The land of Nod arouses fascination for many people as it is a biblical land. Many wonder if Nod was indeed a character. What was Cain's destiny when he was banished to this land? Who was his wife?

The Urantia Book explains these things, too. Paper 66 has some details about Nod. Paper 74 to 78 explain more about Adam and Even and after them. Published in 1955, it claims to be the Fifth Epochal Revelation of God to Man. Of course, believing that requires a leap of faith. Free to read online, and RU-vid should still have the audio version. It is clear that Cain had a generation before Seth was born, the third son of Eve and Adam. It really means there are other people besides them.

I've heard this before. When Cain went into the land of Nod the Bible doesn't say whether Nod was a person or a place. Your video makes sense that it was a place. When God placed the mark on Cain so no one would kill him and he went into the land of Nod, there must have been other people living there. If there were no other people created before Adam and Eve, then who ever was living in the land of Nod had to have been descendants of Adam and Eve. All these things happened after Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve lived long and had many offspring, who also lived long and had many offspring. Some of who left and became wanderers and went into the land of Nod. That for me seems to be the only thing that makes sense if there were no other people created other than Adam and Eve. When I read the Bible I know land outside of Eden Garden which is called nod. I tried what God meant land of nod. God kicked Adam and Eve out of Eden Garden to the land of nod and God said you will work hard to bear for food. That's where Adam and Eve begin to have children in the land of nod. Their children never enter the Eden Garden but work as a farmer like Cain used his good work to offer God as sacrifice. God accepted Abel's offer as an honor sacrifice of sin. Cain's offer was something proud of his good works which means he had the attitude demands God's bless him more than Abel because of his good work in the garden. God accepted Abel as a righteous offer. Abel knew he is in sin he needs God's forgive. Like today we need our attitude to offer worship to God by confessing our sins. We don't worship God with our attitude and demand God to bless our nation like war for territory in the land of nod is like nationals of distraction or disaster. The Bible never mentions Adam and Eve's daughters name. I also wanted to know their names like other people, some people got from other books like from jubilee. I always wanted to know how America got its name from north to south. And how Asia got its name from England to Japan but inside many nationals in its territory is like the land of nod( nationals of disaster.) Like Russia/Ukraine war for territory between eastern and western, Israel war for territory between Palestine and Israel. The world war tore the ancients record of lineage apart. That's what I read in the Bible and some people got land of nod means from other books.
Well said. That verified my thoughts exactly. So far I have found that Cains lineage is part if not all of the radical Muslems for lack of a better term. Hanging out in the Gaza strip these days if what I'm learning is correct.
I think you maybe thinking of Canaan. However most of the Canaanites who inhabited the land of Canaan in the time of Moses were killed by the Israelites according to God's commands. The native Palestinians today are a mixture of different herritages who moved into the land later.
Nod was the land of wandering which meant out of Eden away from God. When the Bible says he went East that means away from God. There were other people on Earth, however Adam and Eve were a special project probably for creating the line of David.
Interesting story. I've also read that Eve had twins and triplets. Cain was born with two girls and Able was born with a female twin. It was decided that Able would marry one of Cain's sisters and Cain was supposed to marry Able's sister. This caused a lot of friction between the brothers because Cain wanted to marry his sister, not Ables. When God chose Able's sacrifice and not Cain's he was already feeling like second place. Killing Able, Cain left with his own sister and created the city of Nod. I would very much like to hear Enoch's story, all 3 books.

@@roberttwyman432 I'd advise you to check the scholarship of "The God Culture". The names attached to the rivers in the Eden story were later changes. If you look at the topographical details and timing of migrations, you'll find that the traditional biblical interpretation is full of holes

Where is Your logic? Genesis 3 20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the MOTHER OF ALL LIVING. The births of females are often left out in scriptures. Eve's first 3 boys are accentuated, butt none of her daughters nor other sons. She most likely has given birth to hundreds of children in her 900+ years.
I like the meaning of the place called nod. But you can't infer that cain and his descendants were evil. It's after Seth's son enosh was born men began to call on the name of the Lord. But the Hebrew for called means profane. The first apostacy? The sons of God in Genesis 6 is the same word used for angels. The Seth view of Genesis 6. Needs many assumptions that don't hold water. Cain gave his sons godly names inferring he had some form of repentance.
Concerning the offspring of Adam and Eve.... In my opinion, Adams age of 930 yrs old was calculated beginning at the time of his banishment from Eden. There is no mention of exactly how long they lived in the arden, but their order from God was to populate the Earth. Remember, Eve's curse after sin was to suffer pain during birth.Incest would not have produced abnormalities at ths time, because before sin became a factor, everything was perfect, no illness, no death. Just a thought.
Gen 5:5 "And ALL (emphasis mine) the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years..." Gen 1 makes it clear that Days and nights existed when Adam was in the garden. I'm not sure how these scriptues could allow for Adam's age to only be reckoned from his banishment from Eden?

I should have presented my comment as "Is it possible", rather than "In my opinion", I was raised in a Protestant family in southern US. I was always confused by the contention and disagreements between denominations concerning Creation, the age of our existence, etc. My objective presently is only to find clarity and truth concerning origin of our existence. Please understand, I am not denouncing the Bible or attacking any faith... but with all things considered, there is really only one truth and I have come to believe that it is not wholly represented in any one religious doctrine.I don't claim to be an educated expert in theology or ancient civilizations, or anything like that, but only a student seeking understanding, lol.

They all try to draw up summaries of their beliefs to distinguish themselves. Their creeds inevitably fall short of the Bible - either in emphasis or fact. I'm now strictly non- denominational. The blatant truth from a creationist perspective about the human origin and it's lineages (races) is that we know next to nothing say for a few "half-remembered" retellings of an obscure people that are well over 11000 years apart from our modern tongues. “The sons of God” spoken of in Genesis are human. Adam was created to be the leader and subdue the Earth. That is why the sons of God took the daughters of Adam and could mate with them. This is why the offspring were considered kings and men of great renown. They were descended from Adam, the first God appointed Monarch.
There is a lot of information written into this story of Cain that is missing due to the assumption that Adam and their son's were the only humans on earth after the sin/fall. For example: First God states that your brother's blood calls out to me from the ground. Meaning there's been a murder that demands Justice. Cain immediately recognizes this and calls out to God that the punishment is too great to bear and states that "everyone that finds me will kill me" for the murder of my brother. Who would kill him? Those of the land. Second, Cain's wife was of the Daughters of Man not the daughter of Adam. This grieved God that the sons of Adam would take the daughters of man and mix with them. This led to the flood to destroy man kind. Third, after his first son Enoch was born [that birth is mentioned as a Time Marker], Cain built a city for the Peoples of Nod. He didn't build a house, dwelling or fort. He built a city-imply that there was multitudes of people, commerce and order. Lastly, where did all these people come from? They are the men created on day six--the Subtitle Beast, One of these men was responsible for the conversation, corruption of the woman in the garden. The Most subtitle beast is not a dumb serpent or simple animal but a man that is intelligent, can speak and mix with the descendants of Adam. The man of day Six was part of the animal creation-made male and female to subdue the earth. Adam was made at the end of day Three and place in the garden. Adam is not the man mentioned in day Six.
Daughter's of man are humans... there would had to have been human women for the fallen angels to mate with, before Cain ever arrived. There weren't. Cain ended up marrying a sister that was later birthed. The Bible seems like things are being told right after one another, but lots of time goes between main events.

If GOD named the Garden Of Eden, then why couldn't he have also named the land of Nod, east of the Garden Of Eden?
