cyclops characterization in this issue feels SO MUCH like his x-face/revolutionary days - which i'm all here for. the parallels are there with cyclops putting down his brother, cyclops threating the US, and even the title of the issue kinda reflects issue 3 of bendis uncanny x-men. in issue 3 of bendis uncanny, the stand in for the US was the avengers and in this it's ONE.

This and uncanny will be colliding in December according to solicitations. The teams will be at odds with each other for the foreseeable future by the sound of it

temper's powers reminds me of shoto todoroki from my hero academia

I interpretted Cyclops' actions a lot differently. I don't think he's made Rogue and Co isn't falling in line but that they plan to raid Graymalkin prison. I think his convo with Agent Lunqvist was him standing his ground against O.N.E. trying to control him bcuz Lunqvist came to the meeting putting his nuts on the table like he had the high ground and Cyclops responded in kind. And Scott has the right to be mad being that his home was destroyed, his wife was murdered, genocide was attempted, he was framed, tortured had his eyes sewn shut and he accepted a quiet settlement of a factory in Alaska. And then when Linqvist threatens war, Scott just reminds him who he is, who is on his team and that a portion of his wife's power once destroyed the most powerful military on Earth. The panic attack is more likelya trauma response to the torture and anguish the man has gone thru personally while dealing with the pressures of being the man without Jean, Logan, the Prof, Rogue, Kitty, Storm or anyone to take some of that pressure. He's not breaking bad, he's always been this bad ass, he's just breaking

Yes, Joel, there will be a crossover between X-men and The Avengers written by Jed Mckay as well, where Cyclops will come to blows with Carol Capt. Marvel, then later a big crossover event called "Raid On Graymalkin", where BOTH Cyclops' team AND Rogue's Uncanny X-men team will try and rescue the imprisoned mutants there and come to blows with each others methods, as revealed in a leaked December 2024 Solicit

Cyclops needs some telepathic therapy from his White Queen. I believe Jean would sign off on it.

Temper’s right you know. The kill no man law of Krakoa was very flexible depending on the situation at the time, as well as the whim’s of the quiet council. They never once threaten X-Force members with the pit, and they left a trail of bodies during that time (and don’t even get me started with how they dealt with beast during that run). Conversely, they sent Orphan Maker to the pit, and it was established that he’s mentally stunted, so one could argue he could have been given a lighter sentence as a result (like never leave Krakoa again or something). In short, the second law was not equal for everyone.

Last issue was rough, but it's definitely getting better.
