I'm currently playing Ridgeside. It's fun, personally I think I like SVE better, I really loved the shadow people side quest, but then I haven't finished the spirit realm story, so, that how it is at this time. I read somewhere that Ridgeside and SVE are not compatible. I uninstalled all my mods when the 1.6 update came up, so I was clear to install Ridgeside.
Im playing Vanilla Stardew Valley but i want to try mods soon (When i finish the vanilla game) you recommend SVE (Stardew Valley Expanded right?) or Ridgeside?
@@tincho4868if it were me, I’d go with SVE (Stardew valley expanded) purely because it integrates so well into the base game to the point where you think it’s just vanilla. It’s so well made and adds lots of content. The new npc’s (while few in comparison to ridgeside) are fully fleshed out, unique and great additions to the vanilla cast.
Ridgeside Village, East Scarp, and Stardew Expanded all work together just fine, and you will find all the NPCs from all 3 mods at all events and throughout town. I've been playing with all three since 1.6 dropped. The Nexus Mods pages also mention all these mods working together just fine.
there is so much to ridgeside! i didn't even know about Faye's clothing store. I haven't gotten the chance to meet all the new npcs yet, but i do believe Flor is my soulmate 💘 this is such an amazing mod!
Ridgeside is hard to not have in my game, it does go well with East Scarp and Lunna Astray. Been through the spirit realm quest so far though. There is something lovely at the end of the quest line if you make it. I have married Alassia like 20+ times (Emily is the only other NPC that I have married that much lol). Though with East Scarp and Ridgeside there are lots of little kids in the game (one you need to unlock in East Scarp). So it does help make the town feel more alive.
Going through my playthrough I am still struggling to meet everyone! I’ve only completed one story quest so far (being thé minecarts so very early on!) and I’m so excited for more! I’m glad I made this video as I got to learn more about it too!! It’s such a good mod 🥹🥹
@@kitsugamess Ya it is, adds so much and is like 1/3rd the file size as expanded lol. So it works easier with other expansion mods just from performance.
Love this mod. Good job at giving away spoilers. I'm going to take it that this mod has finally been updated for 1.6. I've been having issues trying to get it to work since the update. My favorite part is the storylines and unexpected turns in character arcs. Though sometimes I wish characters will grow worse instead of better.
Such a good mod! Tried to keep it as spoiler free but only so much you can do 😅 it has been fully updated for 1.6 to go with the new events and new dialogue etc!
I like the mod mainly because of the NPCs... but I think it's too unbalanced to have since day one, it's a mod that breaks the balance of the base game...The story is good, but sometimes some characters talk too much, for example during the spirit real event, you lose part of the immersion and mystery... There's also the part about grandma where every time they compare her to grandpa and I find that annoying, reducing her achievements every time "like your grandpa" appears This is probably just me nitpicking? Probably
Ooooh i love this though! It can definitely take away from the base game - 100% for the obsessed who are on their millionth save 😂😂 Love hearing your thoughts on the mod! It’s definitely a huge overhaul that’s for sure!
YESSS! When I first started I would only like romance the same character and do the same stuff, and it’s so much more fun now super challenging myself to do other things like perfection on big mods and all that! There’s just so much extra content it is so fun 🥹🥹
Would you recommend playing this with or without Stardew Expanded? I've not used any expansion mods beyond expanded but Ridgeside also looks really fun. But I worry my game might give up if I install anymore mods and genuinely it's a lot of content to get through!
If you play on mobile, it's too much to handle for the device. Ridgeside is a really big expansion mod. Once i installed ridgeside, loading save was about 10 min, and game sometimes laggy.
For a first time experience I would 100% enjoy it on its own! SVE is my like go to expansion mod and I kinda just always have it in my game, but both is a huge overhaul for sure :’) feel free to sus out some of my mega expanded playthrough as I have 4 large expansion mods and I’m loving it but it is a lot to cover!!
@sohkaryong5605 just to confirm yes, he was originally a standalone character mod to add to Ridgeside but he was eventually added into the actual Ridgeside mod.
