The Iowa-class battleship is a huge battleship that the U.S. Navy used to float in dry oceans during WorldWar2, and is known for its powerful firepower and defense.
Apart from the Japanese Battleship Yamato, this class of ships that would have been the largest battleship in history had four ships: Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
The Iowa-class Battleship had nine 16-inch cannons and was considered one of the most powerful battleships in the world at the time.
Despite their construction during WorldWar2, they participated in various battles and operations, ranging from the Korean War to the Battle of the Georgia Strait, through constant improvement.
But the Iowa Battleship eventually disappears into history in the 1990s due to its high maintenance costs and the emergence of the latest destroyers.
