No you’re lying, unfortunately I hope that is the case but… most Iranians prefer “Farsi”. They would even correct it to you if you said Persia, Parsa or whatever

You have explained it explicitly. One thing to be mentioned is: The middle persian īg was simplified to ī. So, ī is not Arabic but middle persian. However, thanks for this nice video

Actually the "ee" suffix is originally Persian and entered Arabic.

The ی in modern Persian which is found at the end of nouns is not the nisba ی in Arabic. It comes from “ig” in Middle Persian. Such as “Aleksandar i hrumig” which translates to aleksander the roman. In Modern Persian that would be اسکندرِ رومی (iskandar i rumi). Or “Pahlavig” which would be پهلوی in Modern Persian. Just like these examples, “Parsig” turns into پارسی since the “g” sound at the end of words disappeared during the evolution process from middle to new Persian. There are many other examples of this as well. Please do more research (from Middle Persian dictionaries and other Middle Persian sources) and update/repost this video.

This may seem accurate for people who do not know about Aryan migration to Central Asia and Modern day Iran. But the first proto Iranian language and Avesta were spoken in Afghanistan. Old Persian descent from Avesta. The language of the Zoroastrians. A tribe called Parsuas moved from north Afghanistan(Ariana Vaeja) to modern day Iran and took the language with and named it Persian but it was actually Avesta that they spoke. Also the Parsi spoken today is very different and today’s modern Farsi is a dialect that has been developed in Khorasan by the Ancestors of the Tajiks. And according to the shanameh of Ferdowsi there were many Iranian empires that raised from Central Asia such as the Kayanian empire prior to the Median and Achaemenid empire. Iran meaning ‘land of Aryans’ actually but the real land of Aryans was Ariana. Modern day Iranians have taken this as the name for their modern day country to show that Aryan history roots from them and not their Eastern neighbours such as Afghans and Tajiks. While today’s Iranian predominantly do not even have Aryan blood because their their land was inhabited by Elamites prior to the Aryan migration from Northern Afghanistan

@@varunathegreatasura Iran only began being known as Iran from the Sassanians in their religious reforms. Before this I believe the Persians knew Aryan/Iran as a mythical country to the north
@DrasscoOfRascia
@DrasscoOfRascia Год назад
@@varunathegreatasura I recently read an academic work by a Persian scholar on the Sassanian dynasty, where this is exactly espoused - what is today known as Iran only became known as Iran by the politico-religious reforms of the Sassanian dynasty, even though the term itself is of course ancient. And verily, I am not conscious of any Achaemenid or Parthian era inscriptions/documents where Persia/Media/Cermania and the rest are referred to as "Aryan", in spite of the fact the Achaemenids referred to themselves as Aryans. The Sassanians and reformationist priests like Kertir are also responsible for the compilation of the modern Avesta, which was until then an oral work with many local variants.
@DrasscoOfRascia
@DrasscoOfRascia Год назад
@@varunathegreatasura I said that. What I'm saying is that the country itself wasn't called "land of the Aryans"

This emphasis on divisiveness by claiming to be the original or creator of contemporary culture, language, etc. is so counterproductive. Add our obsession with viewing race/ethnicity through an American/Western lens and this attitude keeps us stagnate arguing over the past while other countries and cultures advance. Iran, Tajikistan, Tajiks in Afghanistan, and other Farsi speaking people of Afghanistan need to be united and come to terms with the fact that we all contributed to the Persian language and culture.

First of all I need to tell you that the Avestan language was a holy language and the closest language to Avestan is Vedic language and it was not only spoken in Afghanistan as you know the proto Indo_Iranics used to live in yamnaya and all of those people had their own language( different tribes had their own different languages like Persian had Persian language medes had medians Parthians had Parthian ,and... But the Avestan language was the holy language of all these tribes Avestan was a separate independent language and it didn't originate from any of them as I Said proto Indo Iranics used to live in yamnaya and Avestan language for a time was all of these people's official Court language Avestan was spreaded all from lands of Türkmenistan Iran Uzbekistan Afghanistan Kazakhstan Tajikistan kyrgizstan(remember in that time Turks used to live in Eastern Asia) the term that you used was not Ariana vaeja and Afghanistan itself was part of Airyanem Vaejah the correct term is Airyanem Vaejah Airyanem Vaejah in Avesta is considered to be the Homeland of early Iranic people and it comprised of the countries of Iran Türkmenistan Kazakistan Tajikistan kyrgizstan Afghanistan Iraq Caucasia and Turkey ( by saying Iraq and Turkey the Kurdish regions of Iraq and Turkey) and you talked about khorasan I need to tell you that Khosrow Anoushirvan united the regions of Iran and the regions that were captured by the Kushan Empire and created the shahrestan of Khorasan.and it was of shrestanha_i_ shahanshi sassanian tajiks are not the decedents of khorasan khorasan itself comprised of many different tribes tajiks are decedents of bactrians and ancestors of Tajiks used to speak bactrian and their language changed to Persian overtime when khosrow anoushirvan created the province khorasan as I said khosrow anoushirvan united the regions of Iran by taking back the regions that were captured by kushan empire in that time alot of Parthians moved to the regions that now a days we know as Afghanistan and Tajikistan and the native language of those people which was known as bactrian was forgotten and it was replaced by Parthian. Afghans and tajiks are not the real Aryans as you know they have lived in central Asia among other ethnicities and their blood is closer to other central Asian tribes the blood of the northern regions of Afghanistan and Tajikistan is more close to Uzbeks and Kyrgyz and... The Southern regions of Afghanistan is more close to other neighboring countries and Indian subcontinent. Ariana itself was one of the satrapies of Achaemenid empire.

It would have been more interesting if you added the word Iran which came from the Nazis for Aryan one
@Belakor.m
@Belakor.m 2 года назад
@Gabriel Da Cruz The word "Aryan" is much older than the Nazis misused it for their propaganda. Aryan in Indo-Iranian languages means “Noble” or “people who follow noble deeds”, people who follow chivalry, are honest etc., or people who follow the principles of “Good thoughts, good words and good deeds ". It does not refer to race, skin and eye color. Moreover, "Iran" has always been the name of the nation for millennia. "Eeran" "Eeranshar" and "Iran" have always been the name of the nation throughout history. Persia is the name given by the Greeks and Western culture, like Germany in English and Dutchland in German.

Are you crazy, Sassanids called their country Iranshahr in 1800 years ago. Avesta, Zoroaster's book called our country as Iran-Vij. Ferdowsi, in our epic book of kings, shahnameh, called our country Iran and called us Iranians in 1000 years ago. Nader shah afshar called himself as Nader of Great Iran on his coins in 18th centuary. Ghajar dynasty called their country as Iran in 19th centuary. even our first constitutional law in the end of 19th centuary it was called constitutional law of Iran.
