This dinner was at The Lakely inside The Oxbow Hotel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Ever heard of mushroom laab? Or nab vam tapioca pearls colored with strawberries and carrots? You've never seen Hmong food like this! Chef Tony Moua prepared a 6 course meal featuring Hmong food but with a midwestern twist. My favorite traditional dish was the sweet pork. The fawm kauv with the peanut/red pepper sauce was one of my favorite dishes with a twist. The experience was so cool and the food was sooo damn good. I was gonna ask if they got extra sweet pork in the back.
