If they, manufacturers on these massive ship building them from the canals they should not reqire the canal owners to increase the passage path larger due to now big problem.

Unless it breaks up ,Would an oil tanker sink slower if oil is lighter than water ? How much of the load is above the water line?

I hear they had problems with the toilets, sailors woud bag and dump, some of the workers kept their bags under their shared hot bunking. It was not pleasant for some, with the heat of the deisel and humid environment heating the rooms, and the poorly closed bags.
