Spiel Associates has attended every Print or Graph Expo show since 1968. While it saddens us that this will be the very last one, we decided to pull out all the stops and show you every machine we brought to Print 19.
First up is The Sterling Wiremaster-Semi wire binder. This is the most affordable semi-automatic floor model wire binding machine on the market. The binder cuts the wire to length. After hanging the book, it then closes the wire automatically and delivers the book onto the conveyor.
We now move to The Sterling Wiremaster Compact. This is the smallest fully automatic wire binder in the world. At just over eight feet long, it can automatically bind up to 2,000 books per hour. An optional infeed conveyor facilitates faster material handling.
Now in it’s twentieth year, The Sterling Coilmaster is still going strong. Here we are forming and binding books with 40mm diameter coil. The machine can bind books up to 50mm in diameter. Forming your own coil can save you as much as 60% in material costs. This brings us to The new Coilmaster Jr. TS Plus.
With The Coilmaster Jr. TS Plus’ new automatic infeed conveyor the machine can run in-line with The Sterling Coilmaker just like its big brother. Bind up to 600 books per hour with round or oval holes at any pitch with The Sterling Coilmaster Jr. TS Plus.
The new Sterling Digipunchmaster punches at up to 120 strokes per minute on sheets up to 20 inches wide. It delivers into a receeding counterstacker which can be rolled right off to the binding area.
The Sterling Digibinder perfect binder is completely self-adjusting. Here we have bound two sheets on The Digibinder. This is a useful alternative to stitching. Notice how, without any changeovers the machine automatically adjusts from a book with two sheets to one that is two inches thick.
We move onto The Digibinder Plus SG. Here we are going to bind a half inch thick book and then a two inch thick book without any adjustments. SG stands for side glue. While all Digibinders side glue, this machine sports a separate side glue pot that is, of course, completely self-adjusting. Bind books with perfect side gluing each and every time.
The newest addition to The Digibinder family is The Digibinder Super-C. This machine feeds and creases the covers in-line prior to binding. Place up to ten creases in each cover. The machine can bind up to 300 books per hour, up to two inches thick. The books are delivered to a vertical book stacker, or in this case a conveyor delivery.
