This is a thing that some puffs have been trying to implement already, you can actually get some smooth movement from using bair in combination with landing
top players play so much and study so hard they HAVE to have some secret tech. top level is too smart. thats why they’re practically untouchable for years
@@Frog276 It's true, by playing the game and grinding your movement will gradually get more and more optimized and this is a perfect example of it. A lot of players have this implemented without giving it a name
@@rayzas4885 Well before the game released, they got a lot of high level Japanese players to help with designing the AI. They couldn't participate in tournaments for the first year of the game's life because of it.
can u like maybe stop sayin gims always wins at the start it really feels like u violate my ears and it makes me feel uneasy and want to clean my ears out, thanks for reading
for anyone interested, there's also a sheet i made with Reflex's labbing that documents Wario's SH N-Air connection percents with the pivot landing considered, so you can see if it works or not on your favourite characters (or even if it reduces the true combo range at least). includes other stuff too, check it out here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eKmLYTEpw35c6dGG6y86XzFyePjwyfm5WXKNOisyB3w/edit?usp=sharing
I think I do this unintentionally sometimes upon landing and it hinders me as I want to perform an up tilt right afterwards (as Bowser Jr). And the times I'm expecting it to happen when landing facing away from the opponent (wanting to reverse the up tilt) it doesn't. Could be slightly different but at least I know I'm not going crazy.
It's a tech used in Chaine landing. This is more just common movement knowledge. I honestly prefer using attack cancel and stick flick bairs for farther approaching/retreating back airs.
For example, 3:56 would've hit in Melee. Honestly making it that long in this game would actually be balanced since you still turn around when not doing rising SHFF bairs and every character in this game is faster so it's easier to rush Jiggs down.
This combined with Puff's chaine Landing is making puff look better by the minute! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-quk0wbw5Szk.html (here's a Chaine Landing tutorial and explanation)
Out of these, the puff application seems to me to be the most useful and very easy to implement. Sadly I don't use puff. But my dear Rosalina should have new tech to lab in neutral now...
Nice video GimR!! This is really cool, and I can see it's implications are huge. Now that you've given Puff more tech, would you next please consider using your powers to figure out drill rest for us 🙏?
question, could you pivot out of landing with a multi hit? The context I’m thinking of is landing with puff dair (facing the opponent). Instead of going for grab like a lot of puffs do, could you instead do landing dair > pivot utilt > rest? I feel like I’ve seen a setup like that before, but I imagined you’d just need to be smoove with your pivot after landing.
Damn, I figured this out on my own after just playing the game a lot. I didnt even think of it as a technique, I was like it's simply optimal lol. Great to see this video now though, didnt conciously know u could like buffer the fast fall with holding down instead of up, definitly doing this for tomahawks now.
Id LOVE a series of techniques like this. Even if you were to go into detail like you do so well about anything rly but esp stuff like this that might be more well known in the pro community.
Can you use a stage with a little more contrast between the character and background in the future? The black on black was though with joker. Otherwise I'm loving the more frequent uploads!
I watch this video and the original video, but I don't understand what i'm supposed to do to make it work. Please help. Edit: Actually, never mind. This seems to work if you hold the direction with the C-Stick too.
do any of you guys do your ariels with the C stick??? Every time I see these informative videos on how to do technical stuff like this, I always see the use of buttons but never C stick. Have I been holding myself back? How would I do these pivots with the C stick :(
I see people like h-box and Leo use this tech and I never knew how to do it, when I tried it in training mode I always failed to get the pivot, so thanks for the video GimR now I understand how it works
Normally when I watch a GimR video I have no idea how to apply the tech to my play style even with close to 2k hours in the game. But THIS I might just be able to pull off once or twice on purpose.
Question: Is it possible/well known that you can do a jumping turnaround? I was labbing Fair-1 follow-ups with joker and I was able to do Fair-1 into back air. Essentially, right after Fair landed, I would flick the stick away from the opponent and and instantly L-jump and back air with the C-Stick. Combo counter read as true, but I'm not sure how SDI might affect it. Any thoughts or ideas with this?
