Hey Omar, just wanted to thank you for making this film! I had been looking forward to it since I first heard of it a year ago, and it did not disappoint! I am the biggest Burger Baron fan, and have been my whole life - seeing a few of the Burger Baron's that I frequent was really awesome. I've looked up info on Burger Baron for years now and the best info I could find was an essay written years ago, so again, thanks for doing a full-fledged documentary! BTW of course the Mushroom burger is good, but I was always more of a fan of either the Salisbury Burger or the Canadian Burger (with ham). Is there any way in the world for me to find out what the "red sauce" is? It's truly the best sauce I've ever had (and I no longer live in a Burger Baron town so can't just pick up a burger when I get that crave!).
Good news/bad news: the TV doc for CBC is only available in Canada, BUT we are turning it into a feature film for international audiences using this crowdfunder. We're just a few grand short of our min. goal but it's looking good! www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-last-baron-feature-documentary/x/27564927#/
I'm a manager of the real last baron from the origanal baron company the Bc branch started originally from 3 brothers before the company went bankrupt and the Lebanese started buying out our unreserved name
Nancy dixson is able to track all the way to the origanal company with owner titles and right agreements. Like how the company I work for has the origanal name rights for the province and how no 1 baron can do anything about another within there own claims
My home town moose jaw Saskatchewan had a a@w and burger baron burger baron was my fav still is getting very hard to find in Alberta lately I just don't know how the best burgers ever did not become number 1 mean must be a advertising thing as I have never saw a advertisement for baron burger ever to bad I grew up with them when I first tasted McDonald's I thought you must be kidding burger baron blows the roof off McDonald's any day a@w is good as well but nothing beats the baron burgers the mushroom burger and the barronette the sauce amazing sure you had to wait a little while longer for them but we'll worth it I am always hoping one day someone will start a franchise and promote it bring it back I think there are only a couple left such a shame they as going away
