I love how The Lady Chablis was so generous in sharing her interview time with everyone and made sure the crowd got to say "Hello." She was always a class act. God bless her memory.
Looking through the comments here, I have to admit I'm a bit dismayed that no one has mentioned the fact that when Charlie Gibson tried to wrap the segment up, Chablis wasn't going to let Emma Kelly stand there without acknowledgement. That's a true kind soul.
Rest in peace Miss Chablis. You made the world a brighter an better place. Now you can fly with the angels. God Bless You. My condolences to your family and friends.
I was just in Savannah and found out that Lady Chablis had passed away a couple of years ago. It made me a little sad. I loved how she tried to get recognition for the "Lady of Ten Thousand Songs" in this video clip - and she even had a shout out for the dog! She was a scene-stealer in the movie.
Lady Chablis did make the whole film, I completely agree, I want to get someone to put up the scenes when she says from my middle to your middle when she's at the function with John Cusak and just some of her lines and the way she walks and talks, I think she's sexier than most women despite not being the prettiest of gals. I LOVE HER.
Personally, I think Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil should have been a mini-series instead of a movie. It was so well done I didn't want it to end. Makes me want to go to Savannah.
Just now finding out she is gone. Oh My she stole that movie!! The most memorable character in my view. Got to visit Savannah and tour the Mercer Williams home. Savannah is just a heavenly place, I highly recommend it!!
What a delight to know she was just as adorable, charming, and classy as the character written based on her. I love it so much♥!! R.I.P., Lady Chablis, I love you♥ :'( !!
GADS! I JUST WATCHED THE MOVIE TODAY JULY 17th.2021!! I then looked up midnight in the garden of good and evil, LADY CHABLIS. Just to fine that she had died!! With tears in my eyes, I type this!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! GERL FRIEND, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN THW HEARTS OF YOUR BELOVED FANS REST IN PEACE GURL, YOU'VE EARNED IT! SNAP, SNAP! WERK IT!!! AND, ALWAYS SNAP THAT FAN!!!
I was so happy to see Lady Chablis's show on one of my visits. After reading the book and seeing the movie, I had to visit that colorful city. Her show was wonderful, and she will be missed.
I so love this movie - and especially Lady Chablis, who I saw in person and will always remember her saying - and I quote - as she was asked by an audience member - "Will you sign my book" - she replied!! "Will I sign your book?? - for Fithy Dollars!!"
She really was an Iconic figure back then when the book first came and then the movie just increased Lady Chablis' fame even more. I remember the movie well....
I also read the book after seeing the movie and I was just bowled over how Clint Eastwood was faithful to the book despite changes made in the movie because of dramatic license, he include little references like Dr. Myra Bishop, Corinne, Chablis' boyfriend Jeff, Emma Thompson, Lavella, etc.The actors picked to be in the movie fit their parts to a T.
@SuppaFunkyMan I would have to say that he was my favorite character in "The Book". I have talked to people who knew him and they said he would have made himself the center of attention.
that when i first met her in 94 . she was at a club in columbia sc . on and off over the years i would see her again . once in her bedroom up all night talking this and that as i rub her body up and down n more . r.i. p chablis .
Charlie Gibson, the host at the time, looks like hes on pain killers. Morning show hosts are so crappy and act like they are so important to the world. I would love to have seen a whole hour on the town and the infamous 4 trials.
