The Newlands Watershed is considered by many to be the hardest walk in the Lake District. For these 2 videos I split it down the middle completing 5 Wainwrights in each walk.
In this second walk I start at Newlands Church and head up the road to Robinson. Having made the large climb via Blea Crags to the peak I then head down to Moss Force waterfall and take in its splendor whilst having lunch. Heading across the Newlands Pass at Newlands Hause the ascent up Knott Rigg begins. Once reached, it is an easy, if windy, stroll over to Ard Crags.
Although it would be tempting to head along the fell to the village, the Newlands Watershed takes me steeply down into the valley and back up just as strenuously to join the main path up to the junction with Sail and Outerside (part of the Coledale Horseshoe). At the junction I head up to Scar Crags then following along to our final peak, Causey Pike. The winds build throughout the day bringing the walk to a dramatic finish!
