love the album. It's the closest TXT has ever come to a no-skip full album for me, and it's damn close. Thank you for a fun reaction. I hope you enjoy(ed) the album listen.

Probably one of my favorite comeback in a while, it's a very pleasing song to listen to (was not a fan of gbgb). My only nit-picks are that there is so much English and unless you watch the MV to see that there's a dance break, i was expecting as bridge. It sounds short and repetitive 😭 but still a melody i crave

as a solomon i think taehyun has all the qualities to be grand, in voice, dance, espression, personality and maybe even rap. but the thing is that bighit doesn't give him the opportunity to shine. i love all of them so much, but sometimes the fact that only the choi line has that "bigger" parts in term of screen time in music videos makes me sad and frustrated. the maknaes are incredible, but i think olny moas know this.

It kinda sounds like as it was by Harry Styles after the chorus i think.

As much as I love the song, I hate the music video though. It captures nothing TXT (plus it's boring). Edit: It's actually sad to see people focusing on how high the "budget" is because it proves again that there is nothing else to praise about this video aesthetically. It's a shame to use so much budget and hire such a famous director but then receive this. Such a boring storyline because I am not a fan of Kpop Superheros (at least not something superficial as shown here) with absolutely no good portrayal of the atmosphere/personal charm. I will replay and recommend to others TXT's 01xLovesong music video (Japanese version) over and over again, but will never do the same to this music video. I am picky and disappointed about this music video not because I hate TXT, but because I love the boys so much and think they deserve better productions. To be clear, I’m not criticizing TXT, I am aiming at Bighit, the director, and producer of this MV.

Loved the reaction! Just wanted to point out that Stray Kids was actually the first k-pop group to headline Lollapalooza. All of the Lollapaloozas in different cities are the same event and there isn't a "main" one, and that's why they're counted as the first ones and not TXT.
