My name is Kitsu, or Madi! I am an Aussie based Content Creator who does many thing!
Over here you will mainly see all things Stardew Valley, Modding related content, challenges and even playthroughs! I used to dabble a lot in Animal Crossing, so while I am not actively making that content anymore, you can still see it below and it even may make a comeback!!
I also stream over on Twitch 3 x a week! It is a lot of fun, and would love to see you there! Additionally, I make Stream Coaching/Advice content on my Second Channel over here on RU-vid!
Outside of the realms of streaming and content creation, I have one of the coolest jobs ever, of being a Store Manager within not only the retail space, but the Chocolate industry! I ADORE my job, but love creating content and have fun with it!
I know you make good content because I know for a fact i could never do a full joja run 😭 but every modding video you make I manage to see a mod I've never heard of or would never think to look for, thank you for helping the stardew modding community reach more people!😊
@@xiimooniixmoon2988 nooo!! There’s gotta be a reason, it works perfectly for me, it’s a non negotiable bc of some of the utter steals you can find 😍😍 hoping it works for you soon 🥹🥹
Hello can you tell me how I can use multiple furniture and wallpaper floors mod? Should I convert them to PNG or should I just name the files as furniture(1), (2) etc
@@Sierra-t5y thé portrait mod i use?? Also bestie - I don’t think I could make it any clearer in this series I’m chasing that man Sterling LOL First time I’ve had a comment like this regarding the portraits I use… but they do not look anything like toddlers, younger for sure as it’s a cuter style of art, but not literal babies 😂😂
@@kitsugamess they look like they’re five lol but in general, I already feel like a lot of the characters are too young so I already feel like a creep going after most of them ,the better looking ones anyway. *I’m not saying you’re creepy by any means!* I’m just saying the portraits threw me off. Lol….
@@Sierra-t5y that’s fine, but there’s no obligation to romance any of the characters at all in your playthroughs - Stardew can be played in so many ways to each individual character! I’m sorry that the mods aren’t your cup of tea, but your comment comes off that I have installed this mod to go down a ‘romance a child looking character’ when that is not the case at all. Portrait mods always kick up some fuss with people no matter what it is or what it does to the characters, I just chose this one as they had the same portrait style for all expansion mods 🥰
@@kitsugamess yea I might of not worded my comment correctly. I wasn’t implying you were a creep. Im fine with mods, I use them to. I obviously know you didn’t purposely download a mod to marry little kids lol. I was just saying it looks odd to me since I have an issue with trying to marry them anyways due to them being younger anyways. So I wasn’t implying that’s how you are. I was just saying that’s how I would feel if I had that mod… I shoulda clarified that in the first comment but I forget people online don’t know me so some things might seem differently on here… I’m not against mods at all, I was actually going to ask what ones you were using. I’d love to know. I also didn’t know it’s a common things for people to dislike portraits lol.
the one u are missing is Gio! he works/owns the pizzeria in Zuzu City, Hazel works with him! idk if u have met her yet :3 Gio's pizzeria is next to that Jojamini and Zuzu's apartments building
Wait until you learn that any mammal can be milked(to a varying degree of success). Other cultures drink camel, reindeer, horse, and yak milk. Even platypus make milk, but they have to sweat it out.
@@slowbrodragon6951 It’s more or less something I’d never really thought about. I guess in a more of people drink Sheep milk surprise rather than then producing it.
I play with my siblings. If I add the Lance come sooner (I host) would it "break" their games and we can't play multiplayer if they don't download it too?
Thank you for the lovely reviews! It's so sad Nexus recently compressed their images so the fountain previews are now so ugly and don't show off the art as well. But your lovely comments absolutely made up for it!
I happened to find one of your modding vids the other day and have LOVED all these modding vids and modded farms!! Definitely just found my new favorite stardew RU-vidr❤
If you don't already use a mod manager, Stardrop is a great one to use! It's available on nexus mods, and it allows you to create different profiles for different saves. So you could just select the mods you use for each farm/playthrough and save them, which would save you the time of moving the mod folders (or however else you do it). Makes it much easier to keep track of which mods are used for each playthrough! I'm loving this series, I just started it a few days ago and I'm all caught up! I can't even imagine how much editing it takes, so thank you! :)
@@aaronthompson2315 it is the HARDEST journey to get to 5 stars omg. It’s such a weird factor, it covered like amount of inclines/bridges, pathing, fences, trees/flowers, housing plots, furniture items outside like it’s crazy 😂😂
Can you please check out Chocolate valley mod? I found it last week and it's suuuuper fun and detailed, but a bit confusing. I think you will enjoy it!
I think the mod ToDew would be great in this QoL list(maybe some of the other ones I list below that I have installed as well). You mentioned you would be doing another video so you might mention them. And what I mention isn't supposed to be a QoL mod list. Just the mods that I use currently. I got into this game just over 2 weeks ago due to the summer sale. Been thinking of getting this game for years but I don't play cozy games. The games I have played don't fit that category AFAIK. The first thing I did was mod SDV. I only played 30-40 minutes of unmodded SDV. Yes, really. Lol. The mods I installed are, SMAPI(needed for most mods), Console Commands(I think this gets installed with SMAPI automatically), Content Patcher(Surprise! Needed for most mods), and Clear Glasses(a git hub/nexus mod that is essentially the updated version of Sprite Master which changes the game graphics from pixel graphics to a more smoothed look, I needed this to be able to enjoy the game as before it bothered my eyes to look at the game and hence this was the first kind of mod I looked for). Then within a day or two I installed Convenient Inventory(auto stack things from your inventory to chests nearby that have the same item, while being able to favorite items so they get ignored), Generic Mod Config(mod menu in the game for managing settings of mods installed), NPC Map Locations, Sound Tweaker(I haven't actually messed with it but it's ready), and UI 3 in 1 theme color. I do have other mods that I just installed but these previous ones are the main mods I have used for my playthrough. The other mods I am using now are UIInfoSuite2(info mod for a chunk of things in the game, I found it on github as the OG one isn't updated on Nexus), Skip Intro, ToDew(you can create in game reminders that overlay part of your screen, very useful), BetterShopMenu(brings categories to items, I haven't actually used it yet, I installed it yesterday), GMCMOptions(seems like an add-on for Generic Mod Config and is needed for BetterShopMenu IIRC), and lastly AutomateToolSwap(I just installed this, I think this will be useful). 15 mods total including dependency mods. I'm always looking for more mods that might enhance the experience of this game. Mods Listed Without Explanations; SMAPI, Console Commands, Content Patcher, Clear Glasses, Convenient Inventory, Generic Mod Config, NPC Map Locations, Sound Tweaker, UI 3 in 1 theme color, UIInfoSuite2, Skip Intro, ToDew, BetterShopMenu, GMCMOptions, and AutomateToolSwap. Yes, I barely played the vanilla version and these mods to some people I'm sure aren't QoL, different definitions and all that so if it's not QoL for you then it's not QoL for you. If you think one of these mods isn't QoL I'm curious what makes one QoL and another not QoL to you.
I totally understand, and also very much disagree with your definition and idea of what "quality of life" means in the context of game mods. While yes mods which make un-fun parts of the game very easy would improve the quality of someone's life (with the game), that's not what the term "quality of life" means in a colloquial gaming context. Quality of Life in context implies small changes to remove tedium from something without changing the spirit of the thing. So an example might be bigger stack sizes for items with small stack sizes, but only in a game where the overall inventory limits are not a large imposition on the game already. The problem is that in your last video you mentioned a lot of difficulty mods, while advertising quality of life mods. This is why you got push-back. No matter what your personal definition is, when you're interacting with other people; particularly in a context where you're setting expectations; its very important to use a broadly agreed upon definition rather than a personal one. For those who come to the video for QOL mods, and find difficulty mods, all you have done is make that person aware that you can't be relied upon as an information source for them. To be clear, its not that difficulty mods and accessibility mods are bad, far from it! I think its wonderful to have someone advocating for these mods even if I personally have little use for them. I just strongly believe that its important to meet people where they're at when communicating. When you fail to disclose properly what people are in for, it treads into the territory of click bait, even if the titles aren't sensationalized.
@@XeroShifter while I 100% love and respect this message (it’s nice to have a genuine conversation about this stuff truly) it is hard to fully define ‘Quality of Life’ in a broad aspect. I’m advocating for these mods because Stardew is a large and also frankly, can be a difficult game for some people, and these mods make an aspect of the game that might prove difficult just that bit easier. The reason it’s so hard, is because majority of my comments on my first one were of happy people, sharing their stories on how easier combat has helped them, or being able to auto fish and not struggle with that aspect that can be really annoying and difficult etc. Those comments were like these, longer and more descriptive, but the other ones were just simply ‘cheat mods here’ and that’s kinda it. I’m also a RU-vidr and Content Creator, I’m in an industry where to ‘grow’ and ‘get views’ clickbait is a thing, as well as push back from people. I try to steer as clear of clickbait, bc truly I just wanna showcase mods with those around me, but you can’t fully ignore it frankly. Nor can I ignore push back or rude comments, but I simply wanted to stand up for those who benefit from these mods.
@@kitsugamess I appreciate the response. There will always be low effort comments on youtube sadly, hopefully as time goes on your channel will garner more meaningful responses as a percentage of your community. I think its totally fair to push back a bit against unfair and unhelpful criticism. I'm gonna share some more detailed opinions in this response, but I want you to know that if any of it comes of as hostile, to please disregard that as a communication error on my part. I'm merely enjoying the conversation, and not trying to come at you in any way. In regards to click bait, I would disagree somewhat. Its important to have titles that grab attention for sure, but the general line for clickbait versus attention grabbing is if a video (example: "10 QOL Mods that will blow your mind!" ) has delivered on the promises made by the title, or not. If you used the example title, and then delivered only 2 QOL mods, or the mods were the most basic unintesting mods (SMAPI, StardewHack, GenericModConfigMenu) you'd fail to deliver on the promise of the title, and have made click-bait. I think there is room for a bit of exaggeration and sensationalizing before you tread into what I'd consider click-bait (you've used BEST in your titles for example, and I wouldn't call that Clickbait, despite being a bold, and impossible to quantify claim). My point here is actually more that you are doing ok for the most part with the titles, and that I hope you won't worry too much. I think the best thing you could have done is something like "The 10 Best QOL and Accessibility mods!" and you don't have to go so far as to say something as bland and useless as "Some Mods I kinda Like" to deliver on the promises of a title. I would agree that the exact boundaries of QOL for a given community can be pretty fuzzy. Even in my original comment I relied on somewhat vague ideas like "spirit of the thing," but I would say that the No-Watering mod from your original video is pretty clearly in the category of 'against the spirit', just as an example. It turns off an entire game mechanic that is pretty core to the earlier parts of the game, and negates the need to ever craft sprinklers; you yourself even acknowledged in the video that it was essentially cheating. Just like with exaggerated titles, there is some wiggle room, but fuzzy edges of an idea or term is not the same thing as something lacking any meaning at all. Justice Potter's 1964 "I'll know it when I see It," comes to mind as a famously fuzzy to define moment, that still has meaning. Once again, I'm very glad someone is advocating for these mods, and I appreciate the content you're making. I myself use a Speed mod (which IMO straddles the line between cheating and QOL,) and I'll never go back because walking around in SDV is just painfully slow for me, and I forget to bring stuff to places way too often (the back-tracking and short days makes the vanilla game near impossible given my memory issues) to be able to complete and enjoy the game without it. I've also picked up a few mods to try out from your recommendations. I hope you're having a great day, and that the haters experience the taste of hot-dog package juice :P
that beach flower pot fix feels tailored for me specifically because I tried to do exactly that (fairy rose honey) on the beach, when I got confused why it wasn't classified as part of the farm... I can plant fruit trees but not flower pots??
I’m shocked there are so little people in the chat replay right now, and that you ONLY have 5.62k subs. That seems like a lot, but you deserve so much more! You’re great at this and will love to see you grow
AAAH TY! This was my first ever YT stream, but I am live 3 times on Twitch!! I will for sure have to come back to multi streaming over here for this playthrough as well!
I am surprised you didn't mention the Automate mod. It basically makes every machine you build able to just automatically process materials from your chests. It saves a lot of time. Maybe in a couple of playthroughs I'll use some of the mods, but a lot of them are changing too much of the core gameplay mechanics, which is why "Quality of Life mods" is not really a fitting title to most of the shown mods.
@@Rocky712_ I’ve shown that mod in my second QOL Mod Video!! I 100% agree that it does change mechanics, but QOL is different for everyone, and so many people have benefited for the mods! Different needs for every single player 🥰
@@kitsugamess That's good to hear! Yeah, but if it changes the core mechanics, it's not a QoL mod anymore. It's just a fully normal mod and in case of the mods you have shown, it makes certain aspects just easier or non-existent (like the fishing mods, which can make it more enjoyable for people but that's the point of every mod out there, lol. I found some interesting mods in the video, but basically almost none of them were actually QoL (which I watched the Video in the first place).
