Amen to that!! I read somewhere that the ford model t at one time was the most filmed automobile, but i think the crown vic has far surpassed that record
Thank you for being painted Yellow and driving people in need to their destinations. Thank you for being painted Black & White and keeping the streets safe Thank you for being painted any color a citizen wanted when they bought you. This is one of the best vehicles in the world, and I can't believe that they discontinued one of their best vehicles. I hope your brother, the Ford Tuarus, can meet the same expectations you did.
I'm a chevy guy all the way but god damn this is one sad video. you can see the proud American people making one hell of a car. my hats is off to you guys..
They're actually Canadian, since the St. Thomas Plant where the Crown Vics were built was in Southwold, Ontario. But, still. It is very sad. She was the last classic body-on-frame, rear-wheel drive V8 sedan.
No worries. We're in this together as far as I'm concerned, given how most GM and Ford vehicles sold in Canada and the United States were assembled in one country or the other -- with parts built in both countries -- because of the Auto Pact. I'm not sure if the St. Thomas Plant still exists, but Ford no longer builds anything there at all.
+Mikishots that's a same. very sad. Canada and the us have such a proud, strong , skilled labor base. and 2 great countries that appreciates these types of jobs.
I love how all the people in the factory are showing so much love for this car. It’s like they told it “you’re the last one buddy, good luck out there”
@@ohioemeregncyresponsevehic3381 Well they are in America. In the rest of the world Ford cars are still a thing as we dont like the SUV. Tbh I really don't see the point of SUVs nowhere near as good a hatch or a saloon or even an estate car
@@Matt-di6nb I'm not big on SUVs and I certainly don't like tiny European golf carts either. Nowhere near as good as a full size or even an economy car.
Toast651gaming You do realise the crown vic has a 130mpg limiter and the new patrol cars coming out, like the dodge charge police edition clocks 155 with the 5.7L.. The SUV patrol cars are limited to 130, like the chevy tahoe as thats where the 4 speed tranny cuts out. I know that as my truck is stock from 2005 and it cuts out at 134-136 redlining..
I just loved to see the NYC taxis before stick to the Crown Vic it actually makes the city's taxicabs unique to other countries. But sadly right now there are different types of taxi models cruising NYC like Priuses, Camries, and even crossovers
Its like when Britian lost Austin and the FX4 black cab went out of production in 1997. The new cabs in London tried to emulate the look and feel but its not the same.
whats wrong with the crown vic? it was one of the last body on frame sedans. it served our country for a long time in the form of civilian cruisers, taxis, and cop cars. why hate the crown vic so much?
I want me a crown Victoria police version all black with black interior with carpet turn into a High performance car pushing over 325 horsepower with pos traction with High performance parts
Specifically, its at a ford dealer in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. They have a lot of fords that were "last one built". However the last P71 interceptor is in a museum in kansas.
Same here, when I took an internship with the Texas Department of Public Safety, I went with a ride-along with the State Troopers, some of them are driving the Crown Victoria. For me, the Ford Crown Victoria will always be my #1 favorite sedan from Ford. It’s so sad to see them go.
@@pewpew-_-2157 Yeah Charger is joke what they look like now. They are not the 2 door muscle cars from the 60s and 70s anymore. A Ford Crown Victoria actually looks like a real car and has guts. I don't even have to buy one for speed, buy one for space, size, safety, and looks
God I miss mine. Rarely ever had to take it to the shop and when I did it was a hour or two tops and usually under a hundred bucks. Only time it stayed over was for an engine swap (312k miles). Old girl lived through four snowstorms, drove cross country, countless miles thrown on her, and ultimately gave her life to protect me in a head on collision I walked away from with no more then a headache and a broken heart lol. A legendary vehicle.
Thank you so much for posting this video. It is with a heavy heart that I watch this video. I'm 64 years old. I have a 2011 Crown Victoria. Mine is gray, but like the one in this video, I have the same rims and mine is also flex fuel like the one in the video. I hope to be able to keep mine until I die. I wouldn't take anything for it, except, maybe a 2010 Grand Marquis, or maybe a 2011 Town Car. And I would basically be getting what I already have. There is not a car made anywhere else on earth I would rather have than what I already have. Are you listening, or reading this, Ford Motor Company? To the people at Ford Motor Company who may actually see this comment, let me tell you a little story. Okay, my father died this past January, 2016. He was a World war II veteran. I'm a disabled Navy veteran. Anyway, he was, and along with me, members of a nearby Disabled American Veterans. About ten or twelve years ago, we went to a DAV meeting. At the time, Daddy had a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. When we got to the meeting, along with our Grand Marquis, we were among 14, or 15, maybe even 16, or more Grand Marquis', Lincoln Town cars, and Crown Victorias . There weren't more than five or six other cars that weren't the three cars I just mentioned. It looked like we were making a TV commercial for Ford Motor Company. To Ford Motor Company, you have no idea just how much you have hurt so many millions of Americans who were loyal customers. I can name almost a dozen men and women who traded there old Chevrolet Caprices, or Cadillac Fleetwoods for Crown Victorias, Grand Marquis', and Town Cars. I know of one woman who recently traded her Grand Marquis for a Fusion. She liked her Grand Marquis better. Her sister has a Crown Victoria, which she traded in an old Caprice for it. In 1987 my parents bought a new Grand Marquis. In 1991, they traded it in on a '91 Grand Marquis. In 1997, they bought a new Grand Marquis; but kept the '91. Mother died in June of 2000. In the summer of 2001, Daddy bought a 2001 Grand Marquis. In around May of 2009, Daddy and I drove down to Panama City, Florida, to the dealership we had been trading with. The car had around 100,000 miles on it. It didn't use any oil. Ran like new. handled like new. Got fairly decent gas mileage. WE DIDN'T GO THERE TO TRADE!!! Some salesman drove up in a 2008 Grand Marquis. We fell in love and traded. They sold that 2001 before we were through filling out the paperwork for the 2008. In may of 2012, we drove back down to the dealership...NOT TO TRADE. The 2008 Grand Marquis then had around 60,000 miles on it. The tires were beginning to get a little slick. It was beginning to take a little longer to stop the car. The tires still had a fairly decent amount of tread on them. WE DIDN'T GO THERE TO TRADE!!! We just went down there to "trade for" new tires. We didn't go there to trade. And some salesman drove up in this 2011 Crown Victoria, like the one in this video. Except it was gray. We fell in love again and traded. I hope to be able to keep this 2011 Crown Victoria until I die. Maybe I can be buried in it.
to be fair i think most of the ones in movies are ones that were in accidents that left them as write offs (bent frame for example) new body panels are installed to make them look not wrecked before crash or at least this is what i tell myself when i see this
Good thing is, we'll always see them in movies as long as there's a steady supply of written-off Crown Vics. We'll always remember them, even if the cops won't use it.
It's now been 10 years since the last Crown Victoria rolled off the line. Today is September 15, 2021 Gone, but not forgotten! Here's to the greatest car to ever roll off the assembly line!
Probably the most easiest to recognize police car ever made, every angle of the car just looks amazing and simple Every good thing comes to an end at some point
@@WilliamHollinger2019 not only for their services, but don't forget that these cars were extremely reliable as well. Other than the poor gas mileage but you don't buy it for fuel economy. You buy it as an everyday transportation vehicle without whining about gas prices every now and then.
Agreed, great cars, big, reliable, decent power and speed, not great on gas, but i like the trade off that they are huge cars that can carry lots of stuff. I use mine for camping and can fit numerous people and all their stuff in the car. They're great
@@owl7339 sorry Carlos....not a chance, that 4.6 interceptor engine was far superior to the 9c1...just straight stock on the Dynotune will show you the specs. End of story..Period!!!!
Producing these cars was like printing money for Ford. Cheap to make, no advertising dollars necessary and a guaranteed, huge, customer base every year.
@@rickhunter6513 unfortunately even the taurus has been discontinued. Idk why but chevy and ford are discontinuing most of their sedans like the impala, fusion....
Nexus 104 it is quite sad that companies like Kia/Hyundai are still making sedans and US companies gave up. The Impala and Taurus were good cars, just not for everyday police usage
Around 100k miles many are sent to auction and will be a good car for another 100k. $500 a year for repairs is one monthly car payment for those buying a new car
Josey Stateson I know but it would have been nice if they redesigned it the last one was not to different than the one from 1995 literally they both have the same dash board
@@jakethesnake4971 Heck yeah!!! I just put a new set of tires on it; ready for another few hundred thousand miles...they are built for commercial use just like a semi that can run for a million miles or more. That's why they became popular as taxi cabs, police cars, and government vehicles.
Sho Bud don't worry ford will still make great cars like the focus, I work at a mechanics shop and the transmissions need to be rebuilt under 30k miles. Makes sense to stop making the Vic though doesn't it? So sad
I don't know the camera operator for the horizontal stuff was pretty shaky and you think the music appropriate? What is sad is that there is no official "Ford" movie/video crew to have done a video befitting the music chosen. Some interviews, a backgrounder/history if the car and finally where this last CV ended up?
Ryan M I wood I agree the crown Vic police interceptor could take a beating and shake it off like it was nothing. Especially when it pit maneuvers a bigger vehicle. And used as a rolling barricade to stop a speeding car.
little fun fact: this LAST crownvic is still in saudi with like a small small amount of kilometers driven on it, and its listed for like 345,000 SAR = approx. 92,000 USD. still got the original signatures of the ford employees.
The Crown Vicky, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car were the last true American cars made: Rugged, 400,000 mile rear wheel drive chassis same as they made in the 1960s but front-wheel drive is SO MUCH CHEAPER to manufacture. That's the whole reason for them abandoning the BEST chassis Ford made in 50 years. Dinky front-wheel drive needs no frame, they just bolt a little motor up under the hood and they're done. Personally I think THEY'RE JUNK!
I'm all for Ford and I support them but, there is a limit. This was the line. I really love these cars. I'm still a Ford fan. The Taurus Police Interceptor isn't nearly as intimidating as the Crown Victoria. This marks the death of large rear-wheel drive V8 American luxury cars.
Hoggy-Doggy it marks the death of the large rear-wheel drive V8 for FORD. cadillac, chevy, chrysler, and dodge are still making their big v8 rwd cars... no offense, but ford lost...
Nick G They are not big for one. The Crown vic was midsize for the seventies it is a downsized car. The other stuff is not even comparable. They are uni body cars which won't hold us as well as the vic. THe chevy Caprice is just a holden commodore and the Dodge is a mercedes benze frame from the 90s. They are shit compared to the crown vic.
Nick G Don't even mention Cadillac and big cars. Their reign in that segment ended with the Fleetwood in the mid 1990's. Ever since the late 1980's, Cadillac has utilized FWD unibody components on ALL THEIR CARS (except Fleetwood and Escalade).
Ford should have continued to make them as Cobras and Super Cobras. Mercury Marquis had a Marauder, sniff, sniff. We should have had a Cobra, Super Cobra, Cobra Jet, something more than worn out interceptors and an embossed bumper cover like the Marauder. When will they learn to stop killing the great ones?
George Rivera i agree it seems every fucking time we fall in love with those cars they cut there throats or give it a "revamp" that kills what we love about them. 😟😥
Jacob Evans There was Torino Cobra and Cobra Jet, . Only Mustang Cobra more recently. A cobra is tuned suspension and HO engines. CVs Interceptors already have those.
***** The People allow these things to happen. We do not exist to serve the needs of the government. Government exists to serve the needs of the People through taxation, not taxation to fight undeclared foreign wars to profit, and enrich the elite stock holders who thrive on war profits. Time to break and end the tyranny of the rich.
Absolutely unlikely. The modern car world is dominated by SUVs. Y'all have probably heard about the plans to discontinue cars like Impala and Taurus soon. The only American station wagon currently in production is that Buick based on an Opel. Soon we'll have the same about sedans...
it won't take that much to make another model, the Vic was a legendary car that looked basic. they could maybe a crown Vic anniversary edition should be in order.
If either of the models, crown Vic or maurader(not like the maurader has a chance of coming out since mercury shut down), ever came out in 2017 they would have to go big
Every manufacturer has had good and bad models. Ford is no exception, but there's a reason these were and are used in fleet service. I have a 2011 Ranger (also ended production at the end of the same year) and it's been flawless since I bought it new.
SS Production wrong, the 7.3 powerstroke diesel, the mustang, the ford gt and gt40, the 68-70 ford torino, i could go all day... fords are great cars, like dodge and most chevys
dsteward85 Go to Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, or Philippines. The new 2015 ford ranger looks pretty nice. Unfortunately we will never see it her in America.
