I was so excited to talk to you about this guitar I wrote a little blog today... rguitars.co.uk...
You can also see it in our catalog here... rguitars.co.uk...
Look... For this kind of money you could bag yourself some amazing acoustic guitars from Auden, Furch, Dowina, Faith - some wonderful personal recommendations. However - the LAG Hyvibe isn't in that market. The Hyvibe is in the market of FUN, PLEASURE, SMILES, CREATIVITY, and a pile more SMILES!!!
Owning a hyibe I can imagine is more like having your own guitar companion. It will play songs to you when you are lonely - it will play along with you when you dont have any friends around - It will help your acoustic tone along with some additional funky effects - It will even wake you up in the morning playing your favorite songs!
No mains power - no amplifier needed - nothing - just you and your new friend - Hyvibe!!
For anyone who scoffs at this guitar I say loosen up and start embracing and maybe even enjoying some of the technological advancements that enable us to enjoy acoustic music in very new ways.
For me - I love it.
Also bare in mind that LAG guitars produce really stylish, cool guitars in their own right which I really love and am so glad to be working with regardless of the Hyvibe - but if you have the money to splash out on a new interactive acoustic friend I would say do it - you wont regret it.
(Check out the LAG T170A at just £289 - GORGEOUS)

What do I think? I am 65 years old, have played acoustic guitar for 55 years, and performed for 45 years… I love the idea of the HyVibe! Truly inspiring! I know it will increase my practice time by at least 100%, inspire me to do more finger style, (getting lazy in my advancing years), write some songs, and, plugged in, will make my live solo shows more fun for both me and the audience. I have ordered an Emerald, who now offers HyVibe as a factory installed option. Why should electric guitarists have all the fun?

I tried so hard to get that tech into Dowina Guitars! Still, French company, French guitars, it makes sense :) Most people have no idea just how fantastic HyVibe are. They have been working to get this right for a long time and in conjunction with LAG I think they have now absolutely nailed it. Great to see it now in production guitars. 👍

Great concept and fair play to Lag for making it. It appears to be a fairly simple and friendly to use system. I know a lot of people will see it as a gimmick, is it a bit like having burger relish on a roast dinner: A great product, but not in this context? I'm guessing that the output jack would allow you to use the effects/looper through an amp on stage and if it updates and evolves, this could be revolutionary.

Love the idea and would really enjoy playing one of these. Problem as I see it is the price! Tech gets cheaper over time and I can imagine at 900+ British quids you would burn your money pretty quickly if you wanted to sell your used guitar. Better getting the 299 guitar and an acoustic modelling amp IMO. Yep you loos the portable convenience but sometimes simple is all you really need. I would still own one at the right price point though.. 👍🇦🇺🐨

This reminds me of the Tonewood amp - which attaches to the back of your guitar (using the guitar body like a speaker), to add volume and various effects... And it's lots of fun, by all accounts. From what I can tell though, the HyVibe system is MUCH better... and far more convenient, being built into the guitar itself!
@andrewclifton429
@andrewclifton429 5 лет назад
@Follow the howl Horses for courses - I'm looking to buy a new guitar anyway, plus a small practice/travel amp. The Tonewood costs about £250 - whereas with the Lag HyVibe, it looks like I can just forget a separate amp altogether; and the price is within my overall budget. I want to try before I buy though!
@andrewclifton429
@andrewclifton429 5 лет назад
@Follow the howl Well, I'll be comparing it with a couple of other good guitars in the £800-£1000 price range. If it sucks compared to them (with the preamp off), then I'll choose something else - but if it sounds the best, I'll buy it.

I like the concept and it’s a cool, convenient bit of kit but to be fair, it’s nothing you couldn’t already do with an electro acoustic, amp and a few pedals or amp with built in effects. For me (predominantly an electric guitar player) I want an acoustic to be natural and raw but still sound amazing. Simply, a stunning sounding acoustic guitar! That’s it! Although, an decent electro, with a looper and or effects pedals still opens the same options above does it not? Furch and Dowina on my shopping list by the way! Whats the current lead time on Furch Blue and a similar priced Dowina please?
@RichardsGuitarshop
@RichardsGuitarshop 5 лет назад
Hi Robert. But thats the whole point! If you have an electro acoustic - all the electronics - all the gear - an amp - and happy to buy new pedals as and when - and you have no benefit whatsoever of being able to be mobile (when you would have to carry all this stuff around with you, cables, find plug sockets etc) then you dont need it. If however you LOVE the idea of being truly mobile, have literally no requirement for cables, amplification, pedals and want to knock out ideas, develop new riffs etc wherever and whenever you want - then you cannot do it without Hyvibe. Also as the APP develops you get all the new gear and tech free of charge in the app. Taking your analogy a little further..... A cooker is no different than getting two sticks rubbing them together, creating a fire and roasting a dead pig that you caught earlier, gutted and prepared for cooking. Why do all that if you don't need to? Maybe not a geat analogy!!! HAHA!!! But I know what I mean!!!!
@robgreen1458
@robgreen1458 5 лет назад
Hi Richard, Hahaha! I do get the concept and it’s a funky bit of kit but for me, I’d rather spend 1k on a Furch or Dowina. I’ve wanted one ever since I discovered them via your channel. If adapted to electro, I could have a similar option, albeit, not as convenient or easily transportable, but it would still be an option. Don’t get me wrong, if I had endless pots of cash, I’d consider buying one but in terms of my priorities, I would love to add a Furch and or a Dorwina to my collection. Anyway, I’m off to find a pig now and start a bonfire! 😂🐷🔥🤟🏻 I can hook my pig up to a trailer. Get it to pull my amp, pedals, generator etc and play a few songs before I eat him! Now that’s convenient!! 🤪

@RichardsGuitarshop
@RichardsGuitarshop 5 лет назад
Far from being a toy (but yets is FUN) and way more powerful than the Transacoustic. I think this is for the player who either has his acoustic and is looking for a source of inspiration or someone who sees the creative side of this product more valuable than the tonal properties of my other personal recommendations in the normal acoustic world at this price. Just as a parlor guitar will suit one player and jumbo will suit another - a Hyvibe will suit someone who values tools that help them develop musically within the instrument itself

Cool effects + looper (more than my otherwise brilliant and much-loved Yamaha FG-TA TransAcoustic with only reverb and chorus). But why didn‘t they manage to make it possible to play with effects when the looper is running?!? Who wants to have all those high-tech effects at their disposal but then not be able to use them when playing back a simple loop? If they update the firmware or otherwise make the looper an independent effect, I might be interested.
