Hurley has the ultimate job security at UConn. With the Lakers, he easily could have been let go after a couple of seasons, so I think he made the right choice.
@@dipper5835he can still get fired and lose the job and that's bound to happen playing on a LeBron led LA team. Why leave a system where u are already valued and have a long term future and especially in college where it's more about the program rather than individual players
Can’t wait for Tuckers “I knew the Celtics would win” video to drop just like ESPN and every other sports outlet that for whatever reason think the C’s were gonna get a beat down cause they “had the easiest finals appearance ever and played against teams who couldn’t stay healthy”
What serious coach wants to be under LeGM? A job where you get no credit when things go well and %100 of the blame when they don't. The Lakers should just get to hiring Reddick, this is LeGM's choice and so it's going to happen.
You act like this isn’t how 90% of his teammates feel…. Bro in few years we will be reevaluate bros career Fs. A whole lotta narratives and excuses and favoritism….
I love watching your videos in general but when I’m having a bad day it really helps and makes me feel better. I love just sitting here and listen to you talk ball man thank you for what you do
Not surprised considering when you join the Lakers as a head coach, LeBrons the coach, not you, and, if players start to play bad you’re immediately seen as the problem. There’s no growing room in LA.
i mean some of that is true, but we could also use more logic and understanding he’s doing something legendary at UCONN, if he could break history there there’s no reason to leave.
6/70 is good for an NBA coach, but not enough to pass up on a potential 3 peat and the job security/legend status of being a college coach. Would have to been like $100M
Let’s. It change history holiday for dame is a good trade. Big time moves like that almost never work out the first season. Plus holiday was the true meaning of inconsistency when it was playoff time on the offensive ends next year we’ll be saying it was a good trade on both sides
Man, does this remind me of the end of the Kobe Era....hope it goes down that way (as a Lakers nonsupporter). Now it may be possible that the coach wanted to stay where he was for personal, professional, or selfish reasons( all justifiable), but people are going to see him not coming and think "LeBron fault, too demanding, didn't want to be LeBron's puppet" which even if not true, people may believe it anyway. Lakers, some advise, don't go down the Howard/Nash road, but if you do, I will enjoy it
Lebron is going to be the first all time great whos legacy gets worse and we start to realize how shitty it was after hes gone from the league. Lots of guys left finger prints on the league, wilt, kareems, west, dr j, bird, magic, mike, shaq, iverson, kobe, duncan, steph. Lebron left his hersey stripes. He shit his pants multiple times and just wiped it up with the league. He started the disastrous super team era. And hes managed to kill the aura of one of sports iconic franchises. The Lakers will never be the same.
5:34 People who say that Jrue would've been better straight up are plain lying or they didn't see Jimmy Butler drop a 40 piece on his head.... Jrue works better as a fourth option in Boston... In Milwaukee he was the third and in the series that Jimmy Butler toasted he was the second option.. He couldn't handle that level of work load!!!
No matter what, Jrue is still better (and more reliable healthwise) than Middleton. The Bucks were crazy to think they could send him to Portland and he wouldn't get flipped, and end up haunting them. That's not even considering the intangibles that Jrue brought to the Boston locker-room as a leader.
Homie, i said it on another channel. Length has something to do with it but if you really break it down. They have Kristaps an elite rim protector when hes on the floor. They jave the single best on ball defensive pg in the league and another top 5 defensive pg. They also got elite perimeter defenders in jb and jt if they happen to get switched onto him. Ao basically kyrie cant dance and get to the rim as they jave kristaps there he cant exploit a mismatch or switch as brown and tatum are solid and his primary defenders are 2 of the top 5 on ball defenders in the league lol. Kyrie was always gonna have a hard time this series. He relies on iso to get into the flow and get going and he was never gonna be effective all series playing iso against thia team.
He made absolutely the best choice, Lebron would have ruined his career and leave him with a trash team that needs to be rebuilt, he will not retire as a laker. The lakers failures will be new coach's fault to shift the blame away from Lebron. Hurley didn't chase money, he's smart.
The Lakers had to put up a front like they actually tried to get someone legit before hiring Reddick. They just wanted to make it seem like LeGM isn't calling the shots.
Bwahaha! Hurley knew there was zero chance he could be a success with the organization still orbiting around whatever Lebron wants kind to gameplan. I’m sure all the lakers fangirls will have excuses for days and say we wanted jj anyways but the truth is obvious. Can’t wait to see how that dumpster fire keeps burning strong next season and beyond. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Despite how much opposing fans, the media, and people who just flat out don't like the Lakers try to spin it. It came down to his family not wanting to leave the east coast and it was simple as that. His wife didn't want to move and his dad who he's close with and who tries to go to his games also didn't want to leave. At the end of the day yeah your wife and family don't want to move across the country you make the decision he make and go on. Don't blame him. I think JJ has been the best candidate thus far for Lakers I do believe he will be a great coach and from his insanely high basketball IQ, to his strong work ethic and having the respect of Lebron and other players that will bode well. He's also young and he understands what it takes. Coaching the Lakers is not for everyone there the most popular team in the NBA one of the most popular teams in all sports , and a prestigious franchise with a rich history. Anyone who coaches or puts on the uniform has to realize that and all the noise, criticism from the media, fans, etc that comes from it. It's not easy and that's okay because teams that want to win and expect to always compete shouldn't be easy it's a challenge and only certain people are cut out for It. JJ should be that guy.
hes been better than tatum for basically the entirety of those 6 games pretty much sums up the average coherance of a jb over jt argument im hearing nowadays
Yeah but the heat had the refs behind them, I don't see the Mavs getting fts without someone like DWade driving to the basket at will and winning in strength against everyone.
Now watch LeBron get his way with hiring Reddick. Now to be clear, JJ could absolutely be a good coach at the NBA level. But its more so the principal that its what LBJ wants more than his credentials as a potential coach that sours me a bit.
Taking a contract for the Lakers is a risky position because of LePrincess being there...He doesn't like to just be the #1 option...but believes the real Lakers ( being Jennie, front office, and coach) can't run a franchise... LePrincess is a VIRUS to a franchise .
Boston played terribly last night and still got the win. If Dallas couldn't take that game then the series is done. They might get one in Dallas but this series is not going past 5 games. (I hate Boston, btw)
LOL!, "there's a trade off defensively". that so called trade off u off handly said. is a top 5 all time Pg defender in NBA history. and Dam is the worst PG defender in the NBA. I cant believe people are still trying to say that was a decent trade. I said it when it happened that this is a bad trade and Jrue is better for this team than Lillard by a wide margin. Hes the point of attack defender that stops penetration at a top 5 off all time clip. Losing him is gonna change their identity. The way people are still making light of the mount everest difference between Lillard and Jrue on defense is mind boggling to me. There's 2 sides to the ball
Well, I mean, it makes sense for Hurley. Great environment at UConn. Plus if he was at the Lakers, he would be fired after 2 years after falling short of Hollywood expectations.
This is all smoke and mirrors. The plan was JJ all along, while drafting Bronny #17. Lebron has single handedly destroyed this franchise, i hope Lakers fans are happy.
The lakers franchise has been horribly run long before Lebron arrived🤦♂️ They won the championship with lebron, which they where no where even near for basically a decade straight before he signed.
