The Last Brown Beret - Trailer #2 

Titles are meant to be lyrical in nature. Does the title, Mission Impossible, mean that the mission is really impossible? The Last Detail does not mean that there are no more details. The Last Tycoon, same thing. The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, same thing. Titles are hardly ever meant to be taken literally. The Catcher in the Rye is a prime example. Titles are meant to provoke interest. One of the characters, accuses the other of attempting to be the last brown beret. That is where the title comes from. Carlos Montes, one of the original founders of the Brown Berets, saw the movie twice and loves it. Jeronimo Blanco and Eliseo Montoya, both had problems with the title, until they saw the movie. Jeronimo told me in a message on Facebook, that he gave our movie a 100 rating. Eliseo told me that he doubted me and that the movie is amazingly good. With all that we face, all the challenges, all the difficulties, we as a community, should reserve judgement, until we actually see the movie. So far, no one who has seen the movie, has any problems with the title. I must tell you, that NO, I will not change the title. Our movie is based on a very successful play, The Last Angry Brown Hat. I wanted to be more honest and call it The Last Brown Beret. Once you see the movie, you will not feel the same way, about the title. Until then, be patient, and attempt to open your mind to the movie. The Chicano audiences that have seen it, adore the movie. I believe that you will too. Thank you for your interest. If you can organize a free screening (we do not have the music rights yet, as we are attempting to raise completion funds to pay for song rights, color correction, final mix. We have a 93 minute festival cut, with temp music and temp color correction. We accept any challenge to screen the movie. We made a pro-Chicano, pro-Brown Beret, pro-Chicano Movimiento movie. Ask folks you may know in LA, who might have seen the movie. Elena Sangit is on Facebook. She is a major Chicana activist. Or ask Josof Sanchez, another Brown Beret Youth organizer. Del Zamora wanna thank you ifor inviting the LA Brown Berets to the screening at Casa 101 we loved it, was wondering if it'd be possible to get a listing of the soundtrack?

Perhaps. We are screening it again in June at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. If you spread the word and help us get people to that screening, I can take the time to list the songs in our movie. Unfortunately, we more than likely will not be able to utilize most of the music, that you saw in our "Work in Progress" cut, as we do not have the funds to pay for all the music rights for all of them. Help us get people, and I will print up a sheet with the songs we used. We thank you for attending the screening. We hope you can attend the next screening.
