the resurgent Raiders made themselves known in 2016 with a outstanding 12-4 record and barely missing out on a AFC West title. but the future is bright with this team
Yeah, and when Carr got hurt, the entire team felt discouraged... is as if they didn't want to play anymore knowing that all hope was lost that day he got hurt.
The 2016 season was the closest I've ever seen the raiders get to winning the super bowl (born in 2001). Thanks to my dad I found joy in watching the raiders play season after season, game after game. Unfortunately, the 2016 season was the last one I would have the pleasure of watching alongside my dad. I oftentimes come back to these highlights to relive those final moments I got to spend in the living room watching and rooting for our favorite team. Gone but never forgotten. Those memories will stay close to my heart and fresh in my mind thanks to this video. Thanks for the upload
Back when we were Super Bowl Contender's if Carr didnt break his leg we would've beat the Texans most likely we would've beat the Patriots in Foxborough and beat the Steelers in the AFC Championship!
@UntouchableRaider 1960 likely would have had a first round bye because we would’ve beaten Denver in the final week of the season and gone 13-3. Would’ve been a 2 seed and played the 3rd seed Steelers in the divisional round which I think we would have won. 50/50 on if we would’ve gone to NE and won.
That 2016 team was by far thee most exciting, resilient & clutch raider team that I've ever seen. Most of there games. Most of the games they won that year left us fans having heart attacks because those games were so on the edge!!
It still baffles me why in the love of god was Carr still playing in the Colts game when we were up 20 some points 😪 not gonna lie, I miss Mack, but now we got Mad Maxx baby!!!
@@ericharden1359 I wouldn’t go that far I think both of them had great year that year they were a great one two punch that year both had over a thousand yards that year
Came back to this because i wanted to see how we did so great this year: wrs and Carr thinking as one, huge run plays, a defense that got turnovers and sacks. I miss it so much
I miss this team so much😢we were headed to the SB. It sucks that we played the Texans defense with a 3rd string rookie QB in the playoffs. Even if we had Matt McGloin instead of Connor Cook, we might’ve done something. But his hand was injured. That Texans D wasn’t something to play around with. I’ll never forget that game against the Colts. It was heartbreaking
Man if Carr didn't get hurt this is most likely what could of happened: -You beat the Broncos (I think this is no doubt you beat them) in week 17 to go 13-3 and secure the number 2 seed -You face the Steelers (My favorite team) in the Divsional Round and beat them because you have always had the Steelers number in Oakland. -Now this is the part where I don't know if you would for sure win or not; You either face the Chiefs that beat you 2x that season and lose or upset them to make this season even more satisfying Or You face the Patriots and do what only a handful of teams have done and beat Tom Brady in Foxborough making this a magical season to remember -You face Atlanta in the Superbowl (in which you lost to then earlier in the season in week 2 28-35) and lose or avenge your loss and win your 4th SB ever to have one of the most exciting seasons in Raiders and NFL history. Just imagine if Chiefs beat the Patriots in Foxborough in the Divisional Round after they beat the Brock Osweiler lead Texans (They would of beat Texans if they faced them lol). Then they would of given Oakland Homefield advantage as you would host them in the AFC Championship. You avenge your sweep by the Chiefs earlier in the season to get the most satisfying feeling of revenge while going to the Superbowl. Now that you avenge your 2/3 losses(on the season) from the Chiefs, you then face the Falcons in the Superbowl where you beat them to avenge your earlier loss and you avenge the 3 losses in the season to these 2 teams to cement that nobody in the league was better than you guys. That's a season to remember for the ages.
I promise you if that had played out exactly as youve said, We win 2 maybe 3 in a row. Alot of people mightve said "fluke season" or whatever, but when I say Derek carr was a different human being I mean it. Watching him back then vs now, Its totally different. Like a totally new person. I truly believe Derek carr had that "refuse to lose" mentatlity (still kind of does.)Our team was the up and up. Khalil Mack carried that defense on his shoulders like it was nothing, Amari cooper and Mike Crab were a duo that shocked the world, Latavius murray was a young running back with alot of potential, And of course tie it all together with the man under center, Derek muthafkin Carr. That team wouldve won some rings together, maybe not all in back to back years, but wouldve had some rings. Derek carr wouldve been what Patrick Mahomes is now, Someone that changed the game of football as we know it. Crazy escapes in the backfield, Long bombs that land right in the receivers chest, outrunning linebackers to the sticks and so much more. Derek Carr shouldve been the face of the NFL. Crazy to think about how 1 injury can change the path of a teams trajectory, a players career, and a sport as we know it. Agree with me or not, But Derek Carr wouldve changed the NFL
i think the raiders are the only team in the Afc that has a chance to beat the patriots. The raiders would have went to the superbowl in my opinion if carr didnt get hurt. if my team doesnt make it to the playoffs (Eagles fan) im rooting for the raiders nation
I'm an old man...Ive been a Raiders fan my entire life...the early 2000s we were looking good!!! Then the fuck rule...our team went downhill, and we were there for what seemed like forever. I lived in San Diego and LA...In 2008 I left the USMC and relocated to Ohio...Only truck in the state with a fucking HUGE Raider emblem on it hahhaaa...Here we are again..I miss Cali and our Raaaaaaaaaiders are doing us proud once again!!!! My fave....TOOOOOUUUUCCHDOOOOWN RAAAAAAIDDDERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Andrew The killer the "Tuck Rule" game in the 2001 playoffs. Charles Woodson came of the edge and strip sacked Brady and the Raiders recovered with like a minute and a half left in the game with the lead but the Refs said Brady's arm was moving forward so it was an incomplete pass. Then we lost.
@@MrC77 ay 7-8 now and Still have a chance at the playoffs if everything goes our way but anyways who would have thought that the 2019 raiders would be here at week 17 with still a playoff shot in reach not me and for sure not all of these sports channels and announcers
One of the best Offensive units i've ever seen, Del Rio, Musgrave and those guys put on a complete show the whole season, i had at leats 2 strokes that year
This season highlight video shows why it's so important to have both a solid O-line AND defense. You can clearly see how much time Carr had to scan the field and outstanding run blocking for Richard and L. Murray - BUT at the same time you can see A LOT of opposing team scores of 25-30 pts and several games that went to OT. If the Raiders O-line wasn't as good, Carr could not have kept them close for those game winning drives. No team can be successful having to overcome 30pts every game.
April 30th 2017 Mr. McKenzie & whoever else has a say with the players we drafted this year you guys did a excellent & I mean excellent job we have a core of rookies coming in this year who will contribute and take us far this year next year and beyond RAIDER NATION FO LIFE
@@mateogonzalez3374 problem was Cooper Mack and all them others didn't want to continue playing for the raiders under Gruden so he happily gave them the boot! you don't wanna play then I don't need ya!
You gotta show respect for the kind of man Gruden is! He doesn't deal in people's excuses, bullshit, drama queening and other shit and is straight business from Day one to the last day of the season and that is why we love him and people clamor for more coaches to be as effective as him.
Born and race in Kansas City obviously I'm all about the Chiefs Derek Carr is a great quarterback so underrated is not even funny he's definitely one of the great ones of this generation. No matter what team you're in with appreciate great talent when you see it hats off to car
The best play I never saw. Last year..Raiders VS Saints. I'm working on the North slope of Alaska and watching the game on the computer where it shows you what happened after the play. The game comes down to the wire and I coulnd frikkin take it no more so i walked down the hall to the bathroom. Came back and the came wasn't tied because we won. Awesome.
#2019 Came back to see how our Oline use to look. And how the team use to play and scheme. We need this Carr back on the road. #RaiderNation Got Carr’s back brotha.
We had leadership in every position...QB carr...receiver copper/crabtree...RB: Murray/Richard.... OL Donald Penn/Rodney/Osemele...TE: Walford....DL: Mac/Irvine ....corners: Carrie/Smith. Safty: Joseph...kicker: King...punter: Seabass........we were pretty loaded!!! Unfortunate for Carrs injuries as the team was becoming solid!!
This fucking Raiders team had some serious swagger, that 33-34 - 2 point conversion against the Saints I believe is what coined our head coaches nickname "Black Jack Del Rio" absolutely fucking fire year. Derek Carr ain't no bitch..
With the Draft coming closer, I‘m watching this and hope that we can get a team like THIS! Damn, that was our year to win it again! It was Derek to be MVP! But then this fckng injury...
Back with the Raiders had an offensive coordinator who knew how to use Derek Carr Knew how to use three different running backs and came up with plays that complemented what type of quarterback Derek Carr was. Chucky needs to take note. Under Bill Musgrave Derek Carr got better and better and better because he knew how to implement plays that complemented the reason why he got drafted in the first place and not try to make him a quarterback that he is not
This season doesn't seem to be talked about enough. Raiders caught a bad break when Carr got hurt. I'm a Chiefs fan and KC swept and got a break when Raiders lost last regular season game, allowing KC the division and bye. But KC once again failed in playoffs. Raiders had a strong chance to do more that year. Just too bad for Carr and Raiders fans that things ended that way.
I was at the game when Amari Cooper scored for the first time of the year against the Chargers and when Khalil Mack got his first touchdown against the Panthers
Hey Raiders fans watching this in 2020. Just so you know, ur not alone. I know how much it sucks to have a dominant breakout 12-4 season with Khalil Mack leading the charge, and have it disappear the next season. I’m a Bears fan
