@@Luigi22Greenthey took best player available. Brock bowers is more than the traditional TE. You can put him in the slot, you can hand him the ball, he’s fast, he’e physical, average linebackers wont be able to keep up with him. He creates good yardage after the catch. They’ll be able to do a lot
Davante Adams Brock Bowers Michael Mayer Jakobi Meyers Zamir White Why we acting like the Raiders aren't lowkey loaded with weapons? Zamir White was extremely efficient in the last three games without Josh Jacobs.
Zamir ain’t Josh Jacob so it doesn’t matter, and all those weapons to have them get very little TDs with below average to average QB play. CB have no depth and the only good parts of the Raiders is DL, LBs, and OL.
@@people3701 I will never in my life listen to an anime pfp about anything…… But Josh Jacobs was completely mid last season. Rb is a revolving door but you never know. Brock Purdy brought SF to a Super Bowl with slightly above average play and a tonnnnn of weapons. OL might be the thing that holds us back more than anything
I have three main problems with this take. I think that Adams is still a very solid WR, however he has been severely limited by poor QB play, especially last season, and I don’t expect him to take a step up with the journeyman of Minshew. In terms of the rest of the skill positions, Mayer hasn’t proved much, neither has Zamir White. White feels like Alexander Mattison, the always hyped young guy who finally gets propelled into the starting role and flops. Especially with that OLine. However, I think the main issue will end up being the secondary here, as there is almost nothing going on there, and I don’t trust in Pierce’s ability to coach them into a non-liability. I hope that they prove me wrong, however I doubt it. (Also I’m not a chargers fan)
@@porgboi6327 don’t disagree with the Davante takes but still he’s Davante that’s a weapon regardless. Mayer played well last year he was efficient while healthy. Easily gonna be a top 5 #2 TE in all of football. Bowers is the real talent. Zamir White was literally thrown into a Christmas game against a great chiefs defense and went off. Check the tape before making random takes. The secondary is going to be a little wacky for sure but a lot of them haven’t been given proper chances. Definitely isn’t nearly as much of a liability as the previous five or so years so I’ll take it in comparison.
Minshew is basically the modern Fitzpatrick - That QB everyone likes as a person and at times feels like could be the guy for a team and will occasionally have a marque game but is a bit inconsistent and can never really string wins in consecutive seasons. He'll probably end up with a 12 year career somehow, started at some point for half the league and will have a career earnings way more than you'd have expected.
Look at the excellent roster around these QBs. AOC and Minshew had winning records last season. These channels need to stop overreacting to preseason games
When you’re Raiders friend, it’s not an overreaction. Our quarterback situation is terrible. Most people in our division have gotten better. We lost Jacob Adams is 32 a year older and yes, we had Bowers, but we still don’t have a quarterback, proven track record if you look at the depth at cornerback on our team, if Hobbs gets hurt we are in trouble. We have no depth and if you think that no one’s gonna get hurt in 17 game season, you’re absolutely delusional.
@@Donny908-e5c had Bowers? We just drafted him. Jack Jones is our #1 CB and Hobbs is the nickel. Also, Minshew has a proven track record as a reliable starter with AOC as depth. Look at Indianapolis last season as evidence. Why no mention of Trevon, Maxx, or Spillane?
@@ethanriegertThe AFC is brutal but I think the Raiders will be better than the Patriots, Titans, Broncos, Steelers, and Colts. Maybe Jets and Chargers depending on QB health. What do you think?
Ehh more like 350 million, it’s a US sport. Cut it in half cause women ain’t playing in the NFL. Then take away like another hundred million of young men and senior citizens
What the hell. Not sure who this guy is. Raiders got Adams, Meyers, Tucker who is break out, number 13 pick Brock Bowers and TE Mayers who is listed top 12. They have a nice offense team
The offense around them won’t be any better 🤣🤣🤣. Typical national media take who knows nothing about the team. The supporting cast : Brock bowers , Devante Adam’s, jakobi ; but no we don’t have any playmakers lol .
I’m a big-time Raiders Fan and I played 11 years of football. Raiders friends are going to cheer if we have 11 girls playing out there. Raiders stands are delusional. It’s the truth. The fact that we haven’t signed any names points to the fact that management is not trying to win this year, and if you know you’re not trying to win this year, why wouldn’t just trade Adam get wild I’m sure somebody would give three first round for Crosby at this point of his career
Raiders had a chance to grab fields and didn’t we’ve missed out on so many opportunities to give depth to our team. It’s all managements fault. They came in here thinking that they’re shit and you can clearly see the power struggle between the head coach and management because is a first year coachis limited to what he can do
@@Donny908-e5c you wanted Fields? Like the dude who can’t read a defense, who’s only real strength is being a strong runner, and refuses to develop? I guess you really want to tank for 2nd overall pick next year then.
@Donny908-e5c Rushing QB's are one trick ponies. Absolutely overrated and useless for real team development. Your QB must feel comfortable in the pocket and read defenses. If he can't do that, he's just a glorified RB.
I don’t get how people can be so low on Minshew. He played just as good if not better than hurts with a loaded eagles offense and almost took a subpar colts team to the playoffs
idk why people hate on us not getting a qb, nobody was there. Worse thing for us is if we go 8 wins. Then we out of rookie qb range but also not good enough for playoffs
Feel free to comeback to this comment when everybody got the power of hindsight. Gardner minshew is not a bad Qb AT ALL and he will do just as good if not slightly worst then dak last year. He’s gonna have a good o line, a persistent run game, a potential top 5 tight end and one of the most underrated wide receiver duos in football. He took a worst roster to win 10 games last year and I expect the raiders to suprise a TON OF PEOPLE. As a 49er fan, trust me in saying that I am not saying this to be a plant lol. The raiders will place 2nd in their division and will GUARANTEED MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!
you do realize that dak Prescott had the same stats if not slightly better than Patrick Mahomes last year. what are you talking about bro, gander minshew is not even in the same stratosphere as dak Prescott.
Haven’t watched a video of yours in years but I used to comment all the time with you back in 2018/2019 . I always appreciate you making videos on the raiders
I don’t think Gardner Minshew is bad at all and I think the Raiders win 8/9 games this year. Nobody will see it coming but they’ll beat some good teams
@@jakelong1205 none of those teams they beat under Pierce minus KC had a quarterback who’s a starter lol they’re all backups or third stringers. Getting fat off UFL QBs doesn’t make you a good team
@@PastelitoPapi what do you mean none of the games they won under pierce lol I am 47 sure I know more than you bye Felicia you play who is on the schedule make sure you bookmark your statement so you can look silly after the season.
Remember this team went 8-9.. with Jimmy G, Brian Hoyer, and josh mcdaniels half the year.. those three are gone.. the raiders added Wilkins and added an average QB in minshew.. so i don’t see why this team can’t be 9-8 or 10-7 this year
The key to this team is the defense... Pierce is a CEO rah rah type coach, but he's defensively minded. Plus you have one of the most underrated defensive coaches in Pat Graham. Oh and then there's all that talent on the D too. Raiders will play to control the narrative every game. Frustrate opposing offenses, get turnovers, burn clock on offense.
If they get average qb play, offense will be above average. Biggest concern on O to me is the O line. The run defense and lack of depth in secondary are also concerns. But the chargers and broncos are in worse shape. If they can put things together, the Raiders have a punchers chance to have a winning record.
Personally I think they take a flyer on one of Mac Jones/Trey Lance/Kenny Pickett the Raiders have the same problem as the Saints IMO where they're not good enough to contend but not bad enough to get a QB in the draft
Antonio has a chemistry going , lets wait until week three to start a critical evaluation. The raiders have stepped up their defense since last season.
Im no way defending minshew, but he beat out Anthony Richardson. The only reason Anthony even started was cuz the owner forced the coach to. And the Jacksonville roster was really bad when he had that horrible yr. Are we not actually looking into these things when we make youtube vids??
That defense is overrated dude, disillusional fans need to be paying attention to the team. The run defense has been terrible in the preseason game plus those first string cornerbacks have been getting beat by second string and third string dudes. Jack Jones is going to be a household name this season, That guy is 74 Madden rating for a reason 😂😂😂😂 pure 🗑️
This guy is all over the place. I don’t even think he knows what he’s talking about. Scratch that I know he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
If we are being honest ALOT OF TEAMS LOOKED SLIGHTTT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Outside the bears like them or not disagree or agree.. it doesn’t matter. If you seen their preseason games yes preseason just like every other team but for the bears it’s literally like slow motion they pick apart each team and then on defense they dominate whether it’s the 1’s 2’s or 3’s we been standing on business
Don't sleep on Minshew just because he's not lighting things up at camp. Dude's a capable QB and just got to Vegas. Not saying he'll have a successful season but it's only fair to wait to judge. As an Eagles fan, I'm rooting for the guy
Raider fan who's been paying some attention this off season: I think your preview is spot on. Sure they've got some good players. But as the old sayings go: "If you have two QBs you don't have any QBs" and "If you don't have a QB you don't have anything." I'd rather have O'Connell start but it really doesn't matter. One way or the other (lousy start to season, Minshew ineffectiveness or injury), O'Connell will see the field. He was a riddle wrapped in an enigma last season. Is he the QB that couldn't put up a single point against Minnesota and couldn't complete a pass in the last three quarters at KC or is he the QB who threw 8 TDs and no picks the last four games of the season? I think he's closer to the latter and that's why I'd like to see him get the start from the get-go. Speaking of riddles wrapped in enigmas that's the Raiders D. It was very good last half of last year but they didn't face a QB of note that entire stretch outside of the one game against Mahomes. So...is the defense a mirage or the real thing? One thing for sure, it's very thin. If Crosby goes down, they're toast. I think they'll be a decent unit and they'll have to be for the team to have any success. I see lots of 17-14 and 14-10 games in the Raiders future this year. Like you, I also have great reservations about Getsy. He was awful in Chicago. He took a QB who scared teams to death with his legs and cut those legs off. He took away all his instinctiveness and made him a robot. He's got some weapons to work with and I don't ever want to see Bowers come off the field. Pierce is a great motivator but I question his ability to handle in-game adjustments. In a division with Reid, Payton and Harbaugh he is far and away the worst game coach of the four. I see another long year in LV.
I think AP brings the “fuck you” attitude to the team. He’s a players coach. There’s X and O guys like Bill, Shanahan or Andy Reid and there’s player coaches like Dan Campbell, Mike McDaniel and AP. Both types of coaches can get the players behind them and make it work.
"looked softer" - talking about one of the longest active play streaks in NFL history, the man was never hurt, 6'5" standing in the pocket absorbing massive hits and launching massive bombs downfield....... The hate Eli gets even though he was a fantastic QB is insane....
Chargers got a “new” head coach, not necessarily.. they got a pretty good coach, who had a good history in the NFL, who’s technically “new” this year, but he’s got plenty of head coaching experience
they should bring back rich on the coaching staff there, build a strong locker room culture, Devante adam, brock bowers, micheal mayer, minshew, maxx crosby, christian wilkins, i got them at 10 win right now
I really think the Raiders are building the right way. Much in the same way the Niners built a roster before bringing in a QB, I think the defense, offensive weapons, and cornerstones on the offensive line will pay dividends
I am a raiders fan so of course id love to see my team succeed i seriously think we have a chance to be a great defense with some playmakers in the secondary and on the line i have faith in Patrick graham to call his plays and with continuity of this team i feel we could be a scary defense they finished top 10 in defense after Antonio took over our qb room isn’t a bright spot but our wr core I think is fantastic Tucker has progressed a lot this off season per AP and said he feels he’s primed for a breakout year this guy recorded a sub 4.40 Adam’s is great as always and Jakobi exploded last year showing the ability to make plays I love white a power back who gets the ball down field even after being wrapped up and have hope for Dylan the one thing Iam scared for is Getsy a lot of bears fans say he frequently calls the same plays and doesn’t know when to switch up the offense and with a banged up o line how is his plan going to transfer in Vegas I wonder ready for the season and think we could be 10-7 take second in the division
I don't see how you don't think this offense is going to be bad. The line is solid if they stay healthy and the backs and receivers are stacked. If menshew is even half decent the offense should be really good
We might not have an elite QB but minshew is not a bad QB. But what he might lack he has a good team around him. Two good TEs, a good WR group, a solid RB, a good OL and a great defense.
My Raiders have so much potential although the coaching for me is their downside imo. Nothing against AP but this season he has to prove he deserves his job. It's going to be a long season.
Gardner Minshew is a fun watch, but can he actually make a difference for a struggling Raiders offense, or is he just another stopgap until they find a real long-term solution at quarterback? Is the team stuck in a cycle of mediocrity?
If they were going to go with winning now, they should’ve went all out and got a better veteran qb….. or roll with the rookie, and give AP guaranteed for next year…So he can find a qb without panic ….Because if MGarner doesn’t workout, i think he looses his job….Keep in mind, Gruden is available to come back now and Mark knows it
ain’t no WAYYYYYY a PATS fan gonna say “I can’t wait for someone to unseat the Chiefs from the top of the league” lmfaoooo your team ran the league let someone else have the shine 😂
Gardner Minshew is fun to watch, but do you think he can actually lead this Raiders team to any success, or is he just a placeholder until they find a real franchise QB? Should the Raiders be tanking for a better draft pick instead?
Raiders were a total disaster last year, look at their coaching situation. Why people think they will be the same team, or worse with Minshew instead of Garappolo is puzzling. Raiders also have good receivers in Adams, Mysers and now Bowers. No, Minshew isn't Patrick Mahomes, but played quite well last year and will likely be noticeably better than Garappolo was. Raiders issue is depth, an iffy OL, and it's a question mark how well they can stop the run on D. But people who think they went 8-9 last year, and this year will be worse and go 6-11 because they didn't draft a QB are not thinking straight. Also look back at the history of highly drafted QBs. Not all of them pan out like people think. Just look at Mitch Trubisky, Zach Wilson, Sam Darnold, Tre Lance, Carson Wentz. All of those guys went in the top 3 picks overall.
If you follow the team you would it. He will be a great coach. Players want to dominate and play physical like coach is asking them to do. If you not about that life, you ain’t gonna play for Pierce. This ain’t the 2000s+ Raiders no more. You gonna feel us, win or lose🏴☠️
They have Davnte still and maybe hopefully Michael Mayers will take a step forward in developing and hopefully Brock Bowers is the stub we hope him to be.
I’m a raiders fan and I totally agree with this guy’s point of view. I do like ap I love the energy The matter of the fact is they should’ve kept rich if they were just gonna keep AP because they have the same type of coaching style. I think the only reason why AP has a job is because they beat the Chiefs last year. It’s gonna be a long season for sure for the Raiders.
Getsy should have never been hired...Telesco is setting AP up to Fail. Telesco, went got Minshew over Tannehill, than went got Getsy after lowballen WAS new OC, then as usual, played very conservative in the draft, by not going after & move up to get, his HeadCoach AP QB of Choice, Jayden, or moving up again to get AP 2nd QB of Choice Penix. Which is major problem right there if the GM don't think his HC has a valuable input to add. Getsy is No-Good, a waste of an OC, with all this offensive talent, with up & coming, rising defense. Another wasted Raider Year. Telesco & Getsy are going to lead the Raiders nowhere, get AP fired, PG, Maxx, Adams Mayers, JackJones, and others wanting out, & another 3-5 years mire in more mediocrity.
The idea of having Aiden O'Connell and garter minshew battle for the main position is so backwards to me. What was the whole point of their college careers and then the draft pick? All of that time wasted. For you to just run your own little trial to say well we'll figure it out. Like brother look at the tape look at their history. That's all you need to look at. They aren't suddenly going to change because now they have competition. They've had competition the whole time they've been in football. Then focusing on a qb who can throw is basic afff at this point in the NFL. If you're a quarterback, your baseline job is to throw a good ball. If you can't do that, you're literally no one. We need a QB that has pocket presence, And knows when to run. The absolute psychological warfare, of never knowing when the QB is going to run or if he's going to throw it deep for 60 yd is unmatched. Versus knowing that he's only going to throw every single time. Imo, The tape is there, The resources are out there, We spent too much time on Aiden and minshew trying to see what they could be when they've already defined what they are.
Minshew will be the man for the Raiders for 6 to 7 game after that a BIG drop off in his performance. It is a reason why his has been a back up quarterback most of his career. A great situation quarterback after that pure garbage.
